Location.
Property is a bit older and could use some modernization. Except for the reception staff and housekeeping, we found this to be the only location on our entire Azoren trip where the staff were not all that friendly. Perhaps because it is a larger hotel with large groups and turnover everyday.

The breakfast was nice.
The check-in process was absolutely ridiculous. The staff were extremely adamant that every single person in our group provide identification, even though one individual did not have any ID with them.
To make matters worse, they gave us a hard time when three members of our group provided valid California driver’s licenses. Despite having legitimate government-issued identification, they insisted that we provide passports instead. Which we didn’t have.
I’ve stayed at other hotels on Faial, and the check-in process was quick, easy, and hassle-free. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
