It was an oasis of calm and comfort in Merida. The city is lively, but a little untidy, unkept (you need to be alert when walking on the pavement- as there are lots of uneven surfaces), so it was nice to return to place where everything worked (though the water could have been hotter), and everything was clean.
Unfortunately one room had an ant issue, but that was dealt with by the time we returned from our day out.
The staff were lovely, and helpful.
Water could have been hotter.

Wow this place and other hotels they own are amazing . The atmosphere is artistic and has a very nice hippie boho vibe.
Im very impressed with the food,friendly staff and art collection. They went above and beyond what i expected..

1. Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated space
2. The front desk staff (owners?) are eager to please
3. The location is just outside of the tourist area so you can get there on foot
1. The front desk is unoccupied in the morning or late evening.
2. Their restaurants (there are two!) are often missing menu items. As a vegan I found their menus hard to navigate. Their vegan dishes are mostly vegetarian dishes with the cheese/eggs removed rather than diesh that really feel complete.
3. The breakfast waitress was less than patient with my limited Spanish skills
4. There's no soap in shower. You have to detach the hand soap from the sink and bring it with you.
5. The building maintenance is lacking in some areas. There are stains on the walls, the patio floods when it rains.
6. The water temperature in shower fluctuates a lot: sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold. I think this is because they have a solar heater on the roof.
