The rooms were fabulous. Very spacious and clean. The houndstooth room boasted a beautiful bathtub overlooking the mountains. We didn’t dine here but the breakfast room and communal areas were beautifully decorated and very clean.
Our only qualm with the room was that there nowhere to hang wet clothes or towels after a walk in the rain or a wild swim.
Our only other issue was that the website did say there was a hatch serving pizzas on the garden Tuesday - Saturday but this didn’t open once during our 3 night stay Thursday - Sunday which was a shame.

Spacious family room. Clean and tidy. Nice bathroom. Close to all Grasmere had to offer.
The breakfast was super lean and not much of a variety.

Central setting in village within grounds. Quiet, clean, very comfortable beds. Very nice breakfast.
Bar would have had nice ambience, but at least one member of staff was making as much noise as possible smashing empty glass bottles - sounded like a factory!

Great location. Good breakfast. Bar has good atmosphere. Nice garden and grounds.
Uncomfortable mattress. Our first room, a Tweedie Suite, had a strange unpleasant smell (also cracked window pane) and after raising this we were moved to another room.
We had stayed maybe 3 or 4 times before and felt this stay was not as good as we’d hoped for.
You also have to go outside to get to the bar now.
No one was in reception on arrival or departure.
