We rented out the entire residence for a week. Everything was well stocked to get you started and the beach gear (bikes, boogie boards, umbrellas, etc.) were great. We’d definitely stay here again!

We have stayed in many wonderful vacation homes over the years and this one didn’t disappoint! Perfect location, beach access, a stunning view and room enough for our entire family of 10. Six adults and four children. We rented both units but spent most our time in the upstairs unit because of the view, nicely appointed kitchen, where we made dinner every night, plus a comfortable family room. Bedrooms are small but all bedrooms have king size beds which is hard to find and a plus in my book. No one had to fight for the bedroom with the king bed for a change! Garage was stocked with beach chairs, boogey boards, bikes, sand toys and more. We brought our own but didn’t need too. A couple of negatives but nothing that would keep us from recommending this home or stop us from going back, and I hope to do just that! The property managers, especially Jenny who we worked with was available to answer questions or bring us a few more towels when we asked for them and anything else we needed. Jenny was very caring, thoughtful and easy to work with, wanting us to have a good time, which we did. We just got home and unpacked. Already missing Carlsbad!

The furnishings and the bed were very comfortable and all of the appliances in the unit were of excellent quality. The knives were sharp, the coffee maker was a Cuisinart, the laundry machines were top of the line. The kitchen was extremely well furnished and all previous renters have left a wide variety of spices to use. Some coffee was furnished, enough for 2 days and detergents for all appliances (dishwasher and laundry) were included. We were very happy to have chosen the lower unit as the stairs could have been an issue for us 75 year olds. The outside fire pit was very nice and the outdoor furniture was perfect. The location of the unit was perfect in our exploration of the coast, close to everything, much in walking distance. We took the Coaster train to San Diego for the day, a perfect way to visit the city. The only thing we disliked was the traffic on the road in front of the house. We knew the road (4 lane) was there and were prepared for it, but sometimes the noise was bothersome. Nevertheless, we would highly recommend this property. It is a gem.

We rented the entire house for 4 nights. My husband and I and our 20 month old son stayed in the Pelican Suite (upstairs) and our friends and their 20 month old daughter stayed in the Dolphin Suite (main floor). The house was amazing! Located right across the street from the beach and walking distance to lots of stores and restaurants, the location was perfect. The house has modern, high end finishes with lots of windows providing great views of the beach, ocean and sunsets. Garage parking, laundry room, use of beach toys, bikes, etc....this place has everything you need for a great family vacation. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at the lower Dolphin Suite for 4 nights. It is a very nice property with beach chairs, bicycles, a great laundry room, etc. As mentioned, you can park in the garage. It's great. Parking is tight nearby, so there is no stress about parking. We had a couple of issues. A phone call to Patrick and both issues were resolved the same day. The Dolphin Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It was perfect for the two of us. It would also work well for a couple with two smaller children.

We rented the entire house out for a week and were amazed at the location, the property, and staff that greeted us. They were friendly and showed us everything that was available to us. The house came with all the beach stuff you could possibly need, two beach cruisers for rides into the little downtown area, and overall amazing amenities! We slept 8 comfortably! The beds were great, the kitchens were spacious, and the outdoor amenities were perfect. Even the parking was fantastic and we easily parked 4 cars in the garage and driveway. We really could not have chosen a more luxurious and well-appointed location for our big family vacation. Thanks so much for the wonderful stay!

We couldn't have asked for a better location. The crosswalk to the beach access is directly off the patio. It's also close enough to the Village that you are able to walk to restaurants, shops, etc. We had little need for our car. The Dolphin Suite was perfect for our family. It was very modern and updated, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The bedrooms were good sized. Even with the main road right outside the door, it was not too loud during the day with the doors closed and wasn't loud at night at all...something we seek out with our small kids going to bed pretty early. The laundry facilities were very handy and were equipped with detergent. My only caution with the Dolphin Suite was that you can hear every step the people staying upstairs are taking. We had a family of 3 staying upstairs during our visit, so not many people, and it was still very noticeable. Even so, I would still highly recommend this property! One item to note, the cleaning fee is to be paid upon check-out, not upfront. Be sure you have cash on hand for this.

We rented both floors for the whole family prior to a son's wedding in Carlsbad. Most of the out of town guests stayed at the Inn so the location worked perfectly for entertaining. We made it a point to see every sunset while we were there from the 2nd floor balcony. The place was beautiful. I can't wait to go back. The listing description was exactly as advertised. I would recommend this place to friends and relatives.

My husband and I rented the Pelican Suite (which is the upstairs suite of the house.) There are unobstructed 180 degree ocean views. It is simply breathtaking! We saw dolphins swimming each morning from the comfort of our living room and even saw a whale spouting offshore. The finishes are all top end and tastefully done. I am not a cook, but the kitchen has high end appliances and is well equipped with nearly every gadget you will need. You can easily walk to town for dinner. Patrick and Missy made the booking and check in process a breeze. Our deposit check was returned to us within three days of our return home. There was a young couple with a toddler downstairs in the Dolphin suite during the majority of our stay, and we did not hear a sound. The place is incredibly well insulated and private. Of note, this home is across the street from the beach and the road is very busy. Please DO NOT let this deter you. This unit is very quiet when closed up for evening, and the views more than make up for the busy street. The pedestrian crossing is right out the front door with stairs leading directly down to the beach. There are surfboards, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas provided. As well as, buckets, frisbees and shovels for any kids. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the linens top notch. I am very picky, and this home more than exceeded our expectations. I hesitate to write such a good review out of fear that the home will not be available when we want to return! We will certainly book this home again. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

OMG! What a beautiful rental. CLEAN! BEAUTIFUL! VIEWS! LOCATION! AMAZING, WELL-FURNISHED KITCHEN! FIREPIT! AND THE MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS EVER EXPERIENCED BY ALL! I was skeptical enough about this rental prior to booking that I had our in-laws drive by to check it out. Nope, it's for real. We rented both floors for a family of 8 (4 couples, no children), and for a surprise 60th birthday celebration. When we arrived, he couldln't believe we were staying there. The ocean was practically on the front lawn, and whales ... yes, whales ... were swimming by. We saw them again on Tuesday right before we left. Miserable weather couldn't even destroy this stay. The only caution I would want to share, if you are considering this rental, would be that you ARE right on the street/highway, and you do hear the traffic along with the waves. However, I wouldn't let it stop me. You are also able to watch surfers, whales, bikers, runners, walkers, boats, fishermen, helicopters, sunsets and more ... from the sofa. And we turned on a fan at night.

We were so thrilled to be able to rent a beach house this year for our family's vacation and Carlsbad At The Beach surpassed all expectations. They had EVERYTHING at the house that we could've possibly needed. A surfboard for my husband's surf lesson, a highchair for our 6 month old, games for our 4 year old, a hairdryer and wine glasses for me :) Not to mention, the house lines up with both the crosswalk to cross the street to the beach and the staircase to get down there - ideal when you have two small children! The two parking spots were such a plus as beach parking on a holiday weekend can come at a premium. We were able to walk to the grocery store, multiple restaurants and bars, all within a half mile radius. We stayed in the lower unit the "dolphin suite" and never heard the upstairs neighbors once! The front yard with the firepit and BBQ were perfect for get togethers and sunsets. It had all the creature comforts as home!

Everything about this home is amazing! Location, accommodations, closeness to town, and the beach, beach beach. Visiting with my two adult sons-we had an incredible time! Patrick is a wonderful host, very accommodating-got us Big Ten so we could watch Ohio State win!

The location, property and price all contributed to the best rental experience we've ever had. Easy walk to Carlsbad Village (pizza port brewery, shops, restaurants, etc) or across the street to the beach (never crowded and no riff raff) House had everything we needed. We found Jimbos Natural Grocery store close by where we stocked up on good stuff to eat and drink. The home is on a pretty busy road and stretch of beach for people exercising. Walking across the street is super easy - cars will stop for you every time. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony (Pelican Suite) and people watching but found that it was a bit to noisy to leave the doors open all the time. Home is well insulated so no issues with doors closed. Again, we've simply not found a better combination of property, price and location in our 5 years of doing this. Communication with property manager was always prompt, courteous and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed in the downstairs Dolphin Suite over Memorial Day, and it couldn't have been better. Home is very inviting, very modern with an open floor plan and great patio for viewing the water, watching sunsets, and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit! Very close to downtown; steps from the beach; and a short drive to Legoland. Traveled with my wife and young boys, and we absolutely had a blast! Will definitely be coming back in the future! Upstairs unit has even better views and nice balcony seating, but you do sacrifice the spacious patio!

This vacation home was exactly as advertised if not better, my daughter her two girls and myself spent a week in this great home. The location was excellent, a walk across to the beach, 5 minute walk to village and easy access to I-5, or great scenic ride down the coastline. It is a great place to kick back and people watch or take part in a very active community. You won't be disappointed.

Carlsbad at the Beach is an incredible high-end vacation experience. The Pelican Suite (top floors) is open and spacious with amazing ocean views right across the street. Yes, the photos are real! Grab the supplied beach chairs & boogie boards and head to the water. Or sit outside on the veranda and watch the surfers, dog walkers, joggers, and beautiful sunsets that spill into this home. If the ocean tides don’t pull you to the sand & water you will be very happy staying inside this gorgeous home with its fine furnishings and creature comforts (great bed & bedding!). The organized kitchen is a dream with all the appliances and cookware necessary to indulge in culinary delights. As with any home away from home, the communication with the owner sets the tone for a great experience. Patrick is kind, generous and communicative. He insured the stay at Carlsbad at the Beach was a perfect experience. Looking forward to a return visit!

We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived to a beautifully appointed home. It had all the best of everything, down to the sheets! It was so conveniently located across from the beach and within walking distance to town which we did every morning. Patrick, was wonderful and very accomodating making sure everything was perfect. We enjoyed the firepit every night and of course the people watching. We cannot wait to return next year.

This property has a wow factor when you first walk in...modern living, newly done, and a state of the art kitchen. The owners have thought of everything, from the chairs and towels for the beach, to some games for in house times. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and loved that Carlsbad Village was just a short stroll away, along the beach / boardwalk. From the morning cup of coffee watching the early beach walkers, to the evening sunsets, we never got tired of having the ocean right out our windows.
