About this house rental
Nestled in Dartmouth, this lovely house for $296 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Starting in May 1, 2015, we have welcomed guests to enjoy our 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house in the heart of Central Halifax. Our home is seconds from Citadel Hill, and Halifax's Waterfront, and is directly across the street from the Halifax Common and Emera Skating Oval. The house has a large back deck with BBQ, a great place to relax before and after venturing out to enjoy the city and surroundings. The house has three levels. Upstairs features 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The main level is made for entertaining, with an open kitchen and a bright living room. The back sunroom leads to the tranquility of the large deck. Downstairs is made for lounging with a recreation room and bar, to go with another bedroom and a full bathroom. This house was our family home for 10 years, but it was time to move to a spot with a bit more room for our family! Check in: 4 pm Check out 10 am

We enjoyed our stay at the Orange house in Halifax. It is very convenient to downtown and within walking distance. It was a great accommodation for our 3-generation family. John was a very good host with prompt replies to any questions. There were even some age-appropriate toys for our grandchildren which was a treat. supermarkets were nearby. Nice to have parking in the driveway.

The location is perfect with everything within walking distance...waterfront, parks, gardens, citadel. House was nice and big for our family. We were there when it was close to 90 degrees and there was no air conditioning so that was a bit rough. My only issue was that there were no shades in the master bedroom, very thin curtains so you were up when the sun was up. 5:30am a bit too early for me on vacation, other than that would have given it a 5 star.

Canadian Thanksgiving With Family
We stayed the first time in December 2019 to celebrate Christmas with friends and family in Halifax and from out-of-province. We enjoyed it so much we booked the property again to celebrate Thanksgiving. Central location. Clean. Very comfortable beds. Lots of space. New furniture and decorations since Dec 2019 which resulted in more space and less clutter. Property manager is very nice and responsive.

Christmas with family and friends
Great location! Easy walk to downtown. Right across the street from an outdoor skating oval. Comfortable beds. Lots of space. All the amenities work well. Adequately provisioned. 250-metre walk (i.e. 4 minutes) to a convenience store and a 1-kilomtre walk (i.e. 14 minutes) to an Atlantic Superstore which is a major grocery store chain in the Maritimes.
One couple can have their own room with a king-sized bed and access to their own bathroom with walk-in shower in the basement. Another king-sized bed upstairs in the master that includes a full ensuite bathroom. A third full-bathroom easily shared between those staying in the second and third bedrooms on the top floor. Queen-sized beds in the second and third bedrooms upstairs. Everyone found their bed comfortable and everyone slept well.
The property manager Leanne is excellent; friendly, kind, considerate and responsive. I had a question for her on Boxing Day (i.e. December 26) that I resolved to ask her on December 27 since December 26 is a public holiday in Canada. Who shows up in person on December 26 to check in on us to make sure everything was fine? Leanne. We forgot some medicine and vitamins behind; Leanne found it and sent it to me via courier.
Definitely will stay at The Orange House again and recommend it very highly (except when we want to use it ;))

Cottage was very clean & comfortable. Easily accommodated 8 guests. An ideal location to explore Halifax on foot & the Halifax region by vehicle. We really had a great stay.

What you see is what you get!
Very comfortable for our group of 8 sisters. Close to everything - the Citadel is basically across the street. Owner John responded promptly to our request to check in a little early and check out a little late to accommodate our flight times and it was very much appreciated. We definitely recommend this house for larger groups or families.

Property was very roomy, tastefully decorated, well stocked, impeccably clean, and a great place for our party of nine. Nice backyard deck. Communication with owner was terrific. We would highly recommend it for your stay in Halifax.

Spacious property in the downtown.
This newly renovated home is perfect for visitors who want to walk to almost anywhere in central Halifax. It is a spacious and beautiful home with everything you need to enjoy your visit.

A lovely home in a great location
The house was perfect for our group. It was spacious with great communal areas. The location is perfect for exploring Halifax. John and Jennifer were very accomodating and east to communicate with in the lead up our trip.

Amazing location
Its better to be lucky then good... and we were extremely lucky! The house was amazing, perfect location to get a feel for an amazing city, short walk to the waterfront (20 minutes), park across the street and so many small streets full of shops, restaurants and pubs. We had 12 in total, 4 kids and everyone was well accommodated for, sleep and lots of common space to hang out. Parking not a problem, met the owners of the Thai Chi center next door, happy to let us park an extra truck in their lot over the weekend (do ask first though). Overall, we felt like this was the perfect home for us, thank you! Suggestion... put a information sheet together for places close by, i.e. where to go for Pizza, seafood and place to do some food shopping.

Love this rental!
Great location, huge well kept home, and very clean. Hosts were very responsive and friendly when we had questions.
Only downside is that there is not much parking besides street side so just keep that in mind when planning. Would recommend to anyone!

Perfect Halifax house!
This home rental was amazing! It afforded a diverse range of spaces and rooms for our group and had space for everyone to spread out and work through a week long conference. The house is super convenient to the convention centre, waterfront, and night life, and right across the street from a huge park. Everything is well lit and safe at night. We did not have a car, took the bus from the airport, walked to and from the convention centre daily, walked out at night, and even walked to the grocery store to stock up for the week and benefit from the well stocked kitchen.

Family gathering in Nova Scotia
The house was exactly as promised. Awesome location within easy walking to the waterfront and downtown attractions. The owner was very helpful. We were 4 couples (family), and had lots of space to be together or to spread out. Would recommend this property and if we return to Halifax would love to stay again . Thanks !!

Idéal pour la famille
La maison est bien située. Le centre ville, le quai, les restaurants et la citadelle sont accessibles à pied. La maison est très confortable et la cuisine est rénovée. J'ai apprécié la grandeur de la chambre principale ainsi que la chambre de bain adjacente. Points négatifs, la poignêe de la porte arriêre est brisée et un des lits du 2e êtage est sous un plafond en pente, ce n'est pas agréable d'y dormir.
