My girlfriend and I recently spent a weekend at The White Horse Inn in Dorking, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a much better experience. We were looking for a relaxing little getaway from London, somewhere we could unwind, enjoy some good food, and spend some quality time together. The White Horse turned out to be an excellent choice. The hotel and room The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was a little on the small side, but it was beautifully presented, very well equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable weekend away. The bathroom was particularly nice, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The complimentary tea and coffee station was also a lovely touch, as was the warm welcome we received on arrival. It’s those little details that make a stay feel special. The restaurant and food We also had the pleasure of dining at the hotel’s restaurant. The prices were a little on the higher side, but that was understandable given the standard of the hotel. More importantly, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the whole dining experience felt well worth it. And then there was the breakfast. Oh. My. God. The breakfast! We opted for a slightly more expensive room rate that included breakfast, and it was worth every penny. It genuinely exceeded our expectations and was one of the absolute highlights of our stay. I honestly cannot praise it enough! Dorking and the surrounding area Dorking itself was a lovely place to explore. We spent a couple of hours walking around, enjoying the scenic surroundings and the character of the town. The locals we encountered were friendly, and the area had exactly the relaxed atmosphere we were hoping to find when we decided to get away from London for the weekend. Overall experience All in all, we had a fantastic weekend.

The only thing I could maybe say I wasn't 100% satisfied with was the pricing of the restaurant. But even that was acceptable.

Unique, friendly, great food…nice touches in room !

At 5am large waste bins were being dragged up a cobbled alleyway right next to our room. This went on for at least an hour. Then the noise continued as the bins were dragged back to the hotel. The room had an air conditioning funnel hanging out of the the window which subsequently was open and exacerbated the noise. Being woken up at 5am with an unacceptable noise level had a very negative impact on my life/work the following day.

There was a very friendly waitress but overall the staff, especially the floor manager are not that friendly or accommodating.
