A Quiet Getaway Near Natural Bridge SP, The Red River Gorge, And Muir Valley
About this cabin rental
Rock Haven is a beautiful and modern multilevel cabin built in front of a limestone cliff that towers above it, located in a secluded forest valley adjacent to Natural Bridge State Park and near the Red River Gorge. It easily accommodates 10 persons. Come and feel the excitement of being in the middle of the forest, enjoy the beautifully designed wood interior, and relax in this comfortable vacation home, that is supplied with Wifi and a landline phone. If you are interested in staying at Rock Haven, click on "Send a message" or click on "Request to Book." The lovely spaces in Rock Haven include four bedrooms including one on the middle level, one on the lower level with two beds, and the two loft bedrooms (both without doors) , 2 ½ baths, a whirlpool room with a view of the rocky cliff, a fully equipped and roomy kitchen, an inviting spacious living room, a fantastic sun-room to relax in, a front deck surrounded by the tall trees, and a back deck almost within arm’s reach of the cliff. All linens, blankets, and towels, and some basic kitchen items such as spices and napkins are provided so all you need to bring is food, drink and personal items to have the perfect stay. The deep woods and the cliff-side location moderate the summer heat and winter cold and ensure that only the sounds of nature are heard. In addition, the location is close to the area's attractions--the many arches, hiking trails, scenic drives, and a surprising variety of restaurants. Cell phone service is available--best via Verizon, spotty for other providers unless one goes to the top of the hill. There is Wifi, a TV and a DVD player, but no cable service. Feel free to stream or bring your own movies for family entertainment. You can choose not to use the Wifi, and maybe discover, or experience again, how rewarding it is to quietly sit on the deck and to enjoy the sounds of the forest both in early morning and in the evenings. This is a wonderful way to experience nature.

Overall we did love this beautiful cabin and highly enjoyed our stay. We would probably stay there again considering it was so big and cozy. There were a few issues though, the back door was open when we arrived and considering we arrived after dark it was a little of an uneasy feeling being in the woods and a place that we’ve never been before. Not only this but the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, the stove had food on it, and we were only left with one trash bag for a four night stay with 4 kids. We did enjoy the cabin and all of the beautiful places near it that were able to explore.

The Cabin was perfect and in a great location close to everything. Good amount of beds and great for dogs. Would definitely stay again.

We spent three terrific days in this lovely cabin, and we already hope to stay there again. The cabin was extremely comfortable and very well appointed. I can’t recommend this property highly enough. It exceeded my expectations.

This is a beautiful cabin right up against a beautiful rock wall in a beautiful location. The cabin was clean, well furnished, and everything functioned perfectly. It has a great fire pit by the driveway and a gas grill. Pretty much a perfect weekend getaway.
One note: the driveway down to it is VERY steep, not wide, and a little sketchy. We still did fine in a couple small sedans, but just writing this so no one is surprised or freaked out.

Nice property, things were in working order. Would stay there again.

I rented this house for a girls trip for my daughters 16th birthday. My friend and I, and (3) 16 year old girls stayed here.
The house is in a beautiful location and there is so much to do in the area. There is plenty of room in the house for sleeping. The girls definitely loved having the loft to sleep in.
It is in the mountains so it is a very vertical area. Be prepared for a lot of stairs. There are 5 levels to the house, plus going from parking area up to the house.
We had a phone signal with no issues, but don’t count on using the wi-if to watch a movie. If you think you will want to watch something (if the weather doesn’t cooperate) plan on bringing some DVDs with you.
I definitely recommend staying here (as long as you don’t have small children because of all the stairs). You will not be disappointed. I plan to be back with my family, as I know my husband and son will love to explore the are also.

We enjoyed our stay. We reached out about an issue when we arrived and it we were contacted back about it. Are there bugs?, yes but it’s what you expect at this time of year. They are all trying to find somewhere to be. I would recommend this property to anyone as it was so quiet and private which is what we wanted. We didn’t want to have neighbors. There are neighbors but none close enough to bother you. It’s spacious with lots of room. Would stay here again for sure.

The cabin itself is cute and the location is great if you want to be secluded. We did take note of some previous reviews and brought extra towels. We did have some issues with some bees/wasps in the upstairs bathroom that stung our child. But Corrie was quick to respond to try and remedy the 70+ bees that sought out warmer air.

We had a wonderful time. Cozy place. Secluded and a great retreat! Huge rock on back of house is awesome!

The cabin was a perfect getaway for our group of 10. It was well stocked with essentials and had enough beds for everyone. Corrie responded quickly to our messages. The whole check-in and check-out process went smoothly.

The house is a beautiful house built up against a stone cliff that represents the area. The grounds are wooded with nature coming right up to the house. The two nearest houses are out of view. The location is such that you're close to Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. Just a great get-away! If you're in to hiking, kayaking, or rock climbing in the eastern KY wilderness, this is a great place to base out of.

Location is amazing on this property! Close to everything we came for with beautiful surroundings! Easy check in and out. A little musty on the top floor but nothing too bad. It is in the woods after all! I would stay in Rock Haven again for sure!

This was by far one of the best VRBO places that we've stayed at. Bring your suitcase and food and you are all set. Super clean and well stocked kitchen was perfect for family meals after our long days of hiking. Bring your hikers and hit the trails! Thank you for the hospitality.

The cabin was very peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed the rock behind the cabin and we did a little exploring while we were there. It was very close to all the local parks and attractions.

Our friends and our family stayed over the weekend at this cabin. The property itself could not have been more awesome!! The cabin has a really neat loft area with a bathroom where we let the kids all sleep, and two very nice bedrooms. It was clean, but there was a slight odor to one bedroom where I assume someone had smoked in it, unfortunately- lighting a candle helped.
There weren’t quite enough linens (towels and wash rags) for the number of guests that the cabin boasted being able to accommodate, but other than that, it was perfect. We loved sitting at the large kitchen table all together for our meals and hiking around the property. It was so peaceful and beautiful! There are a LOT of things to do in the area- hiking, kayaking, etc at the state park and national forest. Overall, would definitely recommend!

The property really needs some inspection as the humidity was unbearably high. All the beddings and towels smell moldy due to the high humidity in the house.

The cabin is in an in excellent location. The driveway to get in and out is a bit steep but was easily managed with our truck and also for people in a neighboring cabin that had a low riding corvette. The cabin was 98% clean but there was some webs on a few walls and when my toddlers toy rolled Uber a couch there was quite a bit of dust that came out. The cabin also was said to be stocked with spices so we brought none, but we had a very hard time finding salt and the garlicky powder was hard and unusable. The only other thing was that the loft area is not air conditioned so it was hot up there for children, but they still managed to sleep comfortably and have a good time. The cabin area was quite and serene. The sandstone behind was beautiful. Sitting on the deck for morning coffee was pleasant. We enjoyed ourselves and our children enjoyed themselves as well. We also liked how split up the sleeping areas are. You’re not sleeping right on top of each other. And 3 toilets was definitely a super plus.

Clean and Close to Red River Gorge

We stayed during the week and felt entirely alone in our corner of the woods- the location is so beautiful and peaceful.
The set up worked for our group of 9 and gave everyone their own space when needed. The stairs were a little scary for the little ones and there were some bruises but they loved them!
Only con was the cooking/food prep equipment. While everything was there, for a listing for up to 10 people, it was tricky to prepare food with only one frying pan, no baking sheets and very few knives (and none very sharp). Don't plan on a big steak dinner! Otherwise, great memories were made. Thanks!

This property was a nice blend of rustic and modern and was a great launch to see the attractions in and near Red River Gorge.

This property was perfect for us. We could all be together and we could also have privacy.

Perfect location for Red River Gorge Hiking activities! We had a great time. There were 6 of us, and although the house sleeps 8, there wouldn’t be room for 8 in either of the family room type areas with sofas/tv, just FYI.

Place was nice and big enough for us all. Only thing was a problem was there was only one frying pan in the whole place.

Love love love the rock that backs up to house. Rustic cabin that allows dogs was all we needed and this fit the bill. Gas grill and small fire pit were used and appreciated.

Our stay was wonderful- spacious cabin nestled in the woods and close to some of our favorite gorge hikes. Host was communicative, property was clean and all we could have hoped for. Thank you!

Let's get the good stuff up-front - If you have a big group, this place will do the job. The location was great, very close to the state park and several good restaurants. It's nice and secluded, and right up against the rock wall of a mountain.
It wasn't very clean, we started sweeping as soon as we got there. The stove was dirty, the grill tongs were filthy, the tablecloth was dirty, and on the first warm day (we were there in March) we started finding wasps in the house. I killed 7. There isn't really what you'd call a "master" bedroom. The upstairs loft is mostly open space with two beds and right above the kitchen. The beds are ok - not great, not terrible. Finally, the blueray disc player that doubles as a wanabe roku was awful to use. When we wanted TV on in the evenings, I plugged my laptop into the tv. Once the weather turned bad, we left early.

This was such an amazing place to stay for a quick trip away. The house was beautiful and clean and honestly beyond what I hoped for! Close enough to things that it wasn't out of the way, but secluded enough that it felt like we were in a world of our own!

Though we did not get to stay because of weather conditions, Corrie was great to communicate with and so gracious about refunding our stay.

The house had a wonderful layout for our group, with great spaces and furniture for puzzling, watching movies, playing games, eating. The host was responsive and very helpful when we needed to troubleshoot the dishwasher. It would be nice to have a few coffee filters available (we ended up using paper towels) and although there were about 5 salt shakers, there wasn’t a single grain of salt anywhere. Also, there were flying squirrels in the attic/walls, which didn’t cause any problems except noise, but it would be better without them.
All in all, I would definitely rent this house again.
