This was our second visit and we had a lovely time. The staff are friendly, the hotel is beautiful, the facilities are excellent and the food was absolutely superb. We were warned the room might be noisy when events were on but there was a wedding that night and we didn't hear a thing.
There were a couple of minor discomforts. Our room must have been above the kitchen as there was a strong smell of food preparation all night and into the morning. The bed was also quite uncomfortable, especially the pillows.

Overall the experience was good, shower was OK however not powered
The alcoholic prices in the in house bars was extortionate, £13.00 for a glass of red wine would be extreme in London, never mind Chester.
