Very close to village and waterfront; a near perfect location. If train noise disturbs you then look elsewhere, as this place is half a block from the tracks. Large living room, but in need of an update on one couch. Some rooms are a bit dark. Second bedroom has twin beds and is small. Owner has unit above rental so you don’t have a stand alone house. Never met the owner, but he was quick to comply with requests. I would probably rent again.

The owners were generous and cordial from the start! I emailed them with questions and get a quick reply. Check in was easy and the owners stayed to themselves, upstairs, in their completely separate flat. They park and enter in back, whereas guest park and enter in front. The house is beautiful and has everything one would need on vacation, including beach chairs and towels. The beach and the town of Montecito were short, easy walks from opposite directions. The highways and thoroughfares were very close, making the drive to Santa Barbara, the Mission, the Wharf, etc., quick and simple. This will be our go-to home away from home from now on. Also, we ordered gourmet meals from Chef Edie Robertson, who also gets 5 stars in every catagory.

What a delightful place in a prime Montecito location! The owners, who couldn’t be nicer, have done a beautiful job—the furnishings were elegant, the linens were luxurious, and the kitchen was well-appointed. The backyard was where we spent much time in ideal weather. This is a happy place, and we hope to return for another stay soon!

Great stay. Listing is accurate, 5 minute walk to Butterfly Beach, 10 minute walk to Montecito restaurants. Property is the ground floor of a house and the owners are upstairs but totally separate entrances. Owners were very helpful and assisted with delivery of an unplanned FedEx, but you can hear them walking around, though it wasn’t a problem for me. Train is close by, but not a negative as the whistle doesn’t blow after 10pm, is very infrequent and moves on quickly. Very clean property but the location is the main selling point if you are looking for walking in Montecito, and the beach in Santa Barbara is also an easy morning walk. Small backyard very convenient for my dog and a nice afternoon read. I would definitely stay here again.

If you want a home base where you have a five minute walk to either a beautiful beach (Butterfly Beach) or downtown Montecito with its shops, restaurants and CVS then this is the one for you. Additionally, other beach cities line the 101 both north and south, and inland hiking and further exploration is just a few minutes drive away. The owner was very responsive and cared about the quality of our stay without being at all intrusive. The fenced yard worked well for our dog and for outdoor dining and barbecue. All in all, a great stay at this home away from home. 🙂
