Situated in Spring Lake, this charming house for $294 per night is a great option for your next break. Welcome to Esther House. We took a 1930's catalog vacation cabin and turned it into an inviting 2 bedroom retreat home. We are steps to the Spring Lake Beach and Village, bike paths, a 2.5 mile bike or car ride to the beaches of Grand Haven. This charming, fully rehabbed 2 bedroom home makes for the perfect getaway, and the best alternative to a Hotel/Motel in the area. Although the footprint of Esther house is small, we offer 1100 sq ft of comfort over the basement, main level and lofted bedroom, designed with easy and comfortable living in mind. A fully stocked custom kitchen with high-end appliances, granite breakfast bar and an open plan to the cozy living/dining room. Small dinette table seats four. The living room has a comfortable sofa, reading chair and 42" TV. No cable, but its hooked up to stream all your favorites. In the basement we have a brand new bedroom with a queen sized bed, nightstands and dresser. A separate utility area with washer/dryer. Nice and quite fenced back yard with a cement patio.

A few friends and I stayed at this property for a weekend. The property was very nice. It is the perfect accommodation for a small group spending some time in the Grand Haven area. It is a short drive to Grand Haven and surrounding state parks.

I actually ended up staying at a second larger property that was offered to me so that some maintenance work could be done on this one during the days I was booked. Everything was lovely and I can recommend this host.

The location is great and very convenient to many things. The neighborhood itself isn’t the nicest, but once you walk into the property, it’s a non issue. The bedding was wonderful and very comfortable. Very well equipped with everything you would want.

Perfect location for us, very nice place, we just needed to do our homework a little more. With Bedrooms on the top floor and the basement and the bathroom in the main level, this made it a bit difficult for us, since we took our 85 year old father along. He needed to be close to the bathroom at night, which made things difficult. We needed to do our homework a bit more to understand this about the home. Thank you for our stay, it was peaceful.

We've been going to the Holland/Grand Haven area for years, but this was our first time staying in Spring Lake. This house was perfect for our family of 4. It was on a nice, quiet street just a short walk from a bike path and beach. Being that close to those two spots plus having a yard and bedrooms on separate floors meant our teenagers had plenty of options for finding their own space when needed :) The kitchen was well stocked for the nights we decided to cook. The beds were very comfortable. It was a quick and easy drive to Grand Haven. The host was responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. We would definitely consider staying here again the next time we are in the area.

Frederick was a great host. I’ve been away from snow/ice for a while and didn’t fully read the instructions. When I saw my footprints on the clean floor, I was mad at myself. Sorry Frederick. We appreciate the food recommendations.

Hello VRBO fans! Our stay at this great get away was awesome. We had a fire ever night and with the secluded backyard wooden fence it made it enjoyable. Everything you want is a short drive from this location. We had a blast and made memories for ourselves!

I couldn't have been more impressed with this quaint and charming property in Spring Lake, Michigan. Spring Lake is my hometown and I was home visiting family for the holidays, little did I know, the property is just down the street from my family which made it the perfect location for my visit! Frederick was extremely detailed with the check-in process and it was very easy to figure out where everything was. The rental had a cozy, cottage-like feel to it and had charming antique décor to match. The rental is also located on a quiet, dead-end street in he heart of town, just down the street from the Spring Lake Beach and only a few miles from Grand Haven. This is the perfect location for anyone who is looking to visit the Spring Lake/Grand Haven/Muskegon area. I will most definitely be back!

We so enjoyed the Esther house. The location was so perfect just a very short walk to the little beach on Spring Lake that was absolutely perfect for kids. Frederick ensures you have all modern conveniences upon arrival (including beverages in the fridge for a reasonable cost). Other guests leave behind reviews of local places and restaurants on a chalkboard that was extremely helpful. Very charming place indeed!

Thoughtful touches like illuminated light switches, touch-activated bedside lamps, full-size fridge & clothes washer/dryer were appreciated. Several interior staircases access each bedroom. Village Bakery (2-blks away) has extensive delicious dinner menu. Highly recommend free 2-hr guided tour of Meyer May House in lovely architecturally-rich Heritage Hill area of Grand Rapids.

Loved it! Perfect size and location to visit the Grand Haven, Holland and Saugatuck area with friends. Wanting to come back for a longer stay, there is so much to see and do ! Nice and quiet neighborhood with small beach within walking distance, will bring bikes next time to ride the trails.

We visited Spring Lake/Grand Haven for a long 4th of July weekend and had a great experience! We had our 2 and 5 year old boys with us, so while the lay out (one bedroom lofted and one in the basement) is not super ideal for kids, we were able to make it work - fortunately the boys were so exhausted from our day time activities, sleep wasn't an issue! If you're a parent and bringing smaller children, would just recommend bringing a monitor along. Overall, location is very central to what Spring Lake and Grand Haven have to offer. We spent one day at the public beach that is within walking distance from the house and another at Lake Michigan. Great Spring Lake food options near the house and less than 10 minutes from downtown Grand Haven and the big beach.

This property is just as the pics show. It appears smaller on the outside, but once inside, it's just right. It has been remodeled very nicely, with high-end touches, and has everything nicely appointed, with one bedroom downstairs (from the main) and one upstairs (from the main). The beds were comfortable, especially the pillows! We had a little glitch with the downstairs smoke alarm tweeting in the middle of the night, as the battery was low, and contacted the homeowner the next morning. It was immediately remedied! We enjoyed a great stay at Esther House. Only suggestion . . . a mirror in the upstairs bedroom would be very helpful! I liked the large chalkboard with suggestions of places to visit, etc.. We did visit at least 3 of the places . . . Village Bakery (Spring Lake), Morning Star Cafe and JW's (Grand Haven), and of course, the beaches . . . all were excellent! Spring Lake is a lovely little Community, and Esther House is lovely as well!
