Great stay -couple & a dog

I've stayed here previously but 1st time since take over & improvements. We had 2 adults & a dog. Had a warm welcome, staff were friendly & accommodating, lovely improvements. At the top of steep hill/bailgate. Great location for castle & Cathedral, shops, pubs/eateries. Ideal for us visiting family.

Room was hot & no fans etc but was an exceptionally hot day.

Beautiful hotel next to the cathedral.

The location is fantastic. Right in the centre of historic Lincoln. The staff are very attentive and ready to help, the service is excellent.

The carpark was closed for some renovation work, so I had to find a carpark nearby.

It was very nice and comfortable to the castle and the Lincoln cathedral, and felt a real relaxed vibe in the area.

The old ambience feel of the hotel it was old but in a modern way.Very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, I liked the table service for the main meals.

Never been to Lincoln, I was concerned about no parking due to renovations however my fears were soon put to rest.

Excellent break in a beautiful hotel.

Fantastic location, room was quite small but beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good with limited cold self service section and good hot cooked to order selection.

WiFi in rooms could have been better.

They said because I booked with Booking.com is why we got inexpensive rooms up 2 flights of stairs.

Breakfast was very good.

Room was freezing. No heat. They turned the radiators on but they went off in the middle of the night. No room service on Sunday night, we were on a working trip so starving. They finally fixed us a pizza which was bread & sauce only & it was awful. When I mentioned it checking out the next day they didn’t seem to care. No lift.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting.

The hotel has been newly renovated. All rooms were immaculate. Bathrooms had walk in shower cubicles. Rooms had lovely extras included with the stay, such as locally sourced gingerbread and gin (with tonic). All staff were friendly and cheerful, from check in, to breakfast, to the housekeeping staff.

Still one or two bits of work to complete, so it will be lovely to return when everything ids finished.

Smashing historic hotel -the ghosts were sleeping but they might come awake for you!

Top of hill and the ols rotating door aaaagh! Could imagine a Dahl's Tales of Unexpected to be set here!!!!

Nice room in a great location

The location is amazing, right in the heart of the old city center. The room was nice, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

The hotel is a labyrinth of small corridors with lots of doors, which are not well signed. Even after a couple of days it was easy to get turned around in the hallways. As with all the places we have stayed on this trip, the bathroom and/or shower was rather small.

Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff

The bathroom was really cold, only heat was from a fan on the wall. Mattress was really uncomfortable. The hotel was closing for refurbishment so hopefully these issues will be rectified

its a nice location but the tired hotel should have been advertised as such, bar run down

friendly staff, apologised for imminent shutdown refund for public carpark

empty bar, next to no drink choice car park shut everything felt tired

Not the treat I had hoped to give my husband for his birthday

Staff very pleasant and helpful. Location excellent.

Just about the most cheerless and dreary hotel room I've ever been in. Dark brown doors, dark furniture, brown carpets. No curtains or cushions to liven it up. Bedside lamps missing. Lounge area had no coffee table so nowhere to eat room service if we'd ordered any. Just very depressing.

Did exactly what is says on the tin!

ideal location. could not have been better. staff were all helpful, pleasant if at times in need of some training . Food on one evening in the bar was good BUT it has been bought by a developer and is closing for three months. All the above will change

The hotel is being refurbished soon so we would go back and expect these niggles to be rectified

The location was perfect for our requirements. The weather was very cold but the hotel was comfortably warm.

Had to wait a long time for breakfast to be served and some items ran out very quickly Some of the staff at breakfast were less than friendly.

We always have fabulous stay here . The staff are amazing..nothing is ever too much trouble. The rooms are always clean & comfortable Breakfast is wonderful.

Comfortable stay , great location

Breakfast was beautiful and fresh cooked. Lots of selection. Room was spacious. Staff friendly

No fridge in room. Tea and coffee making facilities were looking abit tired and old fashioned. Rooms could be doing with lick of paint and new carpet.

Will definitely book again

Fabulous stay here, which started with room upgrade as it was our anniversary. Chris on the reception was extremely personable & nothing was too much trouble for him. Free parking on site was an extra bonus. The room we had was huge, spotlessly clean & lovely & light. Breakfast was yummy. The location is right next door to the cathedral. We ventured in there on Sunday morning. It is stunning & what was even more remarkable was the choir! Truly breath taking
