Greeting on arrival was good. The room are spacious, powerful showers, though watchout for the really hot hot-water taps. The location is excellent - this could be a goldmine hotel. The games room has a good selection of adult and children games
Compared to three years ago standards have declined - the breakfast service has disappeared and the breakfast bar was quite poor for quality and selection.
The evening meal was served after almost an hour's wait with most of the asked for food suddenly out of stock, no zero percent beers strangely enough, on what was not a busy night based on the few diners in the room
The serving staff, though earnest, seemed very inexperienced and somewhat inattentive - do they have the right level of training?
The lighting at night to the car park entrance is woeful, and poorly signed

The hotel is right opposite Wookey caves which is why we chose it. The restaurant food was reasonably good. Parking right outside hotel. Room appeared clean. Accessible room wet room with rainful shower and separate room excellent!
Staff mostly looked unhappy whilst working but one tall young man with long pony tail stood out as exceptional, kind, caring, nothing too much trouble and very helpful indeed and smiled! Restaurant was very loud with a party of people whose language was colourful and had little respect for fellow diners so we left early. Hotel did nothing to curb noise. Only 4 disabled bays.
