About this house rental

Nestled in Truckee, this charming house for $663 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Ten Secluded Acres Private | Unique | Upscale | Wild The Truckee Chalet is the quintessential Sierra mountain home. If you are looking for privacy, tranquility, and a place to unwind, this is the property that you have been looking for. PLEASE NOTE: All of the bathrooms in the home are completely renovated; the Matterport video walkthrough shows the old bathrooms-we've also made many upgrades to the home since that video was taken. Rustic and absolutely one of a kind. You have never rented a property like this before. Location: The Truckee Chalet is just a few minutes from downtown Truckee where you can enjoy high-quality restaurants, galleries, and shops. The property is in the middle of the forest so plan on seeing a wide variety of wildlife: Bears | Bobcats | Deer | Coyotes | Raccoons | Small Creatures | Birds! Activities: Enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and mountain biking on the property! The Chalet is a few miles from one of the Donner Party camps, lakes, and virtually any sort of outdoor activity that you can imagine. Pets: Bring your dogs; they will love running in the totally fenced-in corral. They will enjoy the comfy dog beds, blankets, and tasty treats. We even have crates available for you. Pet Fee: $70 per dog, per stay. We require dogs to be crated if you leave them alone when you are out. Chefs: Enjoy a well-equipped kitchen that is stocked with high-quality cookware, appliances, and tableware. You will find a fondue pot, Raclette machine, KitchenAid mixer, and much more. On the deck, there is a large, new propane grill. If you book at just the right time of year, you will find Morel mushrooms growing on the property! Chalet: Constructed with reclaimed railroad timbers, the residence is just over 3,000 sq. ft. and has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large covered deck with stunning views of Mt. Rose. Children, and adults, will enjoy seeing the Pacific Railway boxcar that sits on the property. Bring your large RV; there is plenty of parking available, no hookups. Build a fire in the massive granite fireplace; the ambiance of the Chalet in the evening, with a roaring fire going, can’t be described in words. Note that live fires are banned during the fire season. *Romantic Getaway? Yes. *Great place to get engaged? Yes. *Fun property that all adults, kids, and dogs love? Yes. *Smores? Yes. Snow: The road to the Chalet is 3/10 of a mile long and winds through the forest. If snow is in the forecast during your stay, you MUST have a 4WD & snow chains. We are NOT exaggerating; the road is steep, windy, and slippery when covered with snow. You will NOT make it up or down the road unless you have chains on. Please note that no refunds are provided if you do not follow this rule. Plan on getting snowed in! The snow plow company plows the road once per day when there are 4 or more inches of snow. During the winter months, there is nothing better than watching the snow fall from the warmth and coziness of the Chalet. Getting snowed in is part of the fun. NO SKI LEASES. Note: Due to the secluded location of the house, the increased break-ins into rental properties, and for your safety, we have operating RING cameras on site. One overlooking the front of the driveway, one facing the back towards the train car, one facing into the forest towards Mount Rose, one facing into the forest/dog corral, and a smart doorbell at the front door.

This property was wonderful. The attention to detail was a 10/10. It felt like a home that was lived in rather than a rental, because of the quality of furnishings and thoughtfulness. The beds and bedding were really comfy. The property itself is gorgeous and private. We loved not being able to see or hear neighbors. The outdoor living space was also lovely. It was too hot to use the outdoor fireplaces, but next time! We had a great time with the pool table and video games inside. We didn't get to the bocce or horseshoes or volleyball. We will be back :)

We had a wonderful time at this gorgeous property. The outside was breathtaking at night with the lighted trees and the inside was immaculate and spacious. My elderly father had no issue getting around, and our two teenagers had a blast in the hang out room on the ground level. We would definitely recommend to large parties and those who are looking for a cabin in the woods!

As the above title describes we were at the Chalet during a snowy long weekend. It is a pristine property and beautiful home. We hiked, show shoed, soaked in the hot tub and spent many hours around the fireplace. The home is well stocked and very comfortable. We brought our dog and there were plenty of blankets and toys for her to enjoy. The hosts presented us with a wine and treats for both the people and our dog. I would love to stay in the Chalet during the summer as I expect the hiking in that area would be beautiful.

Such a well furnished home, so many cute touches to the interior and exterior. Nice surprises await. Will definitely stay here again and again. The only complaint is the main floor bedroom pillows need replacing.
