About this villa rental
Located in Almyrida, this attractive villa for $230 per night is a great option for your next break. Villa Kostas, 300 mts. easy walk to the beach and to the center of Almyrida. Attractive, well furnished, full sized kitchens. The swimming pool, balconies and exterior steps and stairs are fitted with fences and gates. This together with a single interior floor level makes it suitable for many sorts of group, including families with young children. Regrettably, people with severe mobility problems would not be comfortable here. Almyrida is a small, pretty resort but has everything you will need; a good range of tavernas, cafes and bars; well stocked food shops; a clean Blue Flag beach and safe swimming or paddling in the sea (very gently sloping sandy bottom). If you prefer not to hire a car, the resort has a taxi rank and reliable bus service. You can also book excursions to any of the many places of interest or activity Crete affords. Villa Kostas is in town and by the seaside but surrounded by olive gardens: a short and nice stroll leads directly to the sea; you have plenty of room around the house to make the best of sunny days! It is placed in a central but green and quiet area of a land of beauty, an ancient Mediterranean paradise! Villa KOSTAS (2 bedrooms, sleeps 4/6) has a large living room attractively furnished with much scrubbed pine and radio, TV and DVD player; 1 double bedroom and 1 twin plus double bed settee in the living room; a bathroom with shower, basin and WC. The open-plan kitchen has full sized gas and microwave oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine - plus plenty of cupboards and worktop. Villa Kostas has full air-conditioning and also suitable heating. There is no charge for babies using a cot and we supply the cot free. For toddlers we will supply a high chair at no charge. Young children are able to go freely within the house and onto all the balconies and the area outside the main door and are protected from falling or going onto the poolside or onto any stairs by suitable fencing and gates. A free wireless connection is available and included. Outside There are mature flower beds around the villa and potted flowers and plants on terraces and balconies. Villa Kostas has a large private roof terrace furnished with tables, easy chairs, sun beds, umbrellas and BBQ. Also balconies to the front and sides are well furnished with easy chairs and tables. The pool is private and the poolside has sun beds and umbrellas. Coast and beach The beach, town and resort facilities are a 5 minute easy stroll. Further good beaches can be visited at Kalyves (4 km), Georgioupoli (25 minutes drive) and in and beyond Chania. There are numerous rocky coves or bays where you will be enchanted to swim or snorkel. A great favorite is Octopus bay where there is plenty of space for sunbathing and thanks to a rather good single taverna, somewhere you can enjoy a whole day visit (25 minutes drive). Travel Chania Airport is about 35 minutes drive to/from your villa; Souda port about 20 minutes drive; Heraklion is about 2 hours drive. A hire car is not essential in this location. There are plenty of taxis at both airports and bus services going to/from Almyrida and both airports, ports and all the major cities of Crete. Distances In town you will find all you need for your stay. The nearest town, Kalyves (full range of shops, banks, ATMs, etc.) is 10 minutes drive or 1/2 an hour beautiful walk. The main town of the area, Vamos, is 15 minutes drive. Chania, one of the loveliest cities of Greece (old town, Venetian port, night life) is 35 minutes drive. Archaeological sites are many and long sand beaches with waterparks in both directions along the coast. Further details Chania, the regional capital, is worth spending a day or two visiting. There are shops galore, a permanent indoor market and two highly colourful street markets. It has a characterful old town and a lovely Venetian harbour area. Walkers will want to test themselves in the spectacular Samaria Gorge. The easier but no less spectacular Imbros Gorge may be a more sensible choice. Both require a 2 to 3 hour trip up into the White Mountains and your exit from both brings you out on the arid but dramatic south coast. There are many more activities to be found on Crete. Whatever your holiday fancies may be, you can probably indulge them somewhere on this very large island. Booking notes Email or fax or phone us to discuss your requirements. We had a very relaxing two weeks in Villa Kostas. Cristina was there to greet us and kept in touch during our stay to make sure everything was OK. The villa had everything we needed and is perfectly located just a few minutes walk into Almyrida and to the beach.

We had a lovely week in the villa, it was clean and the hosts were very welcoming and attentive. The location is quiet and peaceful but only a 5 minute stroll to the beach, shops and various restaurants. The air conditioning in the two bedrooms works very well and the swimming pool is a good size for a family. The terrace is an added bonus for using in the evenings.

Had a great holiday here - great communication with owner and all as described. Great location 5 minuite walk to supermarket tavernas and 5 mins more to beach - you dont really need a car but plenty to hire and taxi very locally. Got taxi straight from airport and started our holiday!

Truly a wonderful experience both villa and location. Very pleasurable comfortable villa with a pool and great views from balcony and terrace of Almyrida and scenic mountain back drop.
Close to amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants, bars and beaches.
Regular buses to Chania, a must see City of a wonderful Venetian port, buildings and many more restaurants.

Outside the pool is perfect with sun loungers and the roof terrace is beautiful with gorgeous views over the bay.
The owners are a delight to deal with. We never had any problems the 2 weeks we stayed. Excellent holiday.

Das Haus bietet einen traumhaften Blick auf den Ort und das Meer. Der Schwimmingpool ist sauber und gepflegt. Cristina ist eine perfekte Gastgeberin.Sie hatte immer ein offenes Ohr für unsere Wünsche. Wir werden sicher eines Tages wiederkommen.

Nette, schöne Villa in Almyrida
Eine sehr schöne und gut gelegene Villa. Zum nächsten Supermarkt benötigt man 5-10 Minuten zu Fuss. Weitere 5-10 Minuten sind es bis zum nächstgelegenen Strand. In der Villa gibt es eine Waschmaschine, die wir gerne für unsere Badehandtücher genutzt haben. Das Bad mit WC ist recht klein. Für uns mit 4 Personen war das aber kein Problem. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. So hatten wir keine Mühe, einen Arzt für den Corona Test zu finden.

Een heerlijk relaxed huis met zwembad van alle gemakken voorzien
Wij hadden met 5 volwassenen Villa Vana gehuurd. Bij aankomst bleek dat de andere villa (villa Kostas) niet was verhuurd gedurende ons verblijf. Wij hadden het zwembad dus helemaal voor ons zelf. Een week lang hebben wij genoten van een heerlijk huis met privé zwembad en meer dan voldoende ruimte in en om het huis. In elke slaapkamer was airco aanwezig en die werkte prima. Op het dakterras genoten we van een geweldig mooi uitzicht op de baai van Almyrida. De locatie van het huis is perfect, op korte loopafstand van de bakker, diverse kleine supermarkten, het strand en restaurants in het centrum van het dorpje. De Italiaanse eigenaars van de locatie, Cristina en Enzo, stonden ons bij aankomst op te wachten en waren heel vriendelijk en gastvrij. Zelfs handdoeken voor gebruik in huis waren beschikbaar.
Het enige waar we gedurende ons verblijf 2 keer een paar uur last van hebben gehad was een stroomstoring in de regio maar daar konden zij niets aan doen.
Almyrida is verder een prima uitvalsbasis voor bezoek aan Chania (ca. 1/2 uur met de auto), de Samaria-kloof (dagtour met de bus vanuit het centrum van het dorp) en Rethymnon (ca 50 minuten met de auto).
Kortom villa Vana is een absolute aanrader voor families of andere groepen tot 6 personen (3 tweepersoons slaapkamers).

Casa bella, spaziosa e vicinissima al mare, facilmente raggiungibile a piedi anche con i bambini.
Bellissima terrazza con barbecue per mangiare la sera con vista mare.
Incantevole e comoda la piscina privata accanto a casa.
Ottimo punto di forza per noi sono stati i proprietari e gestori diretti dell'appartamento Cristina ed Enzo, mai invadenti ci hanno accolto con una ospitalità ed amicizia uniche ed impareggiabili.
Abbiamo trascorso insieme piacevoli momenti per noi indimenticabili, inoltre si sono resi disponibili per qualsiasi informazione e consiglio utile per visitare l'isola.
Il loro modo di gestire la struttura con passione e professionalità fa la vera differenza.
Abbiamo soggiornato qui con i nostri figli ,ma è una sistemazione che consiglio a tutti con o senza bambini, torneremo sicuramente.

As we were 10 persons,we rented both villa Kostas and villa Vana. The both villas were very well equipped with everything you could possibly need both inside the nice villas and outside by the lovely and clean pool,and from the roofterraces (from were you had a beautiful wiew of the see,the mountains and the village.) ,and on the nice balconies that surround the both houses. Lots of places and space to sit,eat,talk both together and in privacy. We had also very nice help from the househosts Joanne and Derek, who waited for us when we arrived and offered their help anytime!
The villas were very nice and calm situated, yet only a few minutes walk to bakery and a very nice beech. We already dream of coming back next summer! Ulla and Ulf Valsinger, Sweden

I will go back someday
My vacation at villa Vana on Crete, in November 2013, was a delightful experience. But Homelidays wants facts, not impressions or feelings, so here are the facts. During the booking process, the owner, Cristina, answered promptly to my emails, was available for telephone contact, provided correct and relevant information (such as directions on how to drive from the airport aso). The property is just as described in the advert. The villa is ideal to accommodate 6 people, as it has 3 bedrooms, each with either 2 single beds or one twin bed. We were 7 guests, the seventh slept on the sofa, which actually proved to be very comfortable. The house was clean and welcoming, and the appliances functioned as expected. We were greeted at our arrival by an extremely nice and service-minded English couple, Joanne and Derek, which were later on available on phone for any problem or question we had, and helped solve it promptly. For example, the first night was a bit cold. We called them and before evening came again, they brought us blankets. This was pretty much the only problem we had during our stay, but simply knowing that Joanne and Derek were there, ready to help if needed, gave me a much appreciated peace of mind. They also gave us useful tips on the lovely small food shops in the neighborhood. Almyrida is a small village and it proved to be the perfect destination for us, who want to avoid the big tourist crowd. I would love to go back and spend another vacation in the same village and the same villa!
