Such a cute, quaint little town! The surrounding neighbors were extremely friendly as we went on walks. I felt like we had gone back in time to a simpler, safe atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
It was clean, but it was just a basic motel room. Take your own pillows. The bed was comfortable but the pillows weren’t.

The owner and staff are very nice and it is clean. If you do want quiet and remote to read and find solitude this may be a good stop as this little town is quiet.
We got to the location and it was clean but to basic for our needs, as nothing is walkable and the restaurant and bar we wanted next to the hotel was closed in December 2025. The closest stores, bars, or restaurants are 15-20 minutes away by car. They have some drinks and a few items in the office during daytime hours, and a nearby small general store not open. The closest beaches are 30 miles away, unless you can take a boat to a barrier island when it runs. Just too slow and basic for a romantic getaway, and not close to any conveniences other than quiet. The room was basic, but clean with a window AC and more like sleep cabins for guys with a fishing trip to go on in the am. We left after checking in as it did not meet our expectations, although the owner reached out and is super nice and we wish them well. It was Sunday so slow, but town looks like its becoming empty and nothing to see or do there for us at least. We live close in Va. Beach so just drove home.
