Located in Forestville, this charming condo for $202 per night is a great option for your next vacation. In the heart of the Russian River Wine Valley -The Attic at the Red Chateau is located on the top floor of an old river cottage with a private entrance. Upon entry, you feel as if you have stepped into a charming tree-house in the woods. With over 600 square feet (plus a generous sized sun deck) ) , and modern amenities, the space boasts unique angles, interesting design, many windows with views of the forest and waterfall including beautiful old “running glass” rounded windows. Highest speed internet. Although not a chateau and no longer red, the name has remained since 1929. The space invites you to curl up in the corner window seat with a book or sip wine in the sitting area in front of the stove for cozy winter relaxation. For those warmer months there is a private deck and a trail close by that leads you to a sandy beach on the Russian River where swimming, kayaking and sunbathing are popular– about a 7 minute walk through Steelhead Beach State Park and lazy river raft - inflate your raft at the park. The ideal location allows you to venture any direction for an abundance of wineries, great restaurants and lots of summer fun and activities. Electric car charging station at parking area. Coastal Redwood hikes, wine and beer tasting, gourmet cuisine or spa...its all here. Look in any direction and you’re looking at the upper branches of trees. In addition, the patio areas around the house are full of beautiful and well-maintained potted plants and flowers. Great location for access to wine country or the sea coast. Russ is a friendly and helpful host.

The attIc was a small but quaint and cozy spot perfect for privacy and waking up to nature; birds singing and water brook flowing. The owner Russ was pleasant and welcoming and made himself available. Overall very pleasant stay.

Perfect place for a jump off point for the Russian River Valley. The Attic is nicely put together, cozy, and off the beaten path. Loved playing cards on the secluded deck. Russ was quick to respond when we couldn't figure out how to access Netflix:) Hope to maybe someday make it to Russ's rental in Mexico. Highly recommend the Attic in the Red Chateau!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Red Attic nestled in the beautiful trees. Charming and eclectic. The views out every window we’re amazing! Location close to all the wineries. The one way street is a little crazy to get to the house so recommend checking in before dark. The recommendation for dinner at the Russian River Pub by the owner was greatly appreciated! The food was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our stay at the Red Chateau was absolutely magical. The spot is a perfect getaway for two. We went wine tasting, fine dining and cooked a few meals too. Sitting under the stars on the incredible patio was a highlight. We’ll be back in a few months and I know where we’ll be staying!

We had a lovely time at The Attic. It’s close to wineries, great restaurants, and the Redwoods. It’s an adorable place for two. We loved watching the trees sway outside the antique windows as we enjoyed our morning coffee. We will definitely be back!

Charming-Magical-Adorable Nice setting in the trees with views and beautiful old windows. Nice job was done with the décor with special touches throughout – So cozy and comfortable. We loved the location close to wineries, river, and little towns to explore. Our host Russ was so helpful providing us with recommendations for wineries and restaurant. This is a good one! The worst part of our stay was having to leave, but hope to return soon.

The attic is the perfect size for 2 people, with a very small but functional kitchen. We were disappointed that basic amenities such as toilet paper and paper towels were not provided. I’m sure Russ would have responded quickly but we bought some at the store instead.

We knew very little about Sonoma County, so we had no idea how perfect this location is... easy access and so close to the well-known and lesser known super-cute towns, and only about 25 minutes from the ocean. Great restaurants everywhere, of course. And you can walk to a great little beach on Russian River from the house. Russ, the host, is great guy and a good communicator, so everything was easy. And the place itself is SO sweet. Beautifully and tastefully decorated, but practical, too. Bedroom has beautiful huge window looking out on trees and skyline. Bathroom is luxurious. We picked this place largely for the price and the "idea" of "the attic," but we got so much more. You will love it.

Just as described, this attic property is comfy and cozy. Bed is good, and roomy bathroom. It has lots of windows for light and views of forest trees. It is sized just right for 2 people. River is a close walk. Lots of wineries to explore nearby.
