Staff were helpful but unable to resolve issues.
The hotel requires major investment. It is old and shabby and in dire need of improvement. Windows in the bedroom did not shut properly, fittings in the bathroom were held together with tape, etc... The phone appeared to be out of service - the advertised number didn't exist when I called it. There was no response to emails. I had to chase the hotel via Booking.com, which in itself is not an easy task.

Was very pleased with the hotel for comfort, service and cleanliness.
Breakfast choice was very good.
Dined in the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent.
Staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel could do with a bit of an update would have been nice to see tables layout with knives and forks salt and pepper and perhaps a little decoration just to make it look more appealing a

Staff very friendly and accommodating, and the owner even left a card and wine in our room for my husband's birthday.
Food was very nice in the restaurant. Tea and coffee supplies in the room were replenished daily.
Our room was a little on the small side and my husband bashed his leg on the corner of the bed several times

The breakfast is good and staff are very attentive
The hotel is very old and I feel like I did not get value for money. The hotel is expensive and you can tell they don't invest it back to improve its facilities.
The room was extremely warm with no AC options. One of the things I found interesting was that the metal toilet holder was broken and they had stick it back in its place using selotape. A hotel that charges you almost £300 for two nights used selotape to hold together a metal tool? Additionally, when I took a shower the glass divider had a gap where the silicone bond had worn out, the water went through that gap and spread all over the bathroom door.
I hope hope they improve the state of the hotel because its in a lovely location.

Looked run down from the outside went into entrance hallway, doors and windows filthy, went into reception area and it smelt disgusting, turned around and walked out booked elsewhere.

The power of the shower was great and the bed was extremely comfortable, tv was also good and worked well as did all lights etc. Breakfast was very good and plentiful too.
no staff intraction, never spoke to anyone about checking in or checking out, nobody at breakfast asked us who we are or which room we were in. A little extra personal interaction to check all was ok would have been nice really

The Royal Goat was a very friendly very clean Hotel the food was good to , no complaints about the breakfast or the evening meals we had , great food great value 👍👍❤ would go back again an again x

The food was excellent especially the poached eggs. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and warm.
No water dripping through the ceiling in the residents lounge. The fabric of the building needs attention

The staff were lovely, the bed was super comfy and the room was very clean. The location was perfect.
I think they had only just reopened because they only took cash at the bar and had very limited drinks available. The phone lines were down and no WiFi, but I understand they we’re looking into this.

everything until less than a week to our stay we were told they are closed during the festive season yet we booked back in February . the only reason we found out they were closed “ Days before our arrival” is because we got intouch with the hotel staff via email to book a table .

Fabulous location, beautiful building, good breakfast (if a bit slow)
No TV in the room as advertised.
The shower was dangerous - either ice cold or boiling hot water, no controls. Someone could be badly burned.
I reported this to the staff who were apologetic and assured me they would close the room until the problem was solved.
I asked for a refund for at least one night. They said they couldn't arrange that but told me the.manager.would be in touch. He hasn't, despite me emailing him after our stay.

was central, a good bar, parking across from the hotel, great view from the bedroom window.
rooms were very dated, didn’t seem like they’d been fully cleaned, shower was horrendous not what you need after a long day walking.

Staffing levels were poor and this reflected our stay, guest check in keys were left in outside porch inside envelopes.
Breakfast was 8am start staff turned up at exactly 8am to set up for breakfast guests and breakfast was not edible at all.

The 5 members of staff.
Very dirty brass plate and glass on door. No light in lift, making it dangerous. Our room not being made up for the whole of the stay. Dirty towels and mugs. Beds not made or bedroom bin not emptied. Dirty cutlery at breakfast and very little choice if you didn't want something cooked. Unable to contact the photo as there is no receptionist and they don't answer the phone EVER. No mobile reception in the village so you cannot be reached in case of an emergency. In fact, we were booked to stay 5 nights and left after 3 because we just couldn't stand it any longer.
