clear and comfortable room, comfort location, nice view on a river and a town of both sides, breakfast was satisfied but not different from day to day, comfortable SPA area

The hotel is on a beautiful city island, absolutely recommended during heatwaves due to the surrounding park and pools. Staff was kind and always keen to help. The room had a nice view on the park, a quiet aircon unit and comfy bed.
When we entered the room, the glass walls of the shower were very dirty (I'm talking greasy handprints, soap leftovers etc). I let the reception know and they were very fast at getting it cleaned, but it was quite off-putting nobody noticed beforehand.
The hotel corridors always smelled weird. I guess it's due to the humidity from the pools, but maybe there could be better airflow.
I went during peak season, so maybe in low season the experience is a bit nicer; but the pools were always crowded with loud people and kids, not really relaxing.
I tried to book a massage through the Ensana website (which doesn't work so well), but it caused huge miscommunication between their sales department, the hotel reception and the spa reception, and they left me to solve the issue.
The massage itself wasn't that great, but it was also relatively cheap, so I might have got a reduced version.
Huge queues at the breakfast buffet.
In the room there was a kettle boiler. I tried to use it, but then the electricity went out. The reception told me it was a known issue due to the kettle boiler. Turns out the kettle boiler is there, but you cannot use it :D

Thought the very large Buffett style was rather bland. The food wasn’t the hottest, I felt the breakfast was very basic and uninspiring. Coffee machines were very slow and often timing out.
