About this cottage rental
Located in Kailua, this attractive cottage for $151 per night is a great choice for your next trip. This quiet 400-square foot cottage sits by the blue-tiled pool and offers the perfect resting spot after a full day of activities or a sleepy day on the beach. It offers a full bath and kitchenette with full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven. Due to local zoning regulations, our minimum rental contract is for 30 DAYS. Longer terms also available. The studio is detached from the owner-occupied main house and has a private side entrance and dedicated parking space. Come and go as you please. Guests have full use of the pool, pool deck, and private lanai for outdoor dining. Wireless internet and cable TV/BluRay provided. Less than two minutes walking to the end of the street will bring you to world famous Kailua Beach, which is reached via a private gate. And a few minutes driving brings you to downtown Kailua, where you can enjoy dining, shopping, and the unique feel of one of the last true beach towns. Dear Vacationer. Hawaii was a wonderful experience but this tiny guest house was not worth the money at all! First, I was not given the proper basic info initially during booking! As of which island is the guest house is on?! It say’s Kailua, HI! Which was confusing because There is another town with the same name in Kona! Please be aware! This guest house is in Kailua, OAHU, Honolulu! Which resulted of me purchasing 2 tickets one going to Kona airport and the other to HNL! Home owner failed to mention this important information which costed me an extra ticket that he refuses to refund! Second What you see is not what you get! It’s missing a laundry facility and a cooktop and privacy! Even though it is powered by solar power he had the yard pitch black after dark! Third! If you plan on sleeping in on your vacation…well he advised you won’t be able to do so! The pool filter is so loud it won’t allow you to relax … the filter is flush to the room wall and it kinks in super LOUD from 9:00 AM-4PM!! Fourth, In the picture it shows a nice open pool…but once you get there it’s all FENCED-UP and there is a BIG FILTER HOSE inside the pool which makes it uncomfortable and annoying to swim in! Fifth, this property and the surrounding properties had Gardner’s on each day of the week which made it so very loud to relax and to enjoy the room! NO PRIVACY! LOUD!

Perfect!
Everything we needed for a peaceful getaway. Well equipped-there isn’t a stove/oven but there is a hot plate and grill for use. The cottage was a short walk to the beach where we walked and watched the sunrise every morning m. Bob was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Can’t wait to return!

Vacation in Paradise
My wife and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and truly enjoyed this wonderful vacation rental! The home is only a 2 minute walk to the beach, which is accessible via a private walkway. Thanks to this and the fact that it isn't near the public parking area, we had a very private and exclusive slice of paradise to ourselves! We saw a few people walking the beach, but otherwise it was quiet and peaceful.
The neighborhood where the rental is located is very peaceful as well. When we did interact with locals they were all very nice. Several neighbors waved to us and said hi. The oasis this location offers is perfect for relaxing, a much appreciated difference from Waikiki.
The place was extremely clean and well kept, and is and the perfect amount of space for 2 people on vacation. It was great having a kitchenette because we were able to save some money on food. Bob has provided everything you could need and more! He was kind enough to let us use beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, a beach umbrella, boogie boards, and a rain umbrella, all of which came in handy. It was great having these items to use and not having to worry about renting or returning equipment.
Bob and his wife were very kind and friendly! We often spoke with them briefly if we ran into them while leaving or coming in and they provided some great tips on the best spots to enjoy. They also respected our privacy, so it was a perfect balance for us between interacting with the host and having our own space. He is very easy to communicate with and responds very quickly.
Overall, we absolutely loved staying here and hope to do so again for our next stay. I can't say enough about the awesome hosts and their wonderful home!

Kailua Bay and the nearby beach are gorgeous. Perfect sandy beach, no rocks to stumble on. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking, whether it is a drive along the coastline or through the mountains. Nice little getaway from the craziness of Waikiki and Honolulu.

Comfortable and close to beach
We really loved staying in this studio cottage. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was a good supply of linens, a big closet with hangers, and A/C that was quiet, clean and effective (but didn't need to be used all the time because of good ventilation from many windows). The beach is a half a block away, and the pool was a real bonus, plus the lanai for outdoor eating, and lots of outside hooks for drying out towels and swimsuits. Bob and his family were truly gracious too, while also giving us a lot of privacy.

The owners are very nice. They have the cottage set up very cute. Kitchenette was clean and nicely stocked with newer items. Relaxing by the pool was lovely. Extra amenities like beach towels, chairs and other items were very appreciated! We highly recommend visiting this property. Aloha

Home away from home.
This was our second stay and I hope not the last. It feels like home to us. Bob and Roni always make us feel at home. The beach is literally steps from the cottage. We loved opening the doors and keeping them open to let the trade winds cool the cottage. We also enjoyed the new AC! Mahalo Bob and Roni.

Quiet guest cottage in Kailua
After spending the first three days of our trip in busy Waikiki arriving at Bob and Roni's charming guest cottage felt like a breath of fresh air. We usually vacation in Maui and were hoping that the windward side of Oahu and the town of Kailua would feel as laid back and relaxing as our favorite island. It did not disappoint. The cottage had everything we needed for the five days we stayed. The private garden with a charming pool was really a delight to return to each day after exploring the island of Oahu. I particularly enjoyed getting up each morning and opening the doors to let the tropical breeze blow through and eating my breakfast outside by the pool. The bed was comfortable and the ceiling fan provided a nice cool breeze to sleep under each night. The only perhaps negative thing I would like to mention is that the shower curtain rod in the bathroom is quite rusty and makes it difficult to pull the shower curtain across. I only mention this because I think that Bob and Roni obviously put a lot of thought and care into making their guests comfortable and would appreciate the feedback. Overall we would definitely recommend this tranquil oasis and hope to return one day soon.

A beautiful cottage with great amenities in an awesome location!
We are so grateful that we found this wonderful cottage to rent. Everything about our vacation was sublime. Bob and Roni are so kind, knowledgeable, welcoming, and attentive. There'd been no one in the cottage the night prior to our arrival and Bob generously allowed us to check in early, which was perfect since our flight arrived at 6:30 a.m. We stopped for a few groceries and a bottle of wine on our way over and immediately felt at home when we arrived. The cottage looks great in photos but it's even more impressive in person. Set in a lovely garden, the private cottage has ample storage and appealing decor. It has AC but we never needed it -- the fresh air through the windows was just right and allowed us to hear the breeze through the palms. The proximity to the beach is amazing. We went to the beach at least twice a day to enjoy the soft sand and soak in the views. Bob and Roni gave us great suggestions for local restaurants, hikes, and activities. All of their referrals were spot-on and we appreciated being able to text Bob with questions. The neighborhood is very safe and peaceful yet it's only a few minutes to drive to a great town. Staying there was a dream come true. I wish we could go back right now! Mahalo!

Beautiful location!
Every chance we had to walk down to our private beach (Not private but it felt like it) we did. The location is perfect to get everywhere on the island without being a tourist trap. I recommend Over Easy for a quality breakfast stop. Our host was very helpful. The locals also gave us great ideas for places to visit. We definitely had a dream vacation! Aloha

Perfect location and incredible cottage
We love Kailua and this property is in the perfect location in an upscale neighborhood with a quick walk to the beach and a few minute drive to downtown. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing vacation, including a refreshing pool. The cottage was completely furnished and had plenty of outlets for multiple computers and phones! It's the little things that make it extraordinary. The owners provide beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, and an ice chest for your day on the beach. I would without a doubt stay here again.

We just returned from our stay here for our honeymoon, and we were very happy with this rental. Kailua is an excellent vacation destination as it has the right mix between amenities and the quiet beach town lifestyle. This property is located about 1/2 a block from the beach, and we made the short walk every day during our stay.
The owners are fantastic and friendly hosts, which is something that you would always want when renting a vacation property. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our vacation. The pool is a great bonus as well!
I would definitely recommend this property to any friends or relatives who are considering an Oahu vacation.

This property is absolutely beautiful! My husband and I stayed for four nights and never wanted to leave. The owners were so friendly, gave us our privacy but was available whenever needed! The beach is literally steps away. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for something quiet and close to the beach. It truly is the perfect Oasis!!

This place has everything you need for a relaxing vacation either on the beach or by the pool.
You have a gas grill and a kitchen at your disposal, so theres no problem cooking at home. The market is a bit far, but if you live in Kailua you probably have a car anyway.You will be pleased to know that travelers with car have their own parking spot.
Although the pool is shared with the family living there - they give you plenty of privacy.
Speaking of the family; Bob is the perfect host. He takes care of all your needs and answers all of your questions. The whole family is really nice - and they made us feel at home. One night when we were walking back from town, they saw us by the road, picked us up and drove us home. Its the kind of treatment you dont expect from a host.
The beach is a 2 minute walk down the road. It has perfect white sand, and a good place for boogie boarding, watching the sunrise, sunbathing etc. Yet - there are almost no people there (!), in Europe a beach like that would be packed.
As I said in my headline - this place is all over great. And I want to thank Bob and his family for the stay.

We had never spent any great deal of time in Kailua, though we had been to Hawaii many times. We always thought Oahu was just the Waikiki beach scene and not really our kind of deal. This cottage truly was the "perfect oasis". Private, clean, quiet with ready access to a wonderfully maintained swimming pool steps from our front door. Less than a three minute walk through a lovely neighborhood put us at a private entrance to Kailua Beach. I never realized that a beach like this existed anywhere in Hawaii. The sand is white and you can walk for miles with changing scenery and weather every day. We particularly liked the fact that this was one of the only dog friendly beaches on Ohau. Having lost our dog a year ago, we enjoyed the constant show of well behaved dogs frequenting the beach. The cottage was clean, newly remodeled and tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed in an effecient kitchen, full bathroom, sleeping and sitting area. There was ample storage for our things. We slept with the french doors and windows open so that we could hear the wind and the palm trees and smell the wafting scent of Plumeria from the neighbors tree.
The owners were friendly and accommodating but made clear that our privacy was to be respected, though at our urging we kept trying to play with their new Labrador puppy.
We thought maybe we could stay here without a car, but that might be somewhat cumbersome, though there is a Safeway and a few restaurants within a half-mile walk to the north. The better eating choices were about 2 miles Southwest in Kailua town. Surprisingly, we found the deli at Whole, Foods to be a healthy alternative to restaurant food with interesting healthy choices, outside seating and live music on Fridays. The best food we had out was at Buzzes restaurant across from Kailua public beach. We cooked most of our food at the cottage on the nice outdoor gas BBQ and ate on the patio with the peaceful setting. All in all this cottage, and its owners, vastly exceeded our expectations in all areas. We would give this cottage our highest recommendation, we fully intend to return for another visit .

My husband and I absolutely loved this quiet little pool house in Kailua! Beautifully finished with everything we needed, we couldn't have been happier! The owners are a wonderful family and made us feel right at home while giving us total privacy. The cottage has brand new appliances, dishes, linens, towels, BBQ, induction hot plate, blender, beach chairs and even wifi and Netflix. It was a great location to come home to after exploring the island. We loved the beach town of Kailua, Lanikai Beach, the drive to the North Shore, Turtle Bay Resort, Hanauma Bay, Manoa Falls Hike and the Makapu (lighthouse) Hike to watch the sunrise. So much to do, we wished we could have stayed longer!

I planned this getaway for my Boyfriend's 30th birthday. If you want to be in the middle of the hustle bustle and nightlife well this isn't the place for you, in fact why are you going to Hawaii? BUT if you want a hidden gem/oasis with a walk to the beach and a true Hawaiian experience, THIS is your place. Upon arrival your greeted with a warm Aloha from the owners who make you feel like family. Your then guided to your private abode, stocked with all the accommodations you could ask for. Your private bathroom, a small kitchenette (yes there is a blender for pina coladas ;) and most importantly a very comfortable bed. The whole room opens up to the view of a beautiful pool and the trees. You awaken to the ocean breeze and birds singing, you truly feel the island life. The room is very clean and they even provided beach towels. He also put together a booklet that describes things to do around the island and rules. (NO SMOKING) Under the TV, there are some books that provide insight to island life and great ideas for things to see. AND SERIOUSLY, the two minute walk to the private beach is beautiful too. You can drive to locations like the North Shore and Waikiki easily from this location. You also have your own parking spot so that's another perk. Basically, I would've moved in if they had let me. But alas, I had to return to real life. You won't regret this decision and i honestly wouldn't write to tell you about it because I'd like to keep it my secret. But I like them so I will. Haha. This was a great cottage for our stay. We loved the proximity to the beautiful Kailua Beach. It was also nearby Kailua town, which made it quite convenient. We had beach towels and chairs plus boogie boards to use at the beach. The cottage is on the owner's property. He was available if we needed anything, yet he also gave us the privacy we desired. The cottage (and house) is beautifully built and decorated. The pool is next to the cottage and quite inviting. This was a nice place to spend a week.
