Location near village was idyllic, gardens / grounds were large and lovely. Views fabulous from house and from garden.

We were blown away by the house. It was a lot larger and grander than we expected! We felt like lords and ladies for the weekend!
We enjoyed the log burner, grand piano, games on the lawn and cooking and dining in the big warm kitchen.
The furniture and decoration was all quality, classy and authentic with creative modern elements too.
It is a short walk to the spectacular cauldron falls and we got a takeaway pub food from the nice pub in the village.
Aysgarth falls was also somewhere nice to walk to.
Communication from the owner was great.
Overall we loved our weekend here and feel lucky to have stayed in such a gorgeous place. We thought it was really good value for money.

We had mixed reviews about the comfort of the beds and there was a few cobwebs about, but overall cleanliness and comfort was fine and the fantastic atmosphere of the place excused this and made it a more authentic big old house.
The grounds were a little overgrown and dilapidated but cannot complain as the more it is booked I'm sure the more can be done to restore it to its glory.
I think this is reflected well in the price.

The property was fantastic for a family get together. It is near to several local attractions whilst being surrounded by gorgeous countryside and its own gardens. The house itself is rustic and so spacious.

We all enjoyed the beautiful house and grounds. The location was perfect for walking. The house itself was full of character and had everything we needed. We likes the space and choice of sitting rooms with fireplaces. We enjoyed a fire with our own logs and enjoyed the gardens for archery. The kitchen table was fab to dine at. The aga was great, nice and warm in the kitchen, we cooked a brisket in it. Dishwasher & fridge very good. Heating and water perfect temperature.
Despite the positives, we all felt that it was not clean. Under furniture there were dead insects, along skirting boards was lots of caked dust. And cobwebs everywhere.Mirrors and windows were not clean, the shower room was awful and only partially tiled! Most of it was bare, grey render with a bench toilet!!! Not great. The sofas in 1 sitting room were uncomfortable. The place needed a lot of TLC and deserves it too, it's a lovely home. The kitchen had a 2 slice toaster! Could include a bigger 1!
