We booked a 3 night stay at Scandic Roskilde Park and chose for the convenience of a a hotel just at the city border with a large and safe parking lot, while on a 3-week trip through Denmark.
The city center is within walking distance (15-20min max) and if one choses to take the car (for instance to the Viking Ship museum), the access to main roads nearby is also very easy.
As always within the Scandic group, the hotel has a high general standard and excellent large and fresh selection for the breakfast. Also the cleanliness of rooms and common areas is very good.
The staff is very welcoming and helpful and the rooms are large in size with all conveniences one can ask for.
We had a good night's rest as the area is very quiet and peaceful at the border of the park and the beds are very comfortable.
We would definitely return and recommend this hotel to others.

Good breakfast, Nice view from the room. Free parking. They had a sauna and gym, but I didn't stay long enough to use them. Good location. Very central.
When booking with a dog, be careful because you will have to eat at the reception waiting room table. It feels like you're being punished for having a dog. Super uncozy. You get looked at by everyone who enters or leaves the hotel. Meanwhile, "normal" guests get to eat in a very comfortable and nice dining room. I've not been embarrassed like this before in any hotel.
The entire building looked old. Needs an update. Window locks were broken or hanging loose, the elevator was not exactly a new model either.
Lastly, I'm hesitant to mention it, but the contact with the reception staff felt off. They did their best to be polite and friendly but it didn't feel very welcoming. Might have been a coincidence maybe.
