All the staff were fabulous, polite, helpful and cheerful. I was upgraded to a Superior double room at check in.
The room was tired, but clean and spacious. It had a bath tub and separate shower. Lighting was a bit dim. It is close to the A1 but all I heard with the window open was birdsong and the hotel was silent at night.
Dinner in the bar was tasty, good sized portion
Breakfast was self-service, with enough variety and even the cooked food was good - hot plates, warm food, not greasy.
The gym was really well appointed (loads of free weights and machines plus cardio machines). The pool and changing rooms were clean, I enjoyed the steam room, sauna and hot tub. The pool was a good size for lengths.
The bed was incredibly uncomfortable in the Superior Double, very soft and not flat. I had to stuff a pillow under the mattress to stop me feeling as though I'd fall out
I wasn't keen about being put on the ground floor as a single female - I did not feel safe.
The shower cubicle had two glass sides with an open space between which meant the shower water went all over the bathroom floor. The basin taps turned opposite to what I expected so I managed to flood the bathroom every time I used them.

Room was very nice. Great shower. Helpful staff. Although I found it difficult to choose from limited menu what I had was really nice.
Lack of mirrors (near plugs for hair-dryer use). Bathroom lighting. Menu in restaurant/bar. No bath.mat so shower was slippery.

Actual hotel is lovely decorated Food was superb, staff friendly , spa, steam room and pool were very good
Beds were very clean but decor needs updating skirtings lack paint and plaster could do with filling and painting if being picky

The location worked well for us.
The breakfast was reasonably ok.
It needed a lot of tlc, very grimy carpets, the window frames in our room had various tiny insects and flies living in them. Overall it was ‘fine’ and perfect for a 1 night stay - I would not book for longer though. Sorry!
