Good location and friendly staff. Rooms excellent value for the money.
The Inn’s car park was very busy in the evening due to non residents being able to park when visiting the Inn for food/drinks and we found it really difficult to find a parking space when returning to the Inn later in the day. In the end we had to park on a car park in the village centre for a while but luckily we managed to find 1 available space at the Inn about 9pm in the evening so we did manage to leave the car on the Inn’s car park overnight. Allocated parking when staying would have been preferred.

The location was great, right on the edge of Grasmere village. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was also very good.
The property is a bit run down. In our bedroom (no 31) we had the smallest bathroom I’ve ever been in. It was difficult to manoeuvre yourself around the toilet to be able to close the door and you were in danger of burning yourself on the heated towel rail when squeezing past it to get in the shower.
The room had an adjoining door to next door which was not soundproof at all and we could hear every word of their conversations and were woken by them at 6 in the morning on the day they left. Beds are not particularly comfy and would benefit from mattress toppers.
