Extremely disappointing. We cut short our stay.

A lovely property in a lovely location with spacious and well laid out accommodation.

The property had clearly not been cleaned properly for a LONG time as there were huge cobwebs throughout the property and thick dust on light shades and curtain rails. We arrived late after very long delays in our journey and had to clean old food from the microwave before we could use it to sterilise baby bottles. We had to clean the bath before we could use it. We found one of the beds had hairs and gritty dust on the sheet when the duvet was folded back and this had to be rectified by us before we could use the bed. The smoke alarm on the landing is missing. The blind in one of the bedrooms has spots of black mould on it. Pans in the kitchen were filthy, the smell from one in particular which had a lid actually made my partner heave when the smell escaped and one frying pan had a very loose handle, clearly a safety concern. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen cupboards and mice could be heard scurrying around all night in the attic above the bedrooms. The overall state of the kitchen and utensils made us feel uncomfortable about using them to prepare our own meals. We were aware when we booked that the property is pet friendly, but we really didn’t expect to see previous guests pet hairs all over the soft furnishings or in the beds when we arrived.

Location is isolated with just the farmhouse next door which is very quiet. OK if you like isolation.

Potholes in the Very Long driveway to the property across a farm. Lack of hanging space for clothes.
