Exceptional

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, great location. Hotel is immaculate and so beautifully decorated, with great facilities. The staff were the best - all so kind, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, and restaurant is one of our favourites (beautiful fresh seafood, great wine selection, dining right on the water). The beach outside is perfect for us - not crowded, great for swimming, and right on your doorstep. The hotel is a short 15-20 minute walk into the beautiful old town, and the bigger beach just beyond that if you want an organised beach (bars and sun loungers for hire etc). We first visited Thalassa 4 years ago and it is just as we remember it, which is very impressive - we look forward to returning soon!

Bit of a pretentious hotel which needed to concentrate on some basics rather than just appearance.

View from terrace, comfortable bed.

Noise of nearby road, unusable bath in bedroom, glass fronted en-suite, lack of storage, unable to control room temp. lighting not easily controlled.

The view was spectacular and the staff was exceptional especially the receptionist. The view from our balcony was gorgeous.

Having to go upstairs to the bedroom as the bathroom was downstairs but nonetheless the room was fabulous.

Thank you for the best stay!

Best hotel when you want to stay for longer, have beautiful sea view ( not possible in the centre of the city). Private sea entrance. Easy parking. Best breakfest ( different everyday) and lovely stuff.

Generally nothing at all. Good idea will be make beach next to the hotel more cleaner.

Memorable

The staff, the style, furnishings very tasteful. The food was great.

Breakfast was limited, there could have been more variety. However, it was still tasty and adequate

Rude front desk staff + hot room = uncomfortable stay

Good location with a beautiful view and adjacent semi-private beach. Excellent food - both for breakfast and dinner! beautiful rooms aesthetically. Hotel has parking across the street and they provide beach towels. restaurant was 5*

Rude front desk staff (2 ladies in particular. Niko was terrific!), air conditioning is controlled by the hotel and never worked in our room. we had to sleep with the windows open which was not safe in our opinion because anyone could have climbed in because of an exposed patio. it was extremely hot in the room. TV signal went out several times. came back from dinner one night and the power in the room was out. They gave us a complimentary bottle of wine but that did not make up for living in room without air conditioning for 3 nights. They finally turned the air to 22 Celsius (they won’t go below 24 celcius unless you beg them) and it still did not cool down. no air came from the vents.

Lovely view. Reasonable hotel.

The room and view were amazing, so too were the restaurant staff who were friendly and eager to please. The menu was exceptional.

Don’t bank on any help from reception.

Superb

Cool place while on the drive between the west and east. Had no idea what to expect and this place was super chill. Had a little deck and view of the water - downstairs is a pretty epic resto that doesn't charge for Raki

Will go back when returning to Santorini

The room was much larger than expected. The breakfasts were included and quite sumptuous. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and fun.

Quirky room layouts with plenty of space which were clean and well maintained, and a gorgeous seaside breakfast / dining area. Rooms with any seaside view are definitely worth it: small balconies but great views. Staff were really helpful, particularly when we managed to lock ourselves out at 5am...

Some rooms can be less useable given layout and furnishing: the stairs to bed area would be hard to access for those with reduced mobility. Pool is very small and squeezed in next to the road, so pool view rooms are actually the least desirable & most noisy.

Hotel in the nice area of Rethymno if you have a car

The building is beautifully renovated, the swimming pool, the terraces upstairs and downstairs on the sea are really giving the magical touch to the place. The breakfast is also fantastic. The staff is very kind and courteous.

I think the beach should really be cleaned and the beds on the beach should be changed. I get that the sea is wild so it brings often plastic and that you can't easily clean a beach of stones, but it should really be done cause the beach was not worthy of a hotel of that standard.

Great comfortable stay

- Very clean and comfortable rooms. In our 6 week stay in Crete, this was our favorite bed! - Great breakfast selection - Helpful and nice staff

Beach outside hotel is not the best in the area to swim in but still lovely for a view
