About this house rental
Situated in Carlsbad, this lovely house for $265 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Large, beautiful, comfortable, clean, beach house. This is a single family home, no shared space., with a small garage, and parking area attatched to the house. We are located across the Street from Tamarack Beach. The price quoted is for a family of 5, the 6th person will be an extra charge. The coaster train is a great way to travel to downtown, or other beach cities, also the horse races, or fair. It's walking distance to the station, or ample parking at the station. There's over 70 restaurants in the village, which is walking distance from the house. If you are coming to see the flower fields, we are 1.5 miles away. They are usually open from March to Early May. Beautiful view, and easy access to the beach. A 2 minute walk, and few stairs, or ramp, and your on the sand. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom, yard for kids to play in nice, and convenient beach/coastal neighborhood. A grass front yard for enjoying the water views also. Ocean views from the front room, kitchen, and front bedroom. This is not a party house, but a family house. Carlsbad was voted one of the top family beaches in the U.S. Nice large kitchen with an eating area that seats 6. Outdoor patio table seats 6 also. Outdoor hot and cold shower. Full size washer/dryer, patio, with table, chairs, firepit, and barbecue, all with ocean view. Walk to the Village, with over 70 restaurants, and shops. Shop at the outlet mall 2 miles away, or large shopping mall 4 miles away. Legoland is less than 3 miles from the house. We really enjoyed our stay here in this very clean and comfortable beach house. Pam was welcoming and always available to answer questions. There home was better than described and had every appliance that we needed. The location was perfect with quick and easy access to the beach, to town and to area restaurants. The home had several areas to relax in and was a safe and protective setting for our 2 yr old grandson. We plan on returning again.

My family just spent 9 nights in this home. Here are the great parts:
-Location!
-View
-Super comfy beds!!
-Cozy living room with nice throw blankets
-Great beach gear
-Nice outdoor patio
-Washer/dryer
-Easy off-street parking
-Good communication with host
-Bathroom in each bedroom!
Needs improvement:
-Leaky window in living room
-Leaky sink
-Fridge needs updating (especially water filter and ice maker)
-Kitchen needs some more things for cooking like tin foil, larger storage containers with lids, and things like that for leftovers.
-Had very little toilet paper for us. We had to buy our own.
-We are big tea drinkers, and their tea pot was unusable.
We enjoyed our visit but wouldn’t stay there again.

I cannot say enough positive things about our stay. Our host was wonderful and attentive, the home was spotless and had every amenity we could need and the location is absolutely perfect. Walkable to the beach and Carlsbad village, we will absolutely be looking to stay here anytime we come to town to visit friends.

I could tell that the owners really care about their property and take good care of it. They called us to let us know that it was ready early (about 90 minutes before check in time).
The house was very clean and in good repair. Plenty of towels, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, etc.
There is a gorgeous view of the beach from the front living room window. The neighborhood is quite nice and people were very friendly.
I was really glad for the off-the-street parking. The garage is kind of small, but I was able to fit my midsized SUV in it. The parking spot on the side of the garage is quite spacious.

We travel to California every year in October and have done so for a number of years. Consequently, we have booked a number of different rentals. Without a doubt, this one was the best by far. Pam was a perfect hostess, the house was spotless and had every convenience that we could have asked for. The view from the deck was positively stunning and the photos of sunsets and ocean are priceless. We walked across the street to be at the shore and enjoy the magnificent ocean power. Transportation to and from the house was effortless. This is the place from now on for our annual visit. Treat yourself and book Pam’s lovely rental home!

It was so nice to have a full kitchen and two spacious bedrooms, an outdoor eating area plus two lounge areas. The home is located about a mile from Carlsbad Village and across the street from the ocean. There is some traffic noise during the day but it’s quiet after 9pm. The owner was very communicative.

This house was in a prime location. Beach is across the street, or you can walk, bike, or shop nearby. Relax and people watch or enjoy ocean sunsets from living room or comfy patio with outdoor dining and fire pit. Our sisters get-away was just perfect.

The photos don't do this property justice. It's much bigger & brighter than it looks and the outdoor space is perfect - we even had people stop on the corner to ask us how we got so lucky. Amazing location, just across the street from a large, beautiful sandy beach. Good layout with bedrooms toward the back, away from the street. Large, well equipped kitchen and loads of beach stuff, including for kids. Super convenient to have the parking spot as well. Really loved our stay. My only feedback is that is seems checkout is actually earlier than the listed 10.30am... we began getting texts & calls from the owner at 8.45 and by 9.30 she was on site trying to hustle us out. I was already frazzled trying to pack up with a 4 year old in tow and I'd promised him he could visit the beach one last time, so having to rush around like a headless chicken instead and leave 45mins early without the promised goodbye to the beach made for a challenging last morning to say the least. I wish the actual departure time had just been communicated upon check in, as I would have packed the night before and not promised my son his beach goodbye. I'd love to stay again but would just assume an 8.00a departure and plan accordingly.

Walking into this home was like walking into an Instagram influencer vacation. This is the the quintessential beach dream vacation home. There is something so special about this place, you just automatically sink in. On the practical side, it has every single thing you could need for your vacation from a fully stocked kitchen (tools, pans and such) to the perfect stocked garage for your trip to the shore, (beach chairs, umbrella, wagon, toys) EVERYTHING. We had a few interactions with the owners including a special visit from her son who so generously came and invited us to come watch the neighborhood fireworks on the 4th of July. This stay was a pleasure from start to finish and I truly hope we get to go again in the future. 10 out of 10

Location close to beach access, great for viewing sunsets and people watching. Great outdoor space - deck w/fire pit, dining area and grassed area. Large off-road parking space, easy to unload baggage from vehicle into house. Lots of beach items in very good condition - we noted 6 chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, plenty of kids toys, boogie boards and a wagon too.
Interior of house decorated in a beachy theme and was quite well equipped. There are a few steps from living room to kitchen, then kitchen to bedrooms, so not all on one level but very manageable. Laundry room was great for doing a midweek wash and pods were provided. Good lighting in the house and showers had good water pressure. Owners living next door, so close if any issues arise. Both very friendly. Prompt communication.
Possible Cons - The beds were a little too soft for us with the mattress toppers, but others may find them OK.
Noise from the road can be loud, but you have to expect that given the close proximity to ocean. We got used to it after a couple of days.
Overall a great place for a beach holiday.

Comfortable and easy to access and park. Friendly owners and quick to assist. One note, it can get loud on the 101 with the cars driving by.

Pam the owner said she is working on this, but the water was turned off by the city for the entire day for over 12 hours that we couldn’t shower use the restroom it’s not my idea of an ideal vacation situation I feel I’m entitled to a refund for the inconvenience!
I had to book a hotel for that night so that we could shower sleep use the restroom and then get up and be someplace the next morning that was part of our plan for our vacation. I couldn’t take a chance of water will be turned on and when I spoke with the men working on it , they also they had no idea when it would be back on they couldn’t guarantee anything.! So i am out an additional 280.00 for a hotel room on top of the night at the house i paid for

We had the best time at this property! Well stocked, wonderful owners, and the location can't be beat. Easy walk to the beach and downtown. Perfect sunset view from porch. Legoland is a short drive and the Zoo was under 40 minutes. Wonderful family rental, will most definitely return.

This property right across the street from the best beach in Carlsbad offered a welcome respite from cold weather on the east coast. The house was tastefully decorated and the private driveway parking spot was a plus. The outside patio area was great for relaxing, and the beds were comfortable. The house is located on the main drag so there is some traffic noise but it's not too bad. I usually visit my family in Carlsbad twice a year and would definitely stay here again!

This beautiful historic home is across from the ocean. You can see the breakers from the original front window; watch the sunset from chairs on the lawn or cross one street to walk in the sand. Very comfortable, relaxing spot. Owners highly responsive to the few questions we had. Highly recommend!
