It was very disappointing and not at all like what the description says, would not recommend.
not a lot
The hotel was having extensive building work which we were not informed of, we had room 88, was on the main road, did not sleep for two nights due to Road noise, people noise, buss stop and station for coach trips. Room was extremely cold, had o get 2 heaters to warm room up, smelt badly of dirt and building work. Room had lots of cobwebs, looked at window, mould, dirt and old cobwebs all over it, was disgusting, but to be fair the flooring and bedding were clean. Lots of mould in bathroom, I am aware of age of building and some updates have been tried but bathroom needs a good tile overhaul so as not to see mould. blinds were very dirty, dusty and had putty on top of them. The hotel has coach loads which were loud and not at all mentioned in description, hotel is nothing like its pictures. Food was awful, £100.00 for a meal for two of us, Beetroot, Goats cheese, orange with walnuts on a bed of little gem lettuce , the salad was in-fact, 3 lumps of crumbled goats cheese, a few slices of beetroot, a peeled satsuma with the pith still on, not nice slices of skin and pith free orange, no walnuts and on a bed of a bag of sour gone off lettuce. Steak £28.00 was gristly and tough, no well presented with 1 whole partially cooked tomato and chips poor quality Panko chicken was dried out. Cheesecake was crumbly and not soft, tasted freezer burnt. The waitress did take the overpriced wine off, even this was not what we ordered as they had run out. We did not complain at the hotel as every time we went to reception it was so busy, I didn't want to discuss in-front of so many people, as the area is so small.

Very large comfortable rooms, clean, and in a great location next to the railway station
A good buffet breakfast was available. Rooms were large and very comfortable with a very spacious bathroom.
When we were at the hotel they were in the middle of renovations to the older side of the hotel and courtyard area. It took a long time to check in, with large queues, and the bar was a small section off the breakfast area that was sectioned off. I'm sure things will be much better once renovations are finished and it didn't detract from a nice stay.

Second time staying here. Hotel is great location for train station, bus stops & getting into town.
Good selection of breakfast. Unlimited hot drinks. Very good location.
Pillows were hard, which for us isn't what what we like.

Would be great but parking cost annoying.
Food was good and room well appointed.
The spec said parking and naively I assumed this was available and not something I would have to pay an additional £12 a night for. The cost whilst reasonable should have been highlighted as it effectively adds to the hotel cost despite the fact that it was not a hotel car park. Result - no tip.
