Nestled in Trinidad, this lovely house for $550 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Osprey House is one of the oldest large-acreage properties in Trinidad Bay. This brings unparalleled seclusion and privacy, while still being less than five minutes from restaurants and the local market. Enjoy being surrounded by nature, sheltered from prying eyes. Osprey House is a lovely, well-appointed three bedroom and three bath home. It is fully stocked with all the amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. When entering the property through a private gate, you will initially be welcomed by a peaceful, zen garden as you make your way to the front door. The large living room is great for family gatherings. This common space is complete with 42' flat screen TV, DVD/CD, Wi-Fi and cable, as well as an ipod docking station. The owner's unique art and furniture adds character throughout the home. The kitchen has granite countertops and stainless appliances throughout. There are two ovens - including one convection oven - as well as all the kitchen gadgets and cooking necessities you may need. If you decide to take the cooking outside, there are both a propane and traditional charcoal grills for your convenience. Each bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and has its own bathroom. The two larger bedrooms each boast exceptional ocean views, and the third bedroom is eclectically decorated for the inner child in us all. The deck and hot tub both make for a wonderful place to relax and take in the serenity of the coast. Appreciate complete privacy while seeming to be perched on the edge of the world. There are two short trails located at the back of the property. One of these leads to Osprey’s private beach where you can look for agates and sunbathe. The other trail takes you to the Trinidad town center and all its unique shops, restaurants, and pier. One aspect that can not be overstated about Osprey House is the complete privacy you will experience during your stay. Unlike most homes in the area, the property is not located on a main street or in a crowded neighborhood. Once you have entered through the private gate, you needn’t worry about the ‘outside world’ - the large property offers plenty of secure parking, as well as shelter from the curious gazes of people passing by.

Holiday vacation to the redwoods during school break. Really enjoyed the views of the ocean and sound of the waves. Enjoyed the local restaurants and drive through the redwoods.

This house is amazing. You can never fully tell from the pictures what the view will entail, the view did NOT disappoint. The house is comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is big and usable. The bedrooms are comfortable, it is nice that each bedroom has its own bathroom. I will be back.

The moment you pull into the driveway you will see the ocean and beautiful landscape of this property. Once inside you will find a nice open floor plan with plenty of windows throughout the living room and kitchen that look out over the ocean. The house has everything you need, they did a great job with furnishing the kitchen and the whole house for that matter! We were lucky we had nice weather and were able to spend a lot of time out on the deck. It was private, quiet, and very relaxing. We would love to stay at the Osprey house again.

We had a very enjoyable 5-night stay at Gabe’s Trinidad Bay home. Loved the hot tub and the well-equipped kitchen, the beds were cozy and the views from the decks and living room were spectacular. The house is comfortable and roomy, but could use a few upgrades. Gabe was a very responsive host and we would easily recommend this home.

I cannot say enough great things about this property and the experience of working with Gabe, from the initial booking and inquiries all the way through checkout. This home is absolutely spectacular and it is impossible to put into words what a peaceful experience it was being on the property. We loved the quiet and the view so much! Additionally, the property is the best outfitted we've ever stayed in. There is a great variety of kitchen equipment and dining supplies, plenty of kitchen prep space (I am so disappointed I don't get to use a kitchen this well designed every day!). Gabe answered our questions patiently and the arrival and checkout processes went very smoothly. We appreciate the book with answers and guides about the property as it really made us feel even more welcome. Everything is so well organized in the home, well labeled and easy to find.
It was a great home base for visiting Prairie Creek Redwoods, Jedediah Smith/DelNorte Redwoods, and the southeastern portion of Redwoods National and State Parks. Patrick's Point is a short drive up the road and also breathtaking! 3 full days of exploring that area gave us time to do many things on our list but I wish we had been able to plan for a 4th so we could just sit and relax more at this beautiful home.

This place is amazing. Secluded and quiet. The views are wonderful. Large 3 bedroom and lots of other rooms to enjoy hot tub was perfect as well. Loved my stay and will definitely book again.

I spent two nights here in August 2023 and loved this beautiful oceanfront estate as soon as I drove through the gate. It’s private, quiet, comfortable, and well-equipped. Soaking in the jacuzzi while listening to the waves was a delight. I highly recommend a stay.

We came to Trinidad to stay and explore the redwoods for our moms 60th birthday! The Osprey house ended up being just as outstanding as the hiking! The views were spectacular! Easy trails to the beach allowed us to enjoy kite flying, running, even a plunge into the water! We cooked together, sang, danced… it was wonderful! Gabriel was so communicative throughout this process, we felt very taken care of! The home was immaculate and such an easy walk through beautiful trails to town! Thank you for such a wonderful stay! We had to pull ourselves away from the peace that the Osprey house exudes!

This spot is lovely. No frills, but well appointed and perfectly designed. Our teenagers thrilled to clamber down to the beach multiple times; I joined them once but enjoyed the hot tub on other occasions while I conserved energy for hikes in nearby Prairie Creek Redwoods. We grilled, collected stones to our hearts content and enjoyed this quiet perch quite a lot. It was the biggest splurge (for us) on a PNW road trip, but worth it.

We used the Osprey house as our home base for our three-generation family vacation. It was ideal for accessing the parks and the small town of Trinidad while offering a good balance of relaxing time at the house (hot tub and views!) with outdoor adventures. The kitchen and grill made cooking for the group convenient. The inspired decor was a nice change.
We recommend the local fish market (Katy’s) and the Trinidad Eatery as well as the Trillium Falls and Lady Bird Johnson trails for all ages. Ferndale and Avenue of the Giants makes a good day trip from the house.
Know before you go the internet is a bit spotty (adequate for some connectivity but don’t rely on it if you need to take an important Zoom call…. Be on vacation).

Well appointed, comfortable house. Kitchen well supplied with most items needed for meal prep for five of us; all updated appliances and grill on porch worked fine. Bathroom fixtures are dated but perfectly functional, though only one bathroom had a hairdryer. The best part is the deck and grounds—breathtaking views, beautiful landscape, very private, just the sounds of waves, birds, seals, and distant buoy bell—a very relaxing place. Trinidad is a lovely little town with a good grocery and fishmonger selling fresh and smoked fish, as well as several eateries. Convenient to beautiful beaches and redwood National and state parks. I can’t wait to return.

Totally amazing view of the bay. Seals (not the noisy kind), pelicans and other birds are there for you to enjoy. Comfy and clean with modest bathroom set up but fancy kitchen setup. And did I say it is an unbelievable view with no neighbors in sight.

Home sits above bay and has a view of ocean that is to die for. Waves crashing and beaches in two directions. Town nearby. Came with family to go to daughters Humboldt University graduation. Had small party with her roommates and close friends. The college kids enjoyed the dragon in the bathroom the most as the fog moved in and obscured the view. Everything was wonderful from the sounds of waves and bouys, to the kitchen with double oven and outdoor bbq areas. Hot tub was a plus.

Have stayed here before, sitting outside is the ultimate in relaxation for me, just listening to the ocean. Unfortunately it was cloudy/overcast so we never got a good sunset but from previous experience here I know how beautiful it can be. So lucky the Osprey house was available for our dates, it is the first place we look for when traveling up here.
