Situated in Vancouver, this charming house for $272 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. The Space This thoughtfully designed 1145 sq ft home comes with an extra 300 sq ft private covered verandah The suite combines function and style in a spacious, open format that is comfortably contemporary and warm. Prepare breakfast in the comfort of your well-appointed European kitchen. Later on, host a lunch or dinner for friends, or business colleagues. The dining table extends to seat up to 8 in the open concept living area. Curl up and enjoy the glow of the fireplace. The mantel and the pass through/eating bar are both live edge maple slabs. On warm evenings take your cocktails and dinner onto the porch. Or, you could simply kick back on the comfy deck chairs looking out on the age-old trees and the passers by. Do you ever feel like a little pampering? Close the door to the main bath and enjoy. There’s enough space to relax with great fixtures and effective lighting. The master ensuite is a 3-piece with its own shower. What makes for a good nights sleep? Our mattresses will do their part. Choose between a Stearns and Foster king or two separate XL twin beds which are Posturepedic Libretto Eurotops and can be combined into a true king bed on request. . Whether in the kitchen, or on the couch and you can pair your mobile device to the Bluetooth sound bar. Guest Access Private, front path with level street access. Parking is in a designated spot at the back of the property from the rear lane and private side path to front door. The entry door has a keypad with a unique code for each rental. Your Hosts Hosts Mark and Joanne are available to answer questions in person and/or via phone/text/email. We try to welcome you personally to both familiarize you with the apartment and to answer any questions. The Neighborhood We live within 5 minutes walk from just about everything we need or want. This neighbourhood has beautiful multifamily homes, many new, but mostly the originals from 1910 to 1920, on a quite tree lined street. People are friendly and taking a stroll is a common activity. The resident mix is young and old, owners and renters, and the vibe is decidedly happy to be here and amid the calm it feels like things are happening. If you like flamenco the Kino Cafe on Cambie is 7 blocks away where its on several nights a week. Yek-O-Yek on Main is an excellent Middle Eastern deli. The best coffee shop is the 49th parallel on Main or straight up Columbia to 19th at the Mighty Oak. Amazing breakfasts at Slickety Jim's on Main and 18th. Getting Around The Canada Line from the airport to downtown (The Broadway Station) is 6 blocks away. Every necessary amenity is 3 to 5 blocks easy walk away. The east/west transit bus line (Broadway) is 4 hocks south. The north/south transit bus lines are 3 blocks away on both Cambie (into the downtown core) and Main (to China Town and Gas Town). Bike Lanes are every 4 blocks in all directions and have traffic calming features and are heavily used. The sidewalks are well maintained and crosswalks abound. We have a dedicated park spot for your car. Most of Vancouver is metered parking, or residents only, but 1 and 2 hours zones are common away from major routes. From the airport it is 15minutes by taxi or take the Canada Line to the Broadway Station. It is six blocks from there to the suite. About the House This 1912 house is in excellent condition with a lovely garden. This suite is the main floor with a private verandah. Parking is at the back of the house. House Rules 1) From 10pm until 8am please keep the noise way down. 2) No shoes at all in the house. 3) No smoking and sorry, but no pets. 4) The agreed upon number of tenants not to be exceeded. 5) No parties

We loved the house and the neighbourhood. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen had all of the amenities we needed. We would of liked to spend more time on the lovely front porch but it was a little chilly outside. Within walking distance to many coffee shops, restaurants and the train. A great place for a family or friends.

Everything about this VRBO is as described, though the porch is definitely bigger and nicer than the photos (it was our favorite spot for relaxing).
We really enjoyed the location since we could walk to parks, breweries, grocery store, coffee shops, live music and dancing, etc. There was a place to park our car, though we explored the area mostly on foot.

Wow. What a beautiful property. As advertised. It was very clean, quiet, spacious, had all of the amenities we needed and a large kitchen to prepare food. Lots of space for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) and having 2 separate bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 showers was very convenient. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. As for the location, we preferred that it wasn't downtown but not too far either. Only a 10 minute walk to a Skytrain station, and we enjoyed exploring a different neighbourhood of Vancouver (Main St, Cambie St) with great local stores, boutiques, coffee shops like 49th Parallel (donuts!) and restaurants nearby. There is a reserved car parking spot at the back of the property which was nice. Although we didn't use it much, there is a beautiful covered outdoor veranda with a table and chairs. Mark greeted us upon arrival and was very helpful with suggestions and ideas of things to do. A definite repeat if we come back to Vancouver! Thank you for having us!

We LOVED our brief stay here. It’s located on a beautiful quiet street located a few blocks away from 2 main corridors with shops & restaurants. The front porch is to die for. The kitchen is amazing. The rooms are spacious, beds comfy and 2 full bathrooms a bonus! Note: the second bedroom does not have an en-suite and requires navigation of 3 steps to get to a bathroom, motion sensing lights are in place to make this easily accomplished in the middle of the night!
The host was a great source of information and very responsive. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful time in this house. The area was so nice as well as the owners, very helpful and communicativ.We felt like in a village, quite area and the best thing was, we could walk to downtown (15-20 minutes).
Rooms were big, modern and very clean. Kitchen well equipped. We would stay here again.

It was a perfect stay, but one thing was a real problem for us. All 4 mattresses are toooooo soft for us. If this ist no problem for you, this is a perfect location for you !

We had the best time in Mark and Jo's house in Mt. Pleasant! It was a gorgeous neighborhood with lots of walk to and explore. Near metro stop and many coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance. The house was immaculate and our boys loved the room with the windows looking out to the beautiful tree lined street. My husband and I loved the porch. Mark was super helpful through out the stay with suggestions and recommendations when we had questions. Plus so hospitable. For a family, this was a terrific place for us and our favorite accommodations in BC!

The neighborhood is spectacular - close to everything with many cafes and restaurants within walking distance. We went to a lovely nearby coffee shop everyday of our stay. The house is very cute and clean. It is a renovated old pre-war home and thus we could hear the people upstairs watching tv and walking but it didn’t really bothered us. Thanks for having us!

The house was so comfortable to stay in. We loved the tree lined streets in the neighborhood and there were so many people out and about walking their dogs....it made it feel more like home.
Location is so convenient to restaurants, stores, and everything else. Would absolutely stay here again next time we visit Vancouver!

The beds were super comfy, the home warm and dry. Kitchen was full stocked with everything you may need, laundry was great (loved the felt dryer balls!) and even had a great coffee maker with all supplies!
We visited 31 Dec to 4 Jan and never heard another neighbour and had the bonus of snow, festive lights and even did the Polar Bear Dip on NY day!

What a perfect location for a stay in Vancouver - easy access to cafe's, supermarket and transport. e.g. Easy walk to Olympic Village where you can grab a ferry. Comfortable beds and everything we needed. Mark met us on arrival and was very welcoming and offered fantastic advice for our stay in Vancouver.

This accommodation was top quality and the hosts were so kind and responsive to any questions. We were welcomed upon arrival, and the apartment was perfect for us for biking and walking. Great biking lanes nearby, and we loved the whole experience. We highly recommend this location and apartment.

There’s not much we can add to the many accolades that have already been said about the joys of dealing with mark and jo and the absolute pleasure of staying at their well designed, comfortable and well situated house. Still, a few things to highlight. When mark told us to let them know if we needed anything, it was a genuine offer. Within minutes of asking whether he might have a steamer basket, he brought one over. When we asked if he knew anything about how much time we should allow to catch the ferry to Bowen island, he said he would check with his friend who was taking the same trip the day we asked. When we asked him his thoughts on some hiking areas we were considering, he not only weighed in but gave us more suggestions.
As someone already mentioned, the house truly is on the prettiest street in the neighborhood. The bathtub was divine and the water pressure in the shower was powerful enough to get through my thick head of hair. And for those of us allergy sufferers, the ubiquitous boxes of Kleenex were especially appreciated. Finally, it was refreshing that mark did not present us with a list of things we needed to do before leaving. That seems to be a rarity for vacation rentals these days and added to the already immense satisfaction of staying here.
We would have stayed again on our return trip to Vancouver, but the house was booked, as usual! It’s no surprise why mark and Jo’s place is in such high demand.
This delightful couple could write the book on hospitality.

2 young senior couples stayed 2 nights at Mark & Jo's place. It worked out perfectly for us - 2 bdrms, 2 bathrms, all on one floor, once up initial steps to rental which were no problem. The location is residential and on a beautiful street. Walked 3 blocks to Main St where there were MANY dining options. The unit was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable, safe stay. Response to any questions we had was excellent, informative, and quick. And meeting Dee, their on-site property mgr, in the owners' absence, was truly a highlight! She was so helpful & friendly. Thank you. We would absolutely rent this VRBO again.

This may be on one of the most beautiful tree lined streets in Vancouver! While there was a bit of confusion first trying to get the code for entry into the unit, the property owner Mark showed up and couldn’t have been nicer. He gave us a great orientation to the house and neighborhood. W”He also gave us some helpful suggestions as to where to dine. House was very comfortable. We stayed during a heat wave and while there was only one air conditioning unit, with the provided fans the place cooled down nicely. Great front porch too! Loved our stay here and would definitely come back if in town.

Charming neighborhood house
What a charming house built in 1911 on a tree lined street with similar houses. Our unit was recently totally redone inside but retaining the old world charm outside. The owner meet us and walked us through the nuances of the property. This was a nice personal touch! The house is on a quiet street. Parking for our car in the alley behind. The furniture is on the minimal side but adequate. The first night we walked to a nearby Thai restaurant and enjoy the beauty of the house and neighborhood. We ate our meal on the huge covered front porch in front. The house is within walking distance of many nearby shops and eating places plus not far from downtown. The property is well maintained and would definitely stay here again!

The location is absolutely perfect - it is at a walkable distance to downtown, granville island and host of restaurants and coffee spots. We didn't have a car and didn't miss it. Grocery stores are close by and we got everything we needed to make meals the times we didn't feel like heading out. The beds were very comfortable and layout of the house is excellent for a family to hang out and not feel cramped. I would love to be back here for our future trips.

Mark and Jo are by far the best hosts we have had - on so many dimensions: responsive, kind, well organized - going above and beyond. They were there if needed, and also 'gave us our space'. This property location is a terrific Vancouver neighborhood (we know the city): walkable to any goods or services needed. Oversize laundry a bonus as are two WC's. Thankyou!!

It’s overall better suited to adult guests or perhaps families with older children. There is a lot of glass furniture with which we had to be very diligent managing our kids. On day 2/3 the hosts asked us to reduce the amount of running and jumping our kids did in the suite, since they live directly below. A very valid request, but also extremely difficult to keep two small kids from running inside during the rainy Vancouver winter. It added a level of stress to our stay, out of concern for being a nuisance to anyone. I can imagine this situation would be less problematic with even slightly older children.
