DoubleTree by Hilton Fiji - Sonaisali Island

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Relaxing atmosphere. The grounds were well kept and clean. Buffet theme nights are a good idea and the fire dancing was a bonus. Lots of space on the island so it did not feel crowded and we had a pleasant walk from one end to the other. There is a small entertainment / play area with a pool table, foosball, and darts which was nice (although the equipment were a bit worn out or parts missing). We were allowed to stay at the resort and use the facilities after we checked out as we had a late evening flight. Nice pool. Nice swim up bar. Love the 3 happy hours every day! Drink prices were decent for a resort.

Housekeeping was terrible. We stayed 5 nights and no change of towels on 4 nights. On the day they changed it, only gave us 2 when we had 3 people. Empty tissue box was not replaced. Used glasses were not replaced or washed and on one day it was washed, it was still dirty and left in the bathroom. Coffee & tea not replenished. Complimentary bottle of water not provided (reception told us we would get one bottle per day). When we asked for new towels, water and new tissue box, we had to often wait 2 hours (during that time we often had to ask a second time). We also had to wait a long time for our bags to be picked up when checking out (again had to call them twice). Buffet theme night is a good idea but unfortunately, the food was not very tasty or appealing as the service areas were always messy and dirty. A lot of the hot food were cold. The rooms will soon probably need a good upgrade as some of the equipment (light switches, drawers, furniture panels were faulty). The dinner package we paid for was only for the buffet (we only found out when we were there) and it would have been good if we could have a choice at eating at the other restaurant (could be limited to say one entree + one main etc.).

The location was lovely, the staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable and very quiet, the food was enjoyable.

The place was a little tired and needed some renovations such as lighting on the paths and uneven walkways. Some shades on the beach and at the pool would be nice. It would be handy if there was a small shop with a few essentials in it.

The location and the view were amazing. The people and service were fabulous.

When you rent a bungalow, unfortunately there is people that rent the bungalow. In addition to you and the walls are very thin. Two of the three nights we stayed We had to call and complain because they were up until 1 AM and it was like they were in our room partying. So if you like to have a quiet vacation, a bungalow is not your option.
