About this house rental
Located in Carmel Valley, this lovely house for $372 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. We are following the CDC Covid-19 guidelines for sanitizing between guests, and in addition, are allowing 24 hours between guests. Please help us to reduce the spread into the Carmel Valley and Monterey Peninsula community and to keep its lodging open to visitors by following Monterey County social distancing guidelines (wash hands regularly, stay 6 feet away from anyone not in your household, wear a mask inside public places or whenever you cannot stay 6 feet away from others and please visit another time if you have any symptoms). Thank you! Located just three minutes by car off of Carmel Valley Road, the house is a brisk twenty minute walk into Carmel Valley Village and a leisurely twenty minute drive into Carmel-by-the-Sea! ‘Life is Good’ is located in a very quiet neighborhood and we like it that way:) The house is not suited for parties due to the noise factor. Parking limited to three cars. We are pet friendly. $75.00 fee for dogs/cats. The yard is not fully-fenced. Dogs must stay on lead or respond to voice command. No roaming off-property. The house has no a/c! ‘Master’ bedroom: New firm, queen mattress, foam topper. Preparing for sleep, the sky offers you views of the moon as it glides across the sky. The upstairs bathroom, shower/tub, has a glass-bloc wall allowing the sun to shine in while ensuring complete privacy. The second upstairs bedroom is roomy and bright with tall windows facing west and north. Queen bed w/new firm mattress. Walking downstairs, linger a moment on the landing to enjoy the exquisite tile work while looking out the window on the east for wildlife sightings! You might just see a pair of intelligent animal eyes peeking back at you! The downstairs bedroom with private access to the bathroom, has a queen bed (soft) and french doors leading to the patio. The downstairs bathroom, accessible from the bedroom or the living area, is decorated with tiles hand-crafted by local artisans. The kitchen offers a gas stove/oven, refrigerator w/ice maker, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, blender and has a washer/dryer in the pantry. Plates, bowls, utensils, pots and pans, cutlery ~ everything one might need to make their stay here as comfortable as possible are provided. Sit inside or enjoy dining al fresco on the patio. Fire up the propane BBQ while feasting your senses on the views, the colors, the sounds and the smells of the canyon while enjoying homemade fare. Food take-out suggestions: Trailside Cafe, Kathy's Little Kitchen, Thai Village, Running Iron, Rustica Cafe, Los Laureles Lodge, to name a few! Local art galleries including CVAA and Patricia Qualls are gaining international attention. Carmel Valley Village has a motorcycle museum and the Carmel Valley History Museum; check website(s) for hours. Laguna Seca-Mazda Raceway/Recreational area is 9.8 mi. away (15 minutes). Carmel Beach and River Mouth Beach are approximately 25 minutes by car. Asilomar Beach and Steinbeck's Cannery Row in Pacific Grove are 40 minutes away. Living room has a Smart tv, no local programming & DVD player (video library upstairs). Enjoy your stay!

Kathy had decorated for Christmas and it made our holiday memorable.

The house was perfect and very clean. Location was great and the property is loverly with all the trees. Kathy was very helpful and responded right away to our questions and suggested some great restaurants.

House was as advertised. Had everything we need for our 5 night stay. On a hill, so had a nice sunny patio vs houses near the creek that didn't get much sun. Kathy and Tony were a breeze to work with. Will definitely consider when we head to the Monterey peninsula again.

This property was very nice. Unfortunately, the homeowner lived across the driveway. She could not have been anymore difficult to deal with. I had rented the place but I told my brother he could have some family members over for pizza to catch up. We did have more people than expected but we were very respectful of the property. The homeowner was going to cancel our reservation. When we got home from the wedding, it was like she waiting for us. We were barely out of the car when she was yelling at us to be quiet. I will never rent a property where the homeowner is on site. She was a little too unreasonable.

Our family of 5 from the East Coast stayed 4 nights at Life Is Good. It was a perfect launch pad for our many adventures. We enjoyed the art, flora, and fauna; cooked delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen; and explored the local farmer's market and quirky shops, in addition to touring the blockbuster coastal attractions.

The property was just as pictured, tucked away in Carmel Valley off the beaten path. We had a deer come up to our window one morning, and many birds joined us on the patio. Lots of nice outdoor spaces for sitting with coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. We were a family of four and both of my teens were able to have their own room, which was great. Beautiful tile and eclectic and charming art throughout the house. Kathy was very responsive and eager to accommodate us. Overall it is a nice place to get away from it all. Very clean and everything working as it should be.

Convenient and good restaurants are nearby in Carmel Valley. We loved the creekside outside spaces. Appreciated the cleanliness of the home.

This was a great home to stay in with our preschool age kids and our nanny while attending my brother’s wedding. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. There were toys provided in addition to the outdoor space to keep our kids entertained while we were at the wedding.

This place was perfect for us as a central location. We were in the area for a wedding in Big Sur, but we also spent time up in Monterrey and on the beaches around Carmel. Our hosts were more than gracious and communicated with us regularly to make sure everything was just right for us. Also, the local restaurants are great. We especially liked the Trailside Cafe and Plaza Linda.

Attending a wedding at Bernardus, needed a place for four of us to stay. This pretty and comfortable house was as perfect base, 10 minutes from wedding, five minutes to Carmel Valley village with it's stores and restaurants. Nice hikes available nearby.

The location is gorgeous but further out than I thought, not being familiar with the area, but still only a short drive to shopping and restaurants. It was a wonderful place to explore for our 3 yr old grandson and there are lots of creeks. Tough to get into the one playground we found but we did eventually locate an entrance.

Lovely property and surroundings. Very clean, fun decor and well-equipped kitchen. Host was very welcoming. We walked down the hill to Carmel Valley to enjoy the restaurants and wine-tasting. Great location.
