Both the railway station and the city center are close by. A clean, simple room.
Breakfast was terrible. The bread was stale every day; they couldn't spare even a single tomato or cucumber, the coffee was awful, etc. In the end, I bought breakfast at a shop. After checking in, I didn't see anyone around; there was no staff at all, so I couldn't leave my luggage there. I’ve never encountered anything like this before. The air would have been pleasant at night with the window open, but there were no mosquito screens.

The Ostello is a large complex, so is easy to find.
It is about a ten minute walk from the railway station, and about the same into town.
The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially the young woman on reception.
The bed was very comfortable, sound-proofing was good, and the inclusive breakfast was great.
A coffee and drinks dispenser was available in the common area for beverages at a reasonable price, along with some cooking equipment for your own meal preparation.
My room was on the fourth floor and this may have affected the delivery of hot water, for it took quite a while for it to warm up.
Although a fridge was available in the common area, a small one in the room would have been nice.

Location is good, near the trainstation for visiting Cinque Terre. Room was spacious and had a small kitchenette and a decent bathroom. Generally pretty clean, however some spots were not cleaned in a long time (hair/spiderwebs). Staff were friendly and the accommodation offers parking which was great. Room has airconditioning.
The airconditioning made a very loud noise and we weren’t able to adjust any settings. Had to swap the remote batteries ourselves to finally get it to cool the room.
The second day was a bit worse for us: there was a power outage and therefore both keycards for the gate and door were not working. We tried numerous times but were unable to enter. We called their number shown on booking but that wasn’t answered, all we heard was a repeated message in Italian. We called them on WhatsApp and no response either. Only after texting we got a reply a fair bit later, but we were already standing there for 30min.
This is not a hotel so that staff leaves, but they need to provide a backup phone number (or at least clear instructions) if problems like these occur.
