Beautiful architecture and grounds, superb breakfast

Good location. Near to town centre. Property is outdated but, it is expected for the age and its history.
Bathroom was good.
Breakfast was lovely. Restaurant and room staff were welcoming and friendly.
Reception staff didn’t seem welcoming. They were not interacting with guests. I always had to great them first, otherwise they would say nothing.
Room was slightly dark even with lights on. Bedding cover was small and makes the bed look like a single bed when made.
It was loud early hours of the morning as I could hear people banging things. The headboard is opposite to next room’s bathroom hence the noises. Guests on other side of my bed woke me up at 6:30-7 o’clock every day!
I didn’t like to sit outside the restaurant (terrace) area as people smoke there.

Hotel is located in the edge of beautiful park, close to Edeka supermarket so very convenient. It is quiet around and great place for walks with the dog.
I am staying in this hotel for a good few years now at least couple time a year and I can see that the standards slip slightly recently. Rooms are a bit dated but as long as they kept immaculately clean there is no issue. I have found few hairs on the towels recently which put me off. At the breakfast I was missing alpro puddings which were usually served and amazing tea selection. Not all rooms have a heating in a bathroom. With recent minus temperatures it was chilly. I have asked for a room with the radiator in the bathroom before my arrival but unfortunately the request was ignored. I am hoping the improvements can be made for my next stay.
