Great location. This guest house is within walking distance of the cathedral, river and many pubs and restaurants. Lounge/conservatory and dining area was fabulous with lovely decor.
Our room needed a little tlc...the shower room had peeling paint on the ceiling.

The breakfast is good value. The house & garden are made memorable by the loving detail that the owners clearly invest in the property. I enjoyed the slightly out-of-city-centre location, meaning it was convenient for parking and for inviting me to walk 10 minutes to the Cathedral or 15 minutes to the "Maltings", Ely's lovely riverside area. For those arriving / leaving by train, the station is another 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Looking ahead to the next time I visit Ely, the Nyton Hotel will be my first choice.

We liked the location, the surrounding land, the style of the building, the size of the bedroom, the breakfast room style and views onto the garden and the private parking. Breakfast was fine except for the tinned tomatoes but was otherwise totally acceptable. Staff were generally friendly and helpful when actually present - which they were for breakfast.
We didn't like the absence of staff meaning directions to our room by phone, the lack of evening meal restaurant options because of lack of staff orthe need for us to help other guests with luggage because of complete lack of staff. The place needs a deep clean as close inspection of windows, radiators etc demonstrated but more used areas were mostly clean.
