We had a wonderful 2-night stay at H-SA Guest House in Matera, and it truly felt like a five-star hotel experience. The accommodation was beautiful, spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged.
The location was excellent—within walking distance of Matera’s stunning old city, yet outside the ZTL zone, which made travelling by car very convenient. Having a car park available was also a big advantage.
What really made our stay special were the hosts. They were incredibly lovely, thoughtful, and accommodating. Every request was handled with ease, and the way they welcomed us and treated our daughters made us feel more like family than guests. They took extra care to make sure the children were happy and even prepared different breakfast options especially for them.
And then there was the breakfast—an absolute delight! Fresh coffee, delicious bruschetta and tomatoes, fresh cheeses including burrata, mozzarella and cream cheese, followed by a wonderful selection of homemade cakes prepared by the hosts. It was so delicious that we would happily return just for their breakfast!
The hosts also gave us plenty of helpful advice and recommendations for exploring Matera, which made discovering this beautiful ancient city even more enjoyable.
We highly recommend H-SA Guest House to anyone visiting Matera. A beautiful place, fantastic location, wonderful hosts, and an unforgettable breakfast—everything you could ask for in a stay. We would love to return!

The owners are very friendly and recommended places to visit. The rooms are modern and very clean. It was always a pleasure to chat with them. The highlight was the breakfast. It was perfect in both quality and quantity. All homemade by Antonella using fresh products. It was truly exceptional.

A calm retreat walking distance to the tourist zone. Easy street parking. A very generous breakfast daily. Antonella and Mario are a lovely professional and discrete couple running a modern but tranquil B&B. I highly recommend a stay here whilst in Matera or using it as a base for the region.
