About this cottage rental
Located in Charlevoix, this charming cottage for $259 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Charming, airy and bright 3 BR/1.5 BA cottage in Charlevoix is just a ten-minute walk from two beautiful Lake Michigan beaches – one that’s dog-friendly & one that’s great for the kids with a playground area and lighthouse. It's also just a short drive to Castle Farms (4 miles) or Jordan Valley Barn wedding venue (15 miles) if you are coming to Charlevoix to celebrate a wedding. The first floor has an open floor plan with hardwood floors throughout, two bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full) and a full bath. Upstairs is a large, carpeted bedroom with 2 twins, bunk beds (4 beds total upstairs) and half bath. Please note: the bunks are small and only rated up to 100 lbs each and have thin, cot-type mattresses. The maximum number of adults this property can accommodate is 6. 8 guests allowed including two or more children. The layout works well for a family, group of friends, or a couple wanting a spacious getaway. New this year - central air conditioning!! Also, downstairs bedrooms have ceiling fans. Enjoy grilling on the back deck overlooking a large backyard or walk to Lake Michigan to watch the sunsets. It's also an easy, pleasant walk to dinner, coffee, outdoor concerts, charming shops, the Thursday farmer's market and drawbridge on Bridge Street. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of linens to make you feel right at home. House-trained dogs are welcome with an additional fee and you will find that Charlevoix is a very pet-friendly town. Dogs are not permitted on the carpeted second floor of the home, may not be left tied out in the yard, and pet waste must be removed from the yard before checkout. Please note: no wi-fi is provided from Oct 30-May 20. Wi-fi is available at the library two blocks away during the off-season. STR license approved by City of Charlevoix. Overall, wonderful place to stay. Walked everywhere, kitchen fully equipped. We are not used to heat, so would have liked A/C and darker curtains, but we were warned about this beforehand! Also, basement light was out. Otherwise, all great!

Easy walk to town and beach through neighborhood . Earl Young hobbit houses scattered in neighborhood which makes for interesting walks.

The exterior seemed just a tiny bit weathered or in need of paint relative to other places in the neighborhood so when we pulled into the driveway we weren’t sure what to expect inside but it was lovely, charming and wonderful. Perfect location, we walked into town many times, and to the lake. Inside was cozy and felt like a cabin in the woods despite being a half mile from the city center. There are enough beds for 4 kids and two couples (including a loft upstairs for the kids) but it’s probably from a square foot standpoint a bit small for that unless you get along super well with the other family. We’d absolutely bring our kids there alone though. We will probably rent again, but likely just ourselves since it was just so nice and relaxing that way. Highly recommend.

We were very disappointed with our stay. It was very costly for a very unpleasant experience. We arrived and the house was brutally hot. It seems like it had not been used because of the smell and temperature. There was no air conditioning and there was a broken fan in the dumpster. I asked if there was AC and was told by the owner that I could bring a mattress down from upstairs if it was that hot for my guests (my two young children and husband). The owner mistakenly texted me instead of her manager and wrote “they probably didn’t even open the windows upstairs” which was quite rude when we had opened the windows and even brought in our own fans to make it more bearable. It would have been nice if someone would have opened the house up before we came to pull the hot air out like the owner said we should do. We were not able to use the upstairs at all while we were there due to the heat. It was definitely not worth what we paid for not sleeping well the whole time (due to the heat) and the owner basically saying that’s how Northern MI houses are in the summer. Huge huge disappointment to not want to be in a house at all you rented for 4 days.

Very Comfortable and Homey
We stayed at Jennifers place while we attended a wedding in Charlevoix at Castle Farms (which is only 3 miles away). And the minute we walked into her home, we felt very comfortable. It was clean, it contained everything we needed to cook, and the location was perfect. Walking distance to downtown Charlevoix and Lake Michigan. It was our first trip to Charlevoix and we definitely plan on being back.

Perfect charming house for our family vacation!
We loved staying in this cute clean house, it had everything we needed and made our stay so easy and comfortable. We all slept great on the comfy beds and the info provided and WiFi made it easy for us to make plans. We were able to walk almost everywhere and made quite a few meals at the house. We have a 1 and 3 year old and found the house to be very kid friendly and the movies really helped on rainy days. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Jennifer was wonderful communicating with us about what we needed to bring to make our weekend perfect! Her cottage is beautiful and clean. We were extremely comfortable and close to downtown. We walked to the beach every night to watch the sun go down. Perfect for our family get away.

Great Weekend Home
We were in town for a wedding and this was a perfect spot. Just a short walk or drive away from town and the lake, we were able to visit some nice spots in Charlevoix. The home was nice and worked perfectly for the weekend for the 6 of us. The old VHS Disney tapes were a nice bonus as well

Charming home close to town!
We recently stayed at Serenity Cottage for a family getaway for NYE weekend. The home was so charming and had everything we needed. It was a spacious home for 2 adults, 3 kids and our family dog. I would highly recommend this home to families looking for a nice, clean place in town. Plenty of fresh linens and towels provided.
