We had a wonderful 3-night stay here! The host was incredibly kind and welcoming – they organized scooter hire for us in just 15 minutes and the laundry service was quick and reliable.
Breakfast was a real highlight: it changed every morning with tasty local options, and the fresh fruit juices were perfect after surfing. We loved trying different Sri Lankan flavors each day.
The location is great – a peaceful retreat away from the main crowds, but still easy to get around with the scooter we rented. Hiriketiya Beach (Hiri) is ideal for beginners like us: mellow waves, sandy bottom, and perfect for building confidence. We stayed just the right amount of time – 3 nights felt spot-on; any longer and we might have felt a bit bored.
Only downside is how crowded the surf spot gets, but that’s common here. Overall, highly recommend for beginner surfers wanting a relaxed, friendly vibe!
Make sure to wear some mozzie repellant when it gets dark and ensure you close doors/windows. We had the windows open one night and got eaten alive during the night as they got through the net

Beautiful peaceful guest house . Great location backing onto the water .
V close to beautiful Blue Beach .
Very lovely staff , quiet peace and beauty - peacocks and monkeys and the sea - that’s all you hear .
Little kitchen with a kettle and fridge you can use .
Delicious varied breakfast - stayed 3 nights and could stay longer .
Would defo return here .

The garden setting, private access to rocky shoreline, friendly employees and breakfast variety as well as stayed 4 nights.
The idyllic, tranquil setting was unfortunately marred by construction of new units next door within 1m of property. Peace was disturbed everyday by use of power tools, banging as scaffolding being erected and dismantled. Work doesn’t stop on weekend. I feel compelled to inform other travellers. Rooms are very basic with little to no provisions including threadbare towels. Don’t have milk on-site for tea/coffee. Fortunately we drink black but many travellers may not.
