The cabin stay was very relaxing but the cabin floors were nasty, some of the pull out couches were nasty under them like nobody sweeps and there was food in the beds and I reached out to them and all they would say is it had been cleaned prior then stated in a separate email it wasn’t reachable because of road conditions. The microwave was busted and the bottom part of the refrigerator was falling off.

I chose this rental for our family spring break vacation and we were not disappointed. There were plenty of things to keep you entertained or occupied while there. Our kids are 11, 9 and 4 and we never heard them say we were bored, instead we head laughter and watched memories being made. Every vacation has some negatives and disappointments so I’ll share mine. 1, our vacation was too short in this cabin. 2, we didn’t see any bears. Now to nitpick (no impact on our stay) 3, one blind on the main floor didn’t open, but would raise. 4, the score tabs on foosball were broken upon arrival, and the arcade stick for “up” had to be in the right spot. We died a lot. Now for the positives. 1, the cabin is very spacious cover 3 floors which gives everyone a place to relax. 2. Just far enough from the strip that it is very quiet but also the short drive does not bother you. 3, the communication from the rental company is perfect. They reach out by email or text leading up to you stay, they contacted us 3 times while on our stay with a welcome text, a day or so later with a how is everything text, and the night before leaving with a thank you and instructions text. Perfect, they were not overbearing. If they called I don’t know, we spent most of our time hiking without cell service. 4, they had the hot tub clean and warming up upon our arrival. 5, all beds were comfortable and clean. 6, the pool table, arcade and fooseball table were enjoyable. 7, the theater area was nice to sit and relax while the kids wound down for the night. 8, the kitchen was equipped with everything we would need. Overall great stay. This was our first vacation that my wife has ever said “that was perfect, the only thing I would have changed was just one more day to sit and relax on the porches before the 10 hr drive home.”. If we ever return to Gatlinburg, we would definitely choose to stay with Elk Springs again. W

Spacious cabin with wonderful amenities. Location is convenient. The hot tub was nicely maintained. The house was clean but the linens were not clean. We found hair from previous guests on many of the pillow cases. It seems many of the pillow cases weren’t laundered.

Only a few things that was not right about the cabin- there is no bathroom on the main floor. The pull out couches were not comfortable. We found a cup of tea from the previous guests under one of the beds, and one bed was hard to sleep on due to feeling like the springs were in your back. Besides those issues, it was an enjoyable stay!

Overall, we were disappointed with this cabin and would not stay there in the future. The items of concern that we had were as follows - (1) No bathroom on the main floor. This was particularly a problem for my 92-year-old mother. (2) Only two small closets available for the entire cabin. Grossly inadequate for a four-bedroom cabin that sleeps 12. Also, there were no coat racks. (3) The wi-fi signal in the main bedroom on the top floor was weak and often would drop out completely. (4) The "home theater" was nothing more than a large screen on the wall in the downstairs sitting area. No theater seats or separate room. (5) Fireplaces inside were turned off and not available for use despite it already being fall. It would have been nice to use them on the mornings during our stay when the temperatures outside were in the 40's and 50's. (6) The floor in our bedroom was gritty with dirt and needed cleaning. (7) Although the kitchen and dining areas were good, we felt that other furnishings in the cabin were worn and should have been replaced. This was our fourth cabin rental with Elk Springs. We have been very pleased with them in the past and will be using them for our future cabin rentals. Just not this cabin.

The rental home was nothing more than exceptional. The amount of space it has was just amazing. All three levels each has their own balcony that either featured a hot tub or unique fireplace with plenty of place to relax and watch the scenery. Inside featured an amazing kitchen that supplied all our cooking needs(of course you bring the food) but they even supplied seasonings. How thoughtful! The lower level featured a getaway room with its own bathroom access. Also on the lower level was the pool table, foosball, and movie theater screen that we all enjoyed so very much. Having a washer in dryer in the home was a brilliant idea because it definitely came in handy. The unique all around fireplace that stands under the great room was the most warmest place to be around while awaiting for dinner. The host was very thoughtful by checking in on us all to make sure we were settled in nicely. As far as a rating the BEAR CUB LODGE is our newest favorite place to vacay. We are looking forward to visiting again♥️

I was nervous about the whole rental process from booking, getting directions to access code; but Elk Springs manager was very helpful and everything went smoothly. I would stay at this property again because it was the perfect setup. Kitchen and living room on the main floor with a pullout sofa then downstairs was the game room with pull-out sofa and a king-size bed/bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs there were 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a king bedroom. There was another living room with a pull-out sofa so a total of 3 couches (1 on each level) all having pull-out beds along with 4 other bedrooms. The house is beautiful and set up nicely. The only complaint is the cleaning.. 1 of the bathrooms Smelt like urine and behind all the doors and all the baseboards it was just full of crud/dust and you could tell that they don’t ever wipe anything off they just do the basics nothing extra. I went to CVS and purchased spray bleach and other cleaner just to clean the house up some. Whenever I spray the tile with bleach in the bathroom that smell like urine it bubbled up which means there was Pee on the floor! The cleaning people need to do a better job because that’s just pathetic but the house made up for it I will definitely book it again.

We traveled with a group of 15 (several children). The cabin had plenty to offer for everyone. The kids loved the games and the adults loved the outside area. The only two complaints are that there were no outside chairs in the hot tub area and that the floor needed to be mopped when we arrived.

We had plenty of room at the table to sit and eat our meals, as well as, play the card and dice games we played. The cabin was fully stocked. The snow was a plus and the surroundings were beautiful covered in snow. We will definitely be back to Elks Springs Resort. I love the courtesy call from the staff making sure we were doing well.

Location was perfect. Was pleased overall with the cabin. A few things would have made this a 5 star:
1. Clean dishes. Lots of the glasses, plates and bowls has old food on them.
2. Having a blow dryer, nothing like freezing weather and having wet hair.
3. If the projector worked and had a proper video of how to operate the video provided was not for the same equipment.
4. The down stairs was freezing unless you got up every few hours in the night to turn on the 1 hour fireplace timer. We were told to close the vents upstairs and that did not help.
So in the summer this would be great. But for the winter is needs some things addressed.
Staff was amazing with communication.
1. Clean dishes. Lots of the glasses, plates and bowls has old food on them.
2. Having a blow dryer, nothing like freezing weather and having wet hair.

We were a family of six and the cabin fit our needs. We had a wonderful time and the resort area is beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and our safe, quality family time. Things that need improvement: no bathroom on the main floor, secure shower rods, mattresses need replacing, refrigerator had broken drawer and didn't get very cold. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would return to this resort, but in a different cabin.

This is our second time renting a cabin at Elk Springs. The first experience was fabulous. This one was not very good.
The Bear Cub Lodge cabin needs a lot of TLC!
We paid for a Ritz Carlton experience and got a Motel 6 experience.
Floors squeaked, beds squeaked and were horrible, TV's were Sceptre a Walmart brand, one TV did not work and one had lines down the center of the picture. The laminate on the kitchen island was peeling.
Lighting was horrible. The cleanliness upon check-in was poor at best.
We called maintenance and they fixed a few things and the office was supposed to call us but never did.
I really expect a partial refund!
Willing to try another cabin.
Need to get a call and credit on next stay.
The Bear Cub Lodge cabin needs a lot of TLC!

We loved the cabin, It was very clean but. didn't have enough pots and pans. Usually with this size cabin you have big pans and bowls, we had to wash pans to fix next dish...Would of liked to have a crock pot too.
