The location is amazing! Just a short walk to the beach and close to some great restaurants too.
It feels like you are right in the middle of the jungle, tranquil with birds and monkeys all around you. A beautiful pool and breakfast served every morning. Rooms were clean and so comfortable! Wade and Laurie great hosts and very helpful! We’ll be back!

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön mit tollen Pools und absolut fantastischen Frühstück.
Ein “Baumhaus” zum relaxen oder Yoga mit Blick in den Dschungel. Wir hatten sogar das Glück und haben ein Faultier im Garten gesehen.
Die Unterkunft ist genau so schön wie auf den Bildern.
Es war wirklich perfekt.
Wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

Cada detalhe da acomodação foi pensado para nosso conforto. Quando eu falo cada detalhe eu me refiro a cada detalhe mesmo. A cama era extremamente confortável, o chuveiro era excelente, a iluminação do quarto era muito bem feita e o nosso quarto ficava no meio de uma mini reserva ecolĂłgica onde podĂamos ver animais passando quando estávamos deitados na cama.
A nossa recepção foi incrĂvel. Fomos recebidos pelo proprietário que nos deu todas as informações necessárias. Era o dia do meu aniversário e recebemos uma carona do proprietário para irmos no mercado comprar um bolo. NĂŁo sĂł isso, mas como estávamos em lua de mel, recebemos felicitações e uma garrafa de vinho como presente.
O cafĂ© da manhĂŁ era Ăłtimo. O cardápio mudava todos os dias, entĂŁo todos os dias tĂnhamos uma opção deliciosa.
NĂŁo tenho nada do que reclamar.

Beautiful property with lovely garden, including two swimming pools. The property is a bit hidden of a side street - we were a bit surprised by the surroundings since there’s no sign on the street but don’t let that deter you. Breakfast was outstanding - the best we’ve experienced in 4 weeks in Costa Rica. Complimentary drinks (beer included) are provided in the room - just perfect. Hosts were also extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, tours arrangement and tuktuk contact.
WiFi connection is not the best - at least in our villa - but this didn’t have a major impact on us.

This is the place for those who are looking for peace, quiet and nature. Deep in the jungle, beautifully designed, almost luxuries huts; exquisite breakfast; surrounded with the sounds and sight of animal life; with two pools and great, friendly and knowledgeable hosts. We really wish we could have stayed longer!
WI-FI is a little patchy but who needs internet in this wonderful place!

The easiest 10 point rating. We loved our stay here. The rooms are super spacious, have everything you’ll need and we loved being able to hear all the wildlife!
We loved all the animals (wild and pets) on the property and the breakfast is incredible!
We preferred the location over central Puerto Viejo, as it also had a number of great restaurants but felt a lot more relaxed.

Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The jungle setting was fabulous and the pool area and rooms were beautifully maintained. Hosts provided excellent suggestions for days out and places to eat & drink. Beautiful beaches and a couple of fantastic restaurants within close promixity, less than 15 minutes walk.
Provision of beach towels would be a nice added extra, though pool towels were provided.
Would prefer a door to the bathroom for privacy.
Everything else was perfect.

Si lo que buscan es un lugar de descanso total, esta es una excelente opciĂłn. Las habitaciones grandes, limpias, sin bulla alrededor y rodeadas de naturaleza. Tienen una pequeña refrigeradora, no cuenta con TV. Los desayunos son deliciosos. Los anfitriones muy amables y detallistas. VolverĂamos sin pensarlo!

Loved our visit. Wade and Laurie are gracious hosts who truly care about their guests. The property was exceptional and they have thought of every detail to make their guests comfortable. You will not regret staying here as the property is truly magical and unlike anywhere I have ever stayed before. Breakfast was positively delightful. The property was also immaculate and very well maintained. I thought the price of the room was very very reasonable, as the next two nights we stayed elsewhere and it was double the price for the same type of accommodation. Laurie also arranged a tour for us with Joe, and that was fantastic as well. I highly recommend this fantastic property. Thank you Wade and Laurie for a wonderful visit!
I booked the room rather quickly and was a bit surprised when I arrived to find that there was no air conditioning. However, I take full responsibility for not paying closer attention when I booked. It clearly states there is no air conditioning in several places- so this was my error. There is a large ceiling fan as well as a tall tower fan in the room which did help with the air flow.

Echt verreweg het mooiste hotel van onze reis. Wade en Laurie zijn hele lieve mensen, die je graag alles vertellen over de omgeving. De kamers zijn schitterend. We waren bang dat het erg warm zou worden zonder airconditioning, maar dat was zeker niet het geval. s' Nachts was het heerlijk koel door de natuurlijke ventilatie. Het ontbijt was echt uitzonderlijk goed. We keken er iedere ochtend naar uit. Heel gezellig met de Agouties en vogels om je heen.

Simple yet luxurious accommodation. Surrounded by nature. Pools and treetop deck an added bonus. All areas kept spotlessly clean. Hosts and staff were very friendly and helpful. Gourmet full breakfast served. Beautiful beaches nearby.

Simply everything. After having travelled quite a bit (not just in Costa Rica, but overall), this is probably one of the best accomodations we have ever been in. The whole place is beautifully made and very clean. The bungalows are located in a wonderful garden with two pools and a deck, where you can enjoy the view of the surrounding forest. The breakfast was simply amazing (everyday you get a different breakfast, all of them very delicious) and Laurie and Wade are really the perfect hosts. Thanks again for all the tips for our activities and the nice conversations we had!

it’s amazing, the design is well thought out and the jungle experience is like no other. Breakfast was delicious and light on the stomach, the mini bar was replenished every time we left the hotel to go to the beach free of charge 🥹
hard to find anything I didn’t like, but if I would have to say something would probably be the lack of an AC… at the same time I’m all for sustainable living so I get it… I’m just what they call a “hot sleeper” so an AC would have been great

The breakfast was below average as there no options or choice about what to have nor were we asked. The service at breakfast was poor, Laurie was unfriendly during the breakfast service and didn’t barely spoke to us. Also breakfast ended at 8.30am which was too early. She made us feel uncomfortable when we said our cup was dirty at breakfast and checked it with disbelief and a scowl.
We did not like the attitude of the host Laurie. She was cold upon our arrival, uninviting and unfriendly.
We had a query regarding how to dispose of feminine hygiene products which was met with disdain and scoffing by Laurie. As a woman her response lacked compassion and we felt uncomfortable.
When we felt Lauries attitude could not get any worse, when we were leaving she was dismissive, rude and obnoxious as if because we were no longer guests at the hotel, her minimal effort of customer service abruptly ended. Because of this, it ruined our last day in Peurto Veijo and we were left hurt and upset by the way we were treatment. We would never recommend anyone to stay here.
The other host Wade was wonderful unfortunately he was overshadowed by Laurie who was insufferable.

The breakfast was over the top amazing. It was gourmet. The property is BEAUTIFUL. Our room had both its own indoor shower as well as its own private outdoor shower. Its pretty special to be able to shower and enjoy the foliage and hear howler monkies. We stayed at 15 different properties during our 6 week vacation and this one was by far the nicest. The hosts were amazing. We highly recommend this place.

Laurie and Wade were so welcoming! We really felt like coming home to a tropical hideaway. The bungalows are very comfortable, the bed is very large with a very good and comfortable matress. You have an outdoor shower, which is amazing, and an indoor shower. The bathroom is really big and everything is absolutely clean and well equipped. What makes everything even more exceptional are the little things: Everyday you get a fresh towel for cleaning your face from makeup, as if by magic your fridge is filled with 2 fresh, cold beer everyday, you have a space to make some yoga/bodyweight sessions and the breakfast is just extraordinary good!
We enjoyed our stay and could've even spend more time in this little paradise!

Our stay at La Paz del Caribe was amazing. Everyone tried to make our stay unforgettable. We could borrow beach towels, when our car had a flat tire the host even came to the mechanic he recommend to look if everything worked out, the breakfast was amazing and we got great recommendations for activities. Also the housekeeping was great and very friendly.
The mattress could be a bit softer but we still slept very good.

A luxurious stay surrounded by nature and wildlife, close to a beautiful black sand beach and good restaurants. Wade and Laurie are the sweetest hosts that are willing to help at any time. Best stay and definitely the best breakfasts we had in Costa Rica!

Everything. You can really feel the love that is given to La Paz del Caribe. We liked everything about this lovely place. The owners are very nice, friendly people who are giving 100% to the guests to enjoy their stay. Also the breakfast was the best one we had during our vacation, each day absolutely delicious.

The bungalows are very nicely decorated and private and have enough space. Love the outside shower which we used a lot. The breakfast is always different and it was one of the best we had in our whole 3 weeks in Costa Rica. The open air concept works perfectly to get enough air flow.
The bed has an extremely hard mattress, which meant we didn't sleep as well as we could.

Amazing, lovely maintained property. Lush forest surrounds private, architectural cabins. Meticulously clean and appointed with high end bedding, towels, and even robes. The hosts, Wade and Laurie are fantastic, providing a hearty delicious, gourmet breakfast every morning. One of the best I’ve had in Costa Rica. They are very friendly and helpful, offering tips for excursions and dining. I loved drinking my morning coffee listening to the sounds of the jungle on my patio. Very romantic with lovely indoor outdoor showers. Amazing experience in every way. I highly recommend! Pura Vida!

Beautiful setting feels like its in the middle of the jungle. Loved spending time watching the Howler monkeys from the yoga deck. We really hope this area of forest can be protected for them long term. Wade and Lori are wonderful hosts. Delicious breakfasts! Great trips on offer from local guide, unfortunately we didn't get chance to experience them. We visited the Jaguar Centre and Ara project. Sad that animals are needing rescue but good to know there are committed people to ensure they are cared for and released back to the wild where possible. Ara project very inspiring, reintroducing the Great Green Macaws to their former range and educating communities to help protect them.

We have put a lot of time into the research for accommodations and we know it’s super difficult. But you can stop searching now and book your stay at La Paz del Caribe. The bungalows are new, spacious and offer a lot of comfort: huge bed, fridge, jungle shower and a private terrace. Plus, you have two pools to choose from. It is cleaned daily and and the service shows love to detail (fresh flowers each day). The breakfast is super delicious. The premise is very nice, green and spacious but offers privacy to each guest. The owners Laurie and Wade take great care of their guests and are exceptional hosts. We loved it so much so that we added another night. Plus, we got a lot options to choose for tours and can highly recommend to book the Cahuita Tour with Joel. As it is a bit outside of Puerto Vjejo it is good to have a car but you can also get around by foot (bring flashlight), TukTuk or rent scooters or bicycles. loved it there <3
