About this house rental
Nestled in North Padre Island, this charming house for $283 per night is a great option for your next break. Birds of Paradise is located at one of North Padre Island's newest vacation destination resorts, Padre Beach View Townhomes. It features a 2 story townhome with an open floor plan on the first floor and 3 bedrooms plus a loft area on the second floor. A full kitchen with a large granite island and everything needed for cooking and dining including plates, cups, silverware, and pots and pans is on the first floor. Also on the first floor is a large dining room table that seats 8 and a spacious living room to accommodate a large gathering. There is a cabinet bed in the living room that opens up into a queen size bed. A 1/2 bath and a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer are also conveniently on the 1st floor. Outside, there is a fenced in patio with a picnic table and extra seating. All 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. The master bedroom has a king size bed, an en suite full bathroom and a private balcony with a stunning view of the beach. Guest bedroom #1 has a king size bed and guest bedroom #2 has bunk beds with a full size bed on the bottom and twin size bed on the top plus a pull out twin size trundle bed. A loft area with a day bed plus the second full bathroom are also on the 2nd floor. TVs are provided in every bedroom, in the loft area and in the living room. Cable and wifi are provided. This unit has 2 reserved parking spaces and extra parking is available along the street. Only one other unit stands between you and the beautiful salt water pool or you can take a short walk to the beach. Restaurants and stores are just a short drive away.

Impressions: DIRTY, disappointing, not what we expected for the price we paid, and wayyy overpriced!
Kitchen counter full of crumbs. Fridge took until the next morning to actually get cold. Bought freeze pops for the kids, and they never froze! Every single dish we used we had to hand wash it first. They were caked with food remnants. Which makes sense when the closing instructions say to start the dishwasher, but they leave no pods or soap to use in it. We stayed for 4 nights, and were left with 1 trash bag, 1 roll of paper towels, and 1 roll of toliet paper in each bathroom. Extras would have been helpful, especially for the price you are charged. We assumed that they would have beach vacation home items such as a wagon, cooler, pool and beach toys, etc. Not the case, there was nothing. This place has not had more than a clorox wipe swipe on any surface, baseboard, high touch area, or wall in a very long time. Again, I am on vacation, paying a very high cost to stay (much higher than the listed nightly price for some reason).... shouldn't it be clean? There were inches of dust on most surfaces, fans, and decor. Then couch was big, but was so dirty, it felt crusty to sit on. There were nails sticking out of the bunkbed. The kids room had a broken fan with no blades, and mangled metal. There was open food in the bunkbed stairs. There was food smeared inside the trundle bed. Was refunded the cleaning fee. Not good enough. I would never stay here again.

A great location, but disappointed in many things in the unit. Such as:
Bathtub didn't work
TV's didn't work upstairs
No deadbolts
Fan for the third bedroom did not work, had to buy one.
Dirty floors
Lipstick on glasses
Refrigerator light out
Warped cookware
Cheap coffee maker with carafe that didn't fit properly
Furniture very used and in need of cleaning

Didn't get to check in on time due to condo being cleaned. Nails sticking out of bunk beds. Missing blades on one of the ceiling fans. Overall nice stay.

Overall the location was great for my family! Whenever I had a question the owners responded quickly. The beach was in walking distance which was perfect and the kids had a blast at the pool. Other than being a great spot, the only thing I’d suggest is get universal remotes for all of the TV’s. I would definitely stay here again.

My family visits these condos each year, for the past four years. You can see the beach from the balcony and having so many outdoor shower options nearby was nice just to wash the sand off your feet.
House is well stocked with equipment you may need during your stay and check in was a breeze.

My family, my dad especially really enjoyed our stay. So much so my dad is ready to go on another vacation next year!! This condo was perfect, really loved the giant island in the kitchen, to the open living area. washers and dryers on site. and a GREAT view of the beach for the morning sunrise and coffee. If you need a reset this place will give it to you.

We had a great time! Property had some wear and tear and could have been cleaner. They need to just have someone come in and do a deep clean/refresh. Other than that, it’s a great location!

Excellent getaway
The property was perfect for our large family. The pool was great and the location was on point, right by the beach. The property management was very responsive and incredibly helpful. Will definitely book again.

We had a great time here. Close to the beach, very roomy and open. If we come back to Corpus Christi, we will definitely stay here again.

The unit is lacking some basic kitchen tools/needs so be prepared if you plan to cook. The showers had issues.(No pressure in one, clogged tub in the other) We had issues with the upstairs tvs and remotes. We gave up. The complex pool is nice but didn’t have lights when it was dark. The beach is close enough but we rented a golf cart and it was worth every penny. Overall, I’d rate the complex a 9 and the unit an 8. The issues were very minor compared to how great our trip was. We would definitely reserve in this complex again.

This condo is really close to the beach, which makes it easy to walk to and from the beach. The beds were comfortable and there was space for our party of 9.
The place hadn't been cleaned the night we arrived, so we had to wait outside until the owners finished cleaning it.

Good location but overall cleanliness and disrepair made us feel like we got much less than we paid for. Coffee pot was broken and still after 2 calls was nothing replaced dryer door broken and unusable. Many light bulbs out general cleanliness was not good.

Kitchen had everything you could ever possible want or need. SUPER clean which was a surprise being right on the beach. Randy was FABULOUS on getting back to us on a few questions. Definitely rent a golf cart , we got a 10% discount through the townhouse.

We could hear him arguing with some lady about where she left them in the condo. We told him they weren't there so he said he would send some over. We waited a while and no one showed up. I texted him, still nothing. We just left and bought some along with hand soap for the bathrooms, a sponge for the sink to wash dishes, and just little things that were missing. Like I said, this is a good place, but they just need to pay attention to the little things.

Positives: very good location, great view from master balcony, extra street parking right across from backyard, nicely decorated, lots of indoor space, plenty of seating for gathering, super close to the pool, has full size laundry/dryer, plenty of dishes, plenty of towels, laundry basket in the master bedroom.
Negatives: no soap in the master bathroom, super thin cheap toilet paper, no dishwasher detergent, dishwasher wouldn’t turn on, only one extra kitchen garbage bag, fence latch was very hard to open.

We slept in the spare room with the King bed, which said was a Queen in the listing. Lastly, in the bunkbed room there were no knobs on the drawers, and wires were sticking out of an outlet that had no cover. The property manager was quick to respond with things that we needed, and replaced the outlet cover quickly. But overall the unit needs work.

We really enjoyed our stay. The townhouse was very tidy and well suited for an enjoyable stay. We loved the proximity to the beach and the view from the master bedroom. Would have been useful to have more laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent though. Overall, enjoyed the time there!
