About this house rental
Located in Ocean Isle Beach, this lovely house for $379 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. WISHING WHALE - 197 East First Street - This second row house features five bedrooms and five and a half baths on two levels, and it's conveniently built on a reverse floor plan for maximum ocean views from the main living area upstairs with all NEW LIVING ROOM FURNITURE (April 2023)! On the first floor, one bedroom has a king bed and TV, one has a queen and TV, one has two full size beds, and the fourth has two sets of bunk beds. This level also has a sitting room with a queen sleeper sofa and TV with a DVD player. Upstairs, there's the kitchen, dining room and main living room, along with the master bedroom with a king bed and TV. The dining room table seats ten, and there are six stools at the bar for additional seating. Amenities include an NEW (May 2021), ELEVATOR, a private HEATED pool, gas grill, enclosed hot and cold outside shower, BRAND NEW (Apr 2022) central heat and air, NEW (Oct 2022) washer and dryer and dishwasher! Microwave oven, iron/ironing board, ceiling fans, a new 55" 4K HD TV in living room, Blu-ray player, and the fastest Wi-Fi available. The gourmet kitchen has top of the line stainless steel appliances, convection oven, and granite countertops and a beautiful NEW backsplash (Sep 2022). (Please bear with us while we get new photos...almost every room is much better than our old photos indicate.) All beds are Serta Perfect Sleeper Euro-top mattresses with GoreTex (hypoallergenic) mattress covers. The two covered NEW (May 2021) TREX DECKS on the street side deck invite you to sit and enjoy the ocean views. This house is located almost directly across from the Leland Street beach access. Arrive early and enjoy the beach! There is plenty of public parking at the beach access point or across the street. This house has keyless entry. A three-night minimum stay is required. We do our best to have the house ready earlier than scheduled checkin an be flexible if you need more time checkout day. Just send us a note. This property has pillows and bedspreads. Pool heat is an additional $75/day, possibly less closer to summer. Sheets, bath and kitchen towels, are available for an additional $235 but can be less for a smaller party. Feel free to follow beach house tradition and bring your own sheets from home (or rent on your own). Paper and soap products should be available but are not guaranteed. RENTAL IS NON-SMOKING AND NO PETS ARE ALLOWED.

Very nice property that 11 people can comfortably use. Refrigerator is low capacity for a rental of this size. Fireplace was a big plus in the mornings. Elevator worked flawlessly. This is our second Thanksgiving here.

This is an amazing property, and our family cannot wait to go back. It was spacious, clean, very close to the beach access, and the heated pool was a game changer.
Howard was very attentive to our request when the towels and sheets were not yet delivered- they were there within the hour- we were very impressed. We will definitely be back next year. Thank you, Howard, for providing us such an awesome vacation property.

Our family, comprised of grandparents, parents and children all enjoyed our time at this beautiful home.
We had a couple issues when we first arrived, however the property owner was diligent in getting them solved as soon as possible. He was super responsive and helpful, and thanks to his attentiveness, we were able to thoroughly enjoy our stay.
The house itself is beautifully decorated, with a well stocked kitchen, a terrific pool and great beach access! We definitely intend staying here again next year.

The house was just what we needed for our larger group. It was big enough that we could gather, but still have space for ourselves. The host was fantastic and the views were magnificent. Didn't hurt that we had some outstanding weather for November.

Our stay at the Wishing Whale was a fantastic and memorable experience.
The accommodations allowed us to have members of our extended family stay together and the close proximity and easy access to the beach and elevator was a God send for those in our family that have limited mobility.
Sitting on the 3rd floor deck with a warm cup of coffee and watching the sun rise was so peaceful. Having our entire family under one roof for our sons Wedding and watching the beautiful sun setting was an experience like no other.
Our time at the Wishing Whale was filled with laughter and fun filled memories but much too short and we hated to leave.
Our family had such a wonderful time together that we’ve decided to try and make it a yearly event.
We will definitely be returning!

The house had a good lay out for sleeping and the kitchen had nice appliances. The only think the house was not as clean as we all thought it should be. We contacted the owner and he had the property manager correct the items we had listed.

The house was in a great location, right across the street from the beach access. You have your own pool in the backyard. The house was big enough for 8 adults and 5 kids. The area was perfect for our family with ice cream shops, arcade, restaurants, shopping, supermarkets, a playground and putt putt all within 5 minutes of the house. We did have some problems with the house but Jeff the property manager was very quick to come over fix it. The living room furniture is very worn and should be replaced. One of our favorite things to do was sit on the 3rd floor porch at night listening to the ocean and feel the sea breeze.

Terrific property! We plan to rent it again in the future. It was clean, well appointed, comfortable beds, great layout, could see and hear the ocean from the huge upper deck. Wife and I brought our 2kids (5 and 8). Large home…could easily share with another family of 4. Location was also great as beach access was just a few steps away. Owner was super nice and responsive. Highly recommend this property!

We enjoyed our week in this beautiful home. Our first visit to Ocean Isle and we were pleasantly surprised with restaurants and a grocery store close by. The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular and enjoyed from the spacious deck with great ocean views as well. The house is furnished well with comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. If you like to cook, you will not lack for anything in the cooking department. The house is listed as wheelchair accessible and it is. The elevator is small and would not work for a chair over 24 inches Some of the bathroom doors are very narrow also. Otherwise we challenged the obstacles and it worked for my wife who is in an amputee in a chair by using a walker and hopping into the enclosed toilet room. The host is responsive to any questions and was a pleasure to deal with. We would probably rent this house again

Overall great property. Just a few minor details needing to be fixed. The house needs some TLC. Power wash the outside of the house. Pool needs to be vacuumed out from the pebbles around the pool with a few seashells and sand. The doors need some cleaning. Some of the walls throughout the house had chips in the paint. Not having a stair access from the pool side. (Might be a safety thing) which is fine. Pool chairs needed to be cleaned. There was mention of the bunk beds being sticky(could be from not using the right cleaning product) The mattresses were amazing. The location right across from the beach access was a definite plus.

We loved our stay at this beautiful home. The inverted floor plan was perfect for our family. My aging parents were able to stay in the king suite on the top floor and be in the midst of all of the family time together. We enjoyed games in the comfortable living room and dinners around the large table. There was adequate storage space for our food, a large refrigerator and the kitchen was well stocked. Our favorite part, however, was the new deck that allowed for ocean views and ocean breezes. There were multiple rocking chairs that accommodated our family while we talked and played games on the deck. The location of this home is perfect--it is right across from a beach access with a quick walk to the beach. We had great communication with the host and he ensured that we were well taken care of during our stay. We only wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to our next stay here!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Wishing Whale. This was our third stay at this property. Easy access to the beach, great pool, and very nice accommodations. The only down side was some construction materials and debris leftover from the day we arrived, Not a significant problem.

Our family loves Ocean Isles. Property owner was very easy to reach and would respond quickly. Very caring on matters that were not planned during trip. The house is very open and we loved the views from decks. New decks just put in are very nice. Access to beach was perfect.

This house is just like it's pictured! It's beautiful and taken care of! All you have to do is walk right across the road to the beach (which is fantastic, especially for the little ones and beach supplies). You can sit on the front porch and have an amazing view as well! The house is perfect for several families ~ the kitchen is up to date with nice appliances and so much stuff to use! The master bathroom shower is AMAZING (probably one of my favorite things)! This was our first time at Ocean Isle Beach (lovely place; we could have walked to plenty of stores and restaurants, if we wanted too. Though all we did was stay on the beach, or the kids enjoyed some time in the pool @ the house.) We bought our groceries at the Lowes and Publix (great places). The owners are awesome as well, very good with answering any questions and/or concerns! Overall we fell in love with this house, the location and the beach! We look forward to next time :)!

The pictures don't do the property justice, you just have to rent it to believe it. It's the perfect family friendly location. The owners are super friendly and their communication skills are supurb. We will definitely be coming back!

A group of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids) stayed for Labor Day weekend and had a great visit. The property owner was very responsive and helped resolve any issues quickly (one lock was stuck). The location was perfect as well!
