We'd stayed before so we knew it was good. This time we had a big room and a sofa as well. The bed is comfortable, the curtains keep the light out and the shower is hot. Staff are very friendly and then there's Harvey the Labrador to greet you in the morning. The evening meals at the pub are excellent and there's a good range of beer and cider. Very good breakfast.

Found this little gem and booked last minute to break up a journey to Cornwall. Just off the M5 at Brent Knoll.
Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful, the room was much larger than we were expecting with plenty space and storage for a longer stay. Bathroom was also a good size and shower was hot and had good pressure.
The bar and restaurant are nicely decorated and a comfortable place to chill out and eat after a long drive.
Absolute stand out feature for this place has to be the food, we were lucky enough to book the last table that evening and so glad we did. Chicken burger was really good and a proper chicken burger too, made with thigh meat with a proper crispy batter, my wife had the greek stlye chicken skewers. both meals were really tasty.
Breakfast was also a winner, tasty with good quality fresh produce. One of the nicest we've had at a hotel for long while.
Definatley look to booking the Fox and Goose again when we're down this way.
Only a few very minor things.
Due to its location you get a lot of noise from the road outside which did wake us up a couple of times that night.
Room ergonomics could be tweaked to make things a little easier, for instance having sockets closer to the bed for phone charging, also closer to the large mirror for a hair dryer, my wife found the mirror on the dresser too low and still had to stretch the power cord to reach.
Bathroom could do with updating, looking a little tired.
Not a moan by any means as they didn't spoil the stay.
