South Haven Peach Mansion
About this house rental
Nestled in South Haven, this attractive house for $571 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. This home is part of the history of South Haven. The original owner has a street, bridge, beach and park named after him in the town, and his son was the mayor of the town for awhile as well. It was built on the largest peach farm in Michigan in 1860. Many locals refer to the home as the "Home of 11 Gables". This truly unique architecture has withstood the test of time and has been updated with today's conveniences coupled with the charm of over 150 years ago. The home boasts 2 living areas (2 living rooms, 2 kitchens) - perfect for those large families. There are 5 bedrooms and 3 full, and updated, bathrooms . You have to climb up into the 2-story turret that was built to overlook the original owner's peach trees. Now it looks out into the tree tops as you sit up to 2 levels above the peaks of the 11 gables of the roof. The first level of the turret has been converted into a library with 360 degree views - a great place to relax. The second story of the turret can be used as a great hide-away or a place to play some music. The home sleeps 12 and has enough beds for most combinations. There are 4 queen beds, 1 double bed and 3 twin beds - allowing everyone to spread out if they wish. The home is offered as a vacation rental for the first time in decades this summer (2019). It will be fully furnished and appointed to make your stay as comfortable as can be. We also offer full-house wifi to allow you to stay connected while you are just blocks from the south beach area of South Haven. You are also just 5-6 blocks from beautiful downtown South Haven that is lined with great shops and delicious restaurants. We are glad to make recommendations for you on where to dine while in town. The home is situated on 4 parcels and extends all the way from one block, through the middle of the block, to the other street. There is plenty of room for your group to enjoy the great MI weather in the yard - whether that is playing lawn games or relaxing in a hammock. We hope that you will find that the Peach Mansion in South Haven has all that you need for your vacation. Please reach out with any questions.

This old home on a large lot was perfect for our extended family of 9. Lots of indoor and outdoor space--2 kitchens (we used one to cook in and the other for snacks ad drinks) and 2 living areas. We were all able to sit at the dining room at the same time--something very important to us. There was a fire pit--but it was a little too warm to use, so we just sat outside in the shade and enjoyed each others company. We were able to walk downtown and wander in all the shops. The lake was a short drive away with very nice beach. We would definitely come again. We had a few minor questions that were answered promptly. For being such an old house it was very quiet--no squeaky floors.

Great experience! Two families and matriarch (10 people total) spread out in this old mansion a few blocks east of downtown. Fast walkers can hit the downtown tasting rooms and shops within 10 minutes. Great fire pit in yard along with a game room with ping pong and poker table and fusball. Great architect/interior designer Eye brought to the many rooms including furnishings, paint colors, and wood trim. Modern tech available including WiFi and flat screens. First floor adequately cooled by central air. Upstairs has fans and window a/C's. The library tower is a must chill out spot. Two kitchens. Provide plenty of space for storing snacks and drinks and prepping dinner for nights in.

We originally booked this property back in 2020, then COVID shut that down, so we rolled it over to the summer of 2021, but our daughter was having a baby then and we decided to wait and rolled it over to 2022, and the third time was a charm.
The house is really cool and we had plenty of room for my wife and I, our daughters family, and our son in law's brother's family (10 total). Having two kitchens was really nice, and the large dining table was a great place to eat (and occasionally work a little).
We are from a St Louis suburb and the temperature the week we were in South Haven was around 99+ the whole week, so it was really nice to avoid that for a while.
Jill was very helpful, and the town of South Haven and the beach were very enjoyable. We will try to do it again some time if we can!

We celebrated a half century birthday with card games and board games. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Enjoyed having multiple kitchens and eating places. Loved the great table in the main dining room. It was enough room for everyone to eat dinner together. Absolutely loved the house and will definitely come back!

We really loved all the extra amenities! Bluetooth speaker to use, the game room, the beach toys and the Roku tv’s. The beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of room and we loved having 2 living rooms. Jill was an excellent host/manager and left us a growler of Three Blondes beer. We loved all the space and having the elevator and first floor bedroom allowed our family ADA access. The only thing I would say is that despite the ADA access the bathrooms are not ADA accessible, the main floor bedroom is not private (as others mentioned, it is a partial wall, we hung a blanket for privacy) and the seating is too low for an individual needing more accessible seating.

Impressive home. Large and unique. We enjoyed our week in this beautiful house. Had a few issues with plumbing and lack of towels but both were addressed promptly. What we loved was the size. Having two kitchens, living rooms & three bathrooms was so nice. Large dining room table & outside deck made it easy to gather together . The grounds were so serine & lush it is hard to believe you are so close to town.
I felt the owner & house manager went out of their way to help make our stay very enjoyable.
The negatives are walking to the beach is to long of a haul with chairs & supplies. That means paying for parking which is not easy to come by. The house was not as clean as I would have liked. We were told they had to hire new cleaners because of covied. We saw mouse poop in cupboard under sink and asked for help with a wasp nest near front door. A musty smell in upstairs bedrooms and not as cool as we like for sleeping. The living room furniture is not comfortable.
Why have a bedroom with an inside window with openings so there is no privacy.
The good outweighed the bad and it was a fun week in a very unique home.

The house is an old beauty! It was fun to stay at. There is 1 bedroom on the first floor that is not totally private because of an open window, but we just turned lights out at that end at night, & it was fine. The rest of the bedrooms are upstairs. There is 1 bathroom upstairs that also has the laundry in it & 2 downstairs. It was fun to stay in such a historic home with it’s interesting quirks. We also enjoyed the deck, yard, and game room. We spent a lot of our time at the house. We usually drove when we went to the beach, out to eat, & shopping because of the distance. Some in our group walked to South Beach one day, it was quite a distance, & they were tired when they got back, but it is doable. Being an old house there were some challenges with small children like the spiral staircase. We were able to block it. The back stairs has a door, so we could just shut that. They had a lot of nice things like a gas grill, fire pit, child’s wagon that we used. It was a nice place to spend time with family. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Perfect spot for a family
We truly didn’t have enough time in south haven! This was my second time visiting the Peach Mansion and I still loved every part of it. It’s truly perfect for families with multiple spaces to put down babies or kids. Beds are all really comfy and the kitchen is well stocked. The porch and yard provide a nice place as well to hangout. We enjoyed a fire one night and s’mores with the use of their fire pit and sticks. Due to the older home, the rooms are laid out in a somewhat odd manor, some are connected and such-but that didn’t bother us one bit! One bedroom is on the main level and has a window into the next room, so a little odd, but again we made it work. Just a note for some travelers because it’s hard to see layouts in the photos. Jill and Serge were the kindest host you could have! Extremely helpful with everything. Loved the history and charm of this old mansion.

Home away from home
This property was exactly what we wished for when spending a week away from home with family. Plenty of space to gather together or enough room to escape for a bit with a book or for a nap. We played games and coffee on the porch in the mornings and afternoons and cuddled on the couches together at night. The downtown area is just a short walk away. We decided to drive to the beach everyday because we toted so much stuff with us but you could walk it if you were ambitious. The kids could not get over how many rooms this place had and, of course, the little attic nook was fought for many times. Correspondence with the management team was great and they answered all of our questions almost instantaneously. Couldn' t think of one thing I wished they had on hand that wasn't provided. The only feedback my 13, 12 and 9 year old kids had was that next time we should invite more people to stay with us!

Excellent home away from home
The home was more than I expected, a wonderful place to house all our family. There was plenty of space, but it did not feel too large. There were so many small touches put into the home that really made it feel special. I highly recommend this!
Our family of 12 had everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. The two kitchens were fantastic, it was great having a washer and dryer and most importantly to us - a dining room table to fit everyone!

Peach mansion
Had a wonderful time in SOHA and Peach Mansion! I love old homes especially when they are being brought back to life!
Jill was amazing! She met my “older” in laws upon arrival and introduced the home to them.
The space is very well appointed and the two kitchens were great with a large group. We used one for drinks and prep and the other for cooking. The dining room was perfect for meals. The buffet was perfect for happy hour spreads and dinner buffets. We were reminded how nice it is to gather around the table and enjoy each other. The bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms sparkly clean. You have to notice the light fixtures- gorgeous!
If pressed and I had to describe a “negative”, the upstairs rooms got a little warm at night despite the many fans but nothing terrible. Also, the downstairs bedroom is not completely private due to a gorgeous half wall. Only a problem if you wanted to be in the kitchen or the next room and you possibly could disturb those sleeping in there. This wasn’t an issue with us because we would move to the other half of house if my in laws went to bed. It’s possible to walk to town and lake but it is across a busy street and hard to do with a toddler, older people and heat. I must have read something wrong because I thought beach and town were five or so blocks away. We never had a problem driving and parking to places we wanted to go.
Wonderful home, great memories. You will love it!

Beautiful Mansion
My group had a really amazing vacation at this beautifully restored mansion! The house is set up nicely so that there are plenty of common areas to hang out, and the many bedrooms allow everyone their privacy. The décor is just really well-done, attention paid to every detail! We had a bit of an issue when we arrived where the air conditioning wouldn't turn on -- I think we may have been the first guests to need it. Serge and Jill were so attentive and quick to fix the problem and made sure the rest of our stay was wonderful. Awesome home, excellent hosts...thank you!!

Girls Weekend
This home is amazing. The location was perfect as it allowed us rather active ladies to walk to south beach (20 minutes) and to the downtown (15 minutes) for shopping and dining. This home has 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and enough beds for the 7 of us that we didn’t have to share (there was even one bed left unoccupied). Plenty of space to all be together but still spaces to catch a little quite. Having a grill worked perfectly as we love to grill. The amenities were great. Wagon to use to take to the beach, coffee makers, fluffy towels, fully stocked kitchens (for cooking and tableware). Even a washer and dryer! Checking and out was simple and easy. We had 5 cars and there was plenty of parking. We will highly recommend this home to our friends and family.
