Hotel needs a revamp - cosmetically and service wise

Room was a bit dingy with no view. We had previously stayed here with a view over the Church Green but the room this time was nowhere near as good. Breakfast were basic but acceptable. Evening meals were poor and slow service

Great food and excellent customer service - lovely staff! Comfortable and clean rooms.

One room we couldn't open the windows which seemed to have been painted shut, so couldn't have any fresh air to sleep in!

Dreadful

It was comfortable if we’d been able to get any sleep

A dreadful noise for over an hour. A Management we could couldn’t contact for over an hour. A really dreadful experience and no apology provided.

Lovely room with exceptional food and service in the restaurant *****

All round an amazing stay at The Fleece. Before we arrived I called to book for dinner which wasn't available for the time i wanted online but they made it happen and booked us in. When we arrived the car park was full. The manager asked where we had parked and then offered to move his own car so we could get in the car park. The room was lovely and had a nice view from our window. Dinner was absolutely amazing. Just wow and such a good menu to choose from. I also noticed someone on another table complementing the food saying that it wasnt just good, it was superb! Breakfast was equally 10/10. Will definitely be returning, we had a great stay.

Excellent, will be back when in that area.

I had a lovely warm room, nice bathroom , excellent parking at the hotel.. The evening meal was beautiful.. Good choice of breakfast,not the usual, no cereal fruit etc but a good choice of cooked food...

There were several doors closing etc and walking around the corridor late at night that cant be helped.... Drinks are rather expensive , especially a glass of wine, but it was very nice .

it was over the post Christmas period and i think maybe they hadn’t got into the swing of getting going again. the servi

it was great that there were sufficient rooms and and dining space for our large group

we had a 7pm booking,a large party, and were informed just before 9pm,still with food to finish that the bar was closing at 9pm. no prior warning, no explanation most of us were also hotel guests. i don’t think this was appropriate. breakfast was cold and some of the food items looked like they had seen better days

we liked the pub, and where it was situated

we had an apartment in the annex, room 2, this is quite a safe area, but the lock on the outside door leading to the room was broken, we would have felt a lot safer if we could have locked this at night, and when going out

Friendly place, very welcoming. Good location. Good breakfast.

We couldn't open the windows in room 8, they appeared to be nailed shut, and as a result the room was too warm and stuffy. Our friends in room 6 had a much nicer experience.

Great stay at the Fleece

Great position in the town. Comfortable rooms.

We waited a long time for breakfast and weren't offered orange juice, butter, more tea, etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay and we enjoyed the food too.

My room was super with a king size bed plus I loved the bathroom. Comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant and the food was great. The breakfast was excellent. The location was just right to the shops, banks and more restaurants. What a pretty village green, loved it.

I really can't think of anything. Perhaps check on the coffee, tea making supplies, that's about it.

Location and how clean the rooms were.

Stayed in the cosy double, this had verlux windows on a high ceiling, unfortunately one of the blinds were already broken and left open, the other three which were closed didn't do anything to block out light... so a relaxing night away, we were actually up from 7am with how bright the room was :( recommend letting guests know. On the evening, had a cocktail in bar, disappointed that the martini didn't actually fill the glass only 3/4s... I mentioned this when purchasing and the bar staff didn't really understand my point. However, they reshook the cocktail. Just a little bit disappointing when cocktails are already expensive for the measurements to not actually make a full martini.
