Just as presented. Exactly what needed - restful and beautiful area.

This apartment is in a historic house and is so cool - the architecture and decor work so well together. Four balconies, including one with ocean views that is large enough for loungers and a fountain. Easy walking distance to PCH, and nice walking distance to the Strand and the harbor. Loved it all!

This property has a lot of character and is in a good location. It's a nicely decorated, roomy one-bedroom upstairs apartment. Our only caution would be for older or sight compromised renters--the outside stairs, which could use better lighting, make a sharp turn halfway up without a landing that might be troublesome for some renters. But overall, this was a lovely rental.

Historic property. Beautifully decorated. Breezy balconies. Just needed a place to stay but got a true vacation.

What a truly unique stay!! We loved the history of the home, the location, the historic but absolutely relevant energy of the home. We will definitely be back!!

Had a wonderful stay here and loved the house and location. Pretty convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Great views from our balcony, grill on back balcony, comfortable bed and plenty stocked with kitchen cookware and utensils. Great features and accents throughout were true to history of the home

Excellent location. Fantastic ambiance. We were in town to celebrate our anniversary and attend a wedding in San Juan Capistrano. Couldn't have picked a better place. We loved everything about it.

A time capsule...I love history...and this place truly took me back in time..
I enjoyed it...parking can be challenging and the stairs a bit edgy..so just be very careful with that .. lovely place indeed.

We could not have stayed at a better place then this incredible home. This was the perfect place to celebrate our 10th wedding Anniversary. I am quite sure that we will stay here again.

This is a charming property, close to everything in Dana Point. The balconies and fireplace really take it to the next level. There are some wonderful plants in the yard, including a fragrant cabbage palm that smells like jasmine. The neighborhood can be a bit noisy at night, but I was prepared for that after reading other reviews.
I would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you!

This was a great property. The neighborhood is a little noisy but somewhat to be expected in the lantern district of Dana point. The unit was very comfortable and, aside from a few inconveniences, was well worth the stay. I would certainly return and look forward to the opportunity.

I had the absolute best time at the Spanish Revival. I stayed an extra 2 days! The Spanish decor takes you back in time with every little detail. I loved the ocean view with coffee and wine out on the balcony. There are 4 balconies to choose from!! John is the best host. My only question, is it for sale? This is my go to when in Dana Point. Thanks John😊

My husband and I had a great stay at Dana Point in this historic property. We were impressed with the ‘old Spanish’ feel yet modern comfort of the apartment. The kitchen was well stocked but we didn’t really do any cooking. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance. All in all a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

Convenient to get around the Orange County area and a fun little retreat.

This is a special property - thoughtfully put together and offered as a unique Dana Point apartment. Everything was very well equipped and unique. Not even complaints, but of helpful note to future renters, the steps to access are a bit cumbersome so be very careful. Also, the decor is very old world and beautiful, but it is very very dark at night. I think a bright reading light or two would be a great addition. That said, though, I would highly recommend this rental!

everything was great. the only down side was that about every night about midnight to about 2am you could hear the TV from the downstairs tenants, it wasn't extremely loud, but just enough to hear and cause a little restless sleep for those times.

We spent a lovely weekend in Dana Point. The property is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and the beach. Very comfortable for a weekend get away.

Gorgeous location, parking was easy (unlike most beach cities) and had plenty of space for us to enjoy inside and out. I will share the stairs are no joke! Built in the 20s and an amazing style but not for those that aren’t sure footed

It was rich with history and well preserved

Mostly pleasant
Decor was pretty cool and it was staged nicely; however, not the cleanest upon arrival (dusty, hair in shower, etc). The hot water was virtually absent from the kitchen sink (low water pressure) and, while the outside amenities (balcony, etc) was nice, the incessant construction across the way didn't improve the atmosphere. Overall, a decent stay - if cleaner and without the construction.

We enjoyed our stay in the Lantern District. Many things were within walking distance. The neighborhood was very quiet, and parking was easy. Bed was very comfortable, and the extra long couch was amazing. Also appreciated the small office area.
The decoration is very eclectic, and just as pictured. I loved looking at all the old books, and the paintings of the area were cool as well. Also, loved all the outdoor space, just wish the weather had been a little warmer while we were there.
Kitchen had plenty of dishes and cookware if you wanted to cook. Lots of spices provided, and tea. My only wish would have been to have coffee provided, at least for first day since we got in late, and did not have time to go to store the night before. Not a complaint, just a suggestion.
Manager was very prompt in response, and location was easy to find and access.

All in all, this house was a great find.
The location is really convenient. We could easily walk to the farmer’s market, the harbor, to restaurants, or just explore Dana Point. The largest of the balconies is a delight to sit on and sip coffee in the early morning and enjoy the vegetation and the view. Parking was easy, even on street-sweeping days. The bed was comfy, and the shower was great. The whole set up was original, quirky, and fun. We would likely rent it again on a return trip.
We did, however, have some reservations.
Our first request for help from the manager was fulfilled immediately; our second was totally ignored; and for the third, we were given the obvious work-around but the problem (with the exterior lock) wasn’t resolved—and needs to be as we had trouble getting in one night — after which we locked only the door at the top of the stairs.
The lighting in both the living space and the kitchen leaves something to be desired. There’s not enough light for two people to read, knit, or do anything else that requires decent lighting in the living space. One person can just manage for a little while with the moderate light behind the large chair. And if you’re cooking after dark and want to tell if something is done, it can be hard to see.
Speaking of the kitchen, it is pretty well equipped for a rental, but lacked a few things that I could have used. If you’re planning to cook, check that you have what you need up front. Plenty of dishes and stuff. Do be careful if you use the oven not to take anything out of the drawer below it when the oven is hot without using the mitts. You can get warm (not hot) water at the kitchen sink only if you are running the dishwasher at the same time. A dish drain would be nice.
These were relatively minor inconveniences compared to our general overall satisfaction, but most would be easy to remedy and just make it that much better.

Spanish style upstairs unit
Really enjoyed our stay at this 1 bedroom Spanish style apartment. There are 2 flights of stores to be mindful of getting up there. Kitchen had a coffee maker and sufficient utensils and pots/pans for cooking. Street parking was easy too!

We enjoyed our stay. It was an interesting property with an interesting history. Very eclectic style. Comfy bed. A couple issues, first if you’re 6’4” or taller you WILL hit your head on any number of low hanging light fixtures. Second, the bedding had some hair (not ours) in it when we stripped the bed to leave. Eww. Shower also not clean. Otherwise great location. Easy 15-20 min walk to restaurants etc.
