About this cabin rental

Situated in Vashon, this charming cabin for $200 per night is a great choice for your next break. Step back in time to this charming 1935 waterfront cabin. Hike down a steep trail of old growth trees and native sword ferns to our cozy waterfront beach cabin. There are 80 stairs and 7 switchbacks on the walk down and back up again to the road, but the beautiful private location is worth the effort. Enjoy 120' of low bank waterfront facing west. Beautiful sunsets, beach walks, and abundant wildlife await you. This quiet spot will steal your heart. Just 5 minutes from the Vashon ferry dock, and yet feels a world away from busy Seattle. Remodeled kitchen, "great" room with massive rock fireplace and 2 sets of French doors that open onto the deck overlooking the water. The deck has outdoor seating for lounging and dining. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare your home cooked meals. The cabin sleeps 4, with a queen-size bed in the main floor bedroom, plus 2 full-size futon beds in the attic sleeping room. The bathroom is vintage "beach cabin" with a claw foot tub/shower, plenty of linens, bath towels, and beach towels are available for your stay. The outdoor space includes a picnic lawn area with a charcoal BBQ grill. One of our favorite spots to enjoy sunsets and evenings is the teak bench down on the edge of the water below the deck. Fun things to do while at the cabin: Watch the eagles and cormorants circle the cove from your lounge chair. Keep an eye out for "Lucy" the local seal to pop her head up, and the blue heron who likes to pose on one leg at the beach. Walk the rocky beach, exploring the tidelands. Hike the 3-mile roundtrip to the Vashon Winery through the beautiful Shinglemill Creek Preserve. Enjoy a camp fire at sunset. Due to the steep trail with stairs and switchbacks, this beautiful little place will appeal to hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. There are 78 wooden stairs and 8 switchbacks on the trail. This is what islanders call a "walk-in." A backpack will be easier to carry than a suitcase.

I couldn’t have asked for any better than this cottage for my weekend getaway for some R&R! It was just what I was looking for! I would recommend to anyone and would love to stay here again for a future trip. The home is cozy and the location tranquil. I enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning and taking in the beautiful outdoors. The kitchen was well stocked. Communication with the host couldn’t have been better, and I appreciated they allowed for some flexibility on check in/check out based on their other bookings. Wonderful cottage!

The location of this cabin was truly exceptional. Nestled right by the water's edge, it offered an uninterrupted panorama of the shimmering water, and each evening we were treated to the most magnificent sunsets. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow across the tranquil waters, was a sight that left us in awe. The accommodation itself was equally impressive. The hosts had thoughtfully designed a cozy and inviting space, perfect for unwinding and embracing the peace that the waterfront offered. The interior was tastefully decorated, and large windows allowed for plenty of natural light to flood in during the day. The kitchen had everything we needed, from cookware to utensils. We look forward to returning to this tranquil oasis.

Amazingly beautiful cabin, very secluded location. Even with the rain, the views were amazing and accessible, because of the patio overhand and the picture windows. Bed was high quality and comfy. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed. The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. Thanks!!

We adored our stay here with the ocean right outside. There’s a cute loft with two beds that was perfect for our kiddos to hang out, sleep in, & watch the ocean from. They felt like they had their own little club house. Lots of space outside to enjoy the ocean and walk around with our dogs. We enjoyed exploring low tides in the early parts of the day & hearing the ocean lap at high tide in afternoon/evening. A perfect setting for family time and bonding over some favorite games we brought from home. It’s important to note there’s a hike from the car parking to the cabin. It’s gorgeous, but worth keeping in mind— both for packing purposes & if there’s any mobility difficulties for guests. We enjoyed our experience during our stay. Thank you so much to our hosts for sharing your beautiful space & allowing our fur babies to come enjoy it with us! 💖

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage this weekend. Many, many things are provided such as drinking water, spices, oils and basic condiments. There is a fully equipped kitchen that has been remodeled. The beds are very comfortable. The decks and outdoor sitting areas are amazing! As you have read in many other reviews it is a challenging walk in and out. It was maybe 7 minutes downhill and 10-12 minutes going up and that was including resting a couple of times on the way up. That said pack light and use backpacks. We loved it so much we just booked it again for next year!

I wanted to be on the water and have a sunset view and this place certainly delivers on those items. They have really designed the property to have several incredible locations to hang out and enjoy your time outside on the water. The stairs are no joke for a lot of luggage and if you are leaving a lot throughout the day but it's a good bit of exercise to embrace and makes the property feel that much more secluded and worthwhile. I hope to come here again in the future when our daughter is older and explore the island that much more. Loved this place and it really made our time on Vashon that much more memorable. Thank you Linda and Bruce!
