Hotel Sofia by The Railway Station Wroclaw

Fair price, good and clean room. Lovely bakery (Luca) outside the hotel- good for breakfast.

No spoons (cutlery) to make coffee but when I asked in reception this problem was resolved.

Was very good.

Location and price

Everything was ok

I loved exploring the beautiful city of Wrocław. I spent most of my time walking around and enjoying the sights. The staff were kind and did try their best to help with the facilities available to them, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the room itself didn't live up to expectations.

I was very disappointed with my stay. The pictures online looked nothing like the room I was given, which was very dated, with a style that felt more like 2011. I spent most of my time out enjoying Wrocław and walking around, so I wasn't in the room much. However, the room was very cold at night, although I was able to put an extra duvet on the bed. The curtain also didn't close fully. I raised the issue of the cold room with staff. Unfortunately, after getting caught in the rain and having my coat soaked, I was told the heating couldn't be fixed until Monday, despite having been there all week. A member of staff kindly handed me a hairdryer to help dry my coat. I have to say that the staff did try to help and were lovely to deal with, but it felt as though they had very little to work with. For the first two nights, there was a very pungent sulphur/sewage smell, which was extremely unpleasant. I had to keep the bathroom door closed, and using the shower was not a pleasant experience. The television wasn't a smart TV, and noise was another issue, with people repeatedly slamming doors. On one occasion, I had to walk past a man who was sleeping in the hallway and snoring. The room phone also rang at midnight and woke me from my sleep before ringing off. Unfortunately, the room did not meet my expectations, and the smell in particular made the stay unpleasant. I appreciate that the staff tried their best to help with the facilities available to them, but the accommodation itself was a let-down. Although I enjoyed exploring this beautiful city, I wouldn't choose to stay here again.
