QUIET & secluded three BDRM (2 king & 2 DB), 2 full baths, kitchen, family room w/grand piano, deck, 16x16 private fire pit & gas grill (available mid-May thru mid-October/November). 1680 square feet, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths allows each guest plenty of personal and private space. Much larger and more comfortable than any hotel room or condo in the Village. 3 brand new Roku Smart TV’s. NY Snowmobile Trails 1 mile from our front door. Cross country ski trails just over 1 mile away. And Whiteface Mountain, ONLY 10 miles away. We have a HUGE parking lot with plenty of room to park your cars and snowmobile trailer. .4 mile to Main Street (corner of Main Street and McKinley Ave). Movies, bowling alley, Starbucks, ice cream, churches, bars, and many restaurants also on Main Street. Distance may vary, based on your destination. (Updated 1/5/2024). Dogs (NON SHEDDING) Welcome, with HOST approval, (NO Pits or Pit mix breed) for $100 per 2 night stay. Additional $25 per night, after initial 2 nights. 2 dogs MAX & must be potty trained, pee pad use not allowed. Dogs not allowed in or on beds. If evidence of them in or on beds you will lose $50 of deposit. Pet fee paid, in CASH ONLY, directly to host at check in. There is a STRICTLY enforced Leash Law in the Village. All dogs must be walked on a leash. Guest interaction: Owners stay in basement apartment with SEPARATE entrance - giving you TOTAL privacy!! However, available should questions arise. A friendly, 6 year old, Siberian Husky lives on property. He does not bark, you won’t know he’s here unless you see us walk him. Guests will NOT have interaction with him and are NOT allowed to pet/touch him! We enjoyed our stay at the Cassidy Longhouse, and it was extremely convenient with our 11 yr old dog. The space had plenty of room for 6 adults and there were some great touches that made it very welcoming. The property is just under a mile to the Main St. and the downtown area. The listing states .3 miles. As another poster stated, there are a lot of rules with the house. The owner sends them ahead of time and there is a binder in the rental for reference. The rules all make sense, and there is nothing one wouldn't expect - but it felt a little overwhelming.
Overall it was a great stay and I would stay here again if I had a pet, or if I wanted quiet from the Main St. area during a busy holiday week. The owners are very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Amanda was so easy to work with. Her home is extremely clean and welcoming. We had the upstairs and her family was down. I don’t know if they could hear us but we couldn’t hear them. It’s hard finding a place that lets you bring multiple dogs but she does. Her fee for dogs is very reasonable. The home is located in a neighborhood with sidewalks so it made it easy to walk the dogs. I will definitely star this home for the next round of climbing the High Peaks.

This property is minutes from Main St and a pleasure to stay in. The owners are super accommodating and the location is perfect. We saw some amazing wildlife in the back yard and the house is super clean. Definitely would stay here again!

We had amazing time at this property! Amanda contacted me early with information about check in and the property so I knew what to expect. The house was clean and welcoming. It was perfect for a group dinner our first night and relaxing before and after games during the Can-Am rugby tournament. Easy walk into Lake Placid too if you didn’t want to drive. I highly recommend.

Really enjoyed staying here. The house is lovely and was perfect for our family when we went skiing. The area is nice and quiet and it is well located to get to everything in Lake Placid. Amanda is very helpful, quick to respond to questions and a great host.

The home is very clean, well stocked with amenities and actually feels larger than VRBO pics… Amanda’s communication was incredible from when we arrived through checkout. Amazing location… grocery store, sledding, Whiteface and downtown.

This place was great! Quiet location, yet close enough to all the shops and restaurants downtown. Central to many of the area sights and attractions. Super clean and comfortable and the hostess was exceptionally kind and easy to work with. Lots of room for a family of 6. We loved our stay here and will probably stay here again.

A wonderful rental property
We loved this rental property as we were able to bring our dog on vacation with us for the weekend while enjoying a quiet relaxing environment that we wouldn’t have gotten at a hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the host was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We will definitely book this place again next winter!

New Year’s Ski Trip
The house was super clean and comfortable. Amanda had everything you needed there. She also had local information and house information/rules laid out in a binder which was helpful. If we needed anything, she was a text message away, which she was very responsive. I would recommend this rental.

Great getaway in Lake Placid
We stayed at Cassidy's Longhouse for our annual family ski/snowboarding trip in February 2021. Of all the places we've stayed in the past, I must say this is one of the best!
We came in late in the evening, however had absolutely no issue settling in as Amanda had provided us with a lot of useful information ahead of our stay. She was also very quick to respond to my small and detailed questions (sorry!).
The house is kept very clean with good amount of lighting. The furnitures (the couch in the living area) and amenities provided really made us feel at home. Our yellow lab Angel got her own private space as well, with the metal crate that Amanda had prepared for her.
The location is also very good, away from the noise yet close enough to the center of Lake Placid.
It was our first time in Lake Placid / Whiteface. I am sure it won't be our last, and definitly love to come back to stay at Cassidy's Longhouse. Highly recommended for those looking to enjoy good skiing/snowboarding, and a relaxing time at home in the evening. Thank you very much for hosting us, Amanda!!

Great location and beautiful accommodations.
Very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Perfect location for skiing at Whiteface, cross country skiing at Mt. Van Hoevenberg and dinner in the town of Lake Placid. Host, Amanda, is great, quick to respond to all inquiries. We also really enjoyed seeing the beautiful huskies out in the yard enjoying the snow.

We had a terrific stay at Amanda's place, and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Amanda's warm greeting, responsiveness on the phone both before and during our stay, and the cleanliness of the accommodations were greatly appreciated. New flooring, bathrooms, furniture, and decor have made the home a showplace with lovely, homey touches. We especially appreciated the fact that there were king beds in two of the bedrooms and ample comfy seating for all of us in the living room. We also appreciated the tv in the master bedroom. We felt right at home during our stay, and had a great time.

Winter Visit to Lake Placid
Amanda was super easy to work with, very accommodating and very friendly! Her house was extremely clean, which is one of our top priorities. The location was great for access to Mirror Lake and the town. Easy to run from the house to Mirror Lake Drive and then around beautiful Mirror Lake. We had a great time!

Three bedrooms, 2 full baths, full kitchen, living room and dining room and lovely piano. Well appointed with plenty of reference and respect to military service (I'm a veteran, so thank you!).
The home was close enough to the main drag yet far enough from the noise and lights of the village during peak time. A short 2-minute drive into the village center and Whiteface Mountain was about 20-minutes away.
For convenience, space and home away from home, I highly recommended this rental for a family or group of friends.

Amazing property and so inexpensive
Easy process to rent, owners answered any questions we had very quickly, I’m not a dog person, but, having said that, these two dogs that live on the property are not only beautiful, but so so well behaved. Very comfortable. We never heard or saw the owners unless we wanted to. There were 6 that stayed for a girls weekend away, and we all felt at home. Thank you to Amanda.

Absolutely Incredible! Couldn't have asked for a better place!
We came up for a weekend wedding and spent a lot of time beforehand searching for a house to rent. This place was very budget friendly! when we got there, it was larger than we originally thought, The 3 bedrooms had enough beds, and they were big enough that 4 adults, and 3 children had plenty of room, in fact there was only one couple, easily could have had 2 more adults and nobody would have been sleeping on a couch. Don't be scared to book this place due to size of your family. Very clean, very neat, and pretty much fully stocked with everything we needed. Except food of course. Very welcome feeling like we lived there. We have 3 small children, and there was a DVD player and lots of DVDs to keep them happy while we were at the house. The dogs out back were very well behaved and BEAUTIFUL. And even though the owners live downstairs, you would never know it. Never heard or seen them our whole stay. Free Wifi, included. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Thank you for letting us stay in such a beautiful house.

My communication with the owner somehow got loss because it all redirect to Home away site, that result our check in and communication with pets in difficult situation. They charge us lot additional $200 dollar (cash) per night.

Very clean and convenient to everything!
The house was very clean and convenient to what I think of as the lower part of town. If we didn't have very small children we would have walked everywhere. Amanda made us feel very welcome with scented candles and nice towels and very comfortable beds. There are a lot of families on the street, so our small kids were comfortable using scooters etc when we weren't visiting the sights. I am at dog person, so it didn't bother me, but Amanda has two beautiful huskies (pictured). They do howl when a fire truck or ambulance goes by. That may bother some people.

Quiet and Convenient
This is a great place for visiting Lake Placid. The house itself is very comfortable and ‘home-y’. It has everything you need to make yourself right at home. Having use of the firepit was spectacular!
The location is perfect. Tucked away just on the edge of town, it’s very quiet and peaceful. But a short walk away are shops and great restaurants, as well as the public beach on Mirror Lake.
We were visiting to cheer on friends at Ironman, and this location was also great for walking to the start, being along the course to cheer on cyclists and runners, and heading back to the house to take a break for a bit while waiting for your racer to circle back around.
Perhaps best of all, Amanda was incredibly friendly and helpful!
Can’t wait to go back again next year.

Great place in secluded area close to Main Street
Two of my triathlon teammates and I rented this place for four days to train for the race. Everything worked out great! Place was clean, everyone had their furnished room, bedding and towels were also provided. Pretty large common area, kitchen with pans, pots, utensils, coffee maker, microwave, fridge and some condiments. There was a gas grill outside that we used and fire pit with chairs around it. Walking distance to the Main street and Mirror lake. Amanda (the owner) was very nice and accommodative when she could. She would always quickly respond back when I contacted her. I would definitely consider renting this place again.

WONDERFUL FAMILY VACATION
We absolutely loved this place! The owners were extremely nice and helpful! We spent the whole vacation outside and at the lake. The kids loved the outside play area and it was so nice to actually be able to bring our dogs with us! We plan on staying here each time we come to visit!!

Excellent stay at the Cassidy Place
Great value, good service and support. We had 7 in our party and the layout of the house provided great separation and grouping together both. Plenty of room and great kitchen. We stayed during one of the coldest weather events and the house was perfect for temperature in spite of -20F to 0F lows and highs outside. Access to the house was good and proximity to Lake Placid and a lot of great restaurants was perfect. The drive to the Olympic venues was less than 20 min and we felt like it was our home for a few days. I would recommend the location and the owners were friendly, accommodating and great to talk to.
