1. Rooms are dimly lit with just two small lamps. Furthermore, light from the window is blocked by neighbouring buildings. Overall led to a pretty dull room atmosphere.
2. Tea/coffee supplies are not replenished regularly by housekeeping

Book it only if you are going to be staying at the hotel most of the time. If you are going to be on tours everyday and only coming back to sleep, probably not worth it. Although my experience at Novotel was nice, I rate it as average cos there are many more boutique hotels in Cusco with similar rooms and better views available for less than half the price. The staff are very helpful and almost everyone could communicate in English. I appreciate that they sent a cake to my room the day of my wife's birthday. The room was nice but for $170 it seemed ok. For the last day of the trip, we could cancel our stay at Novotel for free and moved into a boutique hotel for $63 a night where we got upgraded to a suite room with 300 degree view of the mountains. So could have saved $400 had we booked this hotel for the complete stay.
I booked a room with 2 twin beds as there was no room available with Full/King bed. The receptionist had told me the day of check-in that they would move us to a different room the next day. However, we were not moved as no other rooms were available. I totally understand that they might be fully booked but you expect them to give you priority when you book 5 nights with them. They could have probably compensated us for the breakfast we had on 2 days. I could have become a loyal customer.
