Bayards Cove Inn

We've stayed a few times over the years and have always been pleased with our room, service etc.

Nothing to do with Baynards but to do with the council. We parked at the Park & Ride only to find out they had ended the bus, according to the council Sept 16 is no longer high season, unbelievable! I looked online and it said you now needed the 92 bus which would come into the car park, it doesn't and there isn't a 92 bus, luckily a member of the public told us to walk over to Sainsbury's and get the number 90 bus into town (£5.00 for both of us). We entered the car park at around 15.00 and the car park closes at 18.00 but the cost was a massive £10.00 for 3 hours and no P&R bus! The toilets in the P&R were locked, we had a very long wait for the 90 bus and those on it, both residents of the Dartmouth area and P&R customers were furious about the lack of a P&R bus and couldn't believe the council now considered September to be low season. We have decided not to visit Dartmouth again in the future due to the lack of a bus, toilet facilities etc, a great pity but we weren't alone, others we spoke to felt the same, parking is far too expensive, P&R bus stopped in what we all considered to still be high season and no information at the P&R to explain where to pick up a bus to get into town and then another charge for the bus (surely P&R customers should not be charged for the bus! Sorry Bayards, not your fault but very doubtful we'll be back, totally due to a small mixed council. We'll miss you.

Lovely old hotel in great location. Staff were brilliant.

No parking and Dartmouth parking options are dreadful.

Great location and our room was blessed with river views. The room was very clean and comfortable with good quality bed linen and towels. My family slept well!! We were surprised the room offered us more room than expected. Breakfast options were excellent and varied and we liked you were even offered additional hot drinks!!! Overall the Banyard team were exceptional and attentive.

Location was excellent. Cooked breakfast was phenomenal. Staff were excellent.

Stayed in the fisher room. It was horrendous. To loud, and horrifically warm. When a hotel room provides ear plugs the writings on the wall. Somebody started hoovering at 10.30 at night. Waste pipe boxing in in the corner needs insulating, quite often there’s a constant sound of running water. All in all I felt robbed by the cost and basically shut away in a favella style room
